  • This a very nice version. We are close to Jimi. Very honest version.

  • wait , was he playn his guitar WITH HIS TEETH??? is that even possible????!?!?!?!

  • @andriuchaMetal With all do respect...where have been? Under a rock?

Seeing is believing, but Jimi's tricks only help to define him as, if not the greatest, one of the top 1 rock and blues guitarists that has ever lived.

  • 15 people were messin' around town with Joe's old lady

  • i think the drummer did too much speed, LOL

  • I guess 15 ppl can not appreciate the creativity and individualism that poured out of this man's music, words, and soul.

  • When he play, music got soul...15 people can't search deep enough in their hearts... :)

  • why was i born 1992, i want to see jimi live

  • ....and all of the women in the audience cried. "OMG! if only...." :)

  • Jimi me inspira a tocar guitarra !

  • No other guitar player was even in the same league as Jimi Hendrix.

  • Th greatest

    R.I.P. Jimmy Hendrix

  • the only thing i hate about watching videos of hendrix is they never show his hands!!

  • NO PEOPLE!!!! THE THUMBS DOWN IS NOT THE DOWNLOAD BUTTON!!!!!!!

  • how does he play with his teeth. i dont think his dentist would like that very much

  • @moskov12nicholas out of necessity, his hands were tired.

  • 15 people disliked just because they will never be Jimi Hendrix ;P

  • live n let die no judgement necesaryy ..... heroin ha ya not his biggest evil give tha man man a little respect/!!!

  • @GreedyNoobLike What is it to you what the man did in his personal life?

  • Comment removed

  • For all yu people that think hendrix was into the drug scene, not so he never used heroin like repoted at his death he had sleepin pills in his system he basically drown in red wine accordinb to the medical examiner, the theory that he was murdered has a lot of merit in it if yu research it.

  • I lived in a bedsit when I was 18 years old (as y'do)...Jimi came 'round for a spliff.

  • I had the great good fortune to hear Hendrix in Denver in 1967. It was a pretty small club, everyone was standing (no seats!) and man, was it LOUD!

  • Jimi Hendrix was such a unique and cool /nice guy , and on stage he was a great artist , he create a music that will NEVER be forgotten .

to me Hendrix and Jimmy page are THE two top Guitarists of all times

    Long live this music !!

  • see now this is a true musical genius he was a forefather of his time. Jimi has been one of my greatest influences in music and me playing guitar. and to all of you who think he was black he was not he was only half the other half was Cherokee Indian. and on top of that he was also a paratrooper. To bad we lost him R.I.P. Jimi

  • GO JIMI GO!!!!!!!!

  • Jimi Hendrix is the best guitar player ever of the world because he is so much creative, and he is the pioneer on much guitar's techniques and guitar's styles.

He is a influence for greats guitarists of today.

    God Save the Jimi Hendrix!

  • The jimi hendrix experience may be the greatest collection of musicians

  • Do you think Jimmi would hold his pants up ? ?

what the F happen to you bro's

He was sOOOOOOOOOOOO far ahead of his time

  • how old is he here i think he looks pretty young 21

  • @justdropem about 24

  • HE'S PLAYING WITH HIS FUCKIN GMOUTH, HOW FUCKING COOL IS THAT :D

  • What a great tune.Luckily i was fortunate to see Jimi Hendrix about 6 times or more live in the early days .Roundhouse Camden ,California ballroom Dunstable etc .What i remember from those days is that he changed music and especially lead guitar. In my view only a very few muscians /bands have been tipping points in the contemporary music scene at the time and historically . In order . .Elvis,Dylan,Lennon & Mc Cartney ,Hendrix , The Sex Pistols and Nirvarna.

  • im reading a biography about him for this summer project with have to do (bummers -.-) and the lady said she met him and he was a chiiiiiiill dude that seemed to always have something on his mind..until he performed and just let everything go through his guitar..and by seeing his live performance...she kids not..

  • 14 people have no taste for music

  • god jimi!!

  • I think eddie's the best!!

  • this is such a lack luster performance by jimi. doesn't look like he even cares. and for all these arguments about who's better, everyone seems to forget about how key mitch and noel were to the band. mitch was an amazing drummer but everyone seems to forget that. RIP The Experience

  • @megascarp - not really lackluster, probably tuned down a bit from what we're used to because: a) it was earlier in his career - just look at how the 3 look... in particular Mitch Mitchel's hairstyle, and b) this was for a live TV broadcast, they were possibly told to keep it tuned down a bit by the producer... or someone

  • 14 people who just have no clue , go listen to Justin Fucking Biber !

  • Rare, indeed. Thanks for the post!

  • No one realizes these days that music sounded so good because of the infuence of drugs like heroin and shrooms. It gives so much feeling to the music that we don't have today.

  • @cryan5280 Drugs add nothing to the music. Are you trying to say that the music of Mozart, Bach, Vivaldi had no feeling? They didn't do heroin or and of the other crap. I grew up with this music, saw Hendrix several times, loved the music but don't put brilliance down to chemical rubbish.

  • @hawkmoon03111951 Most people would actually agree the music in the 70s was most inspired by drugs. Im not saying they arent brilliant.

  • @cryan5280 Some of the sixties and seventies was. Some of that was brilliant and a lot of it was turgid rubbish. Lots of those artists made their best music before they started to get into the really heavy drugs. Then look at the casualties. Hendrix, Moon, Morrison, Joplin dead before their time. Barrett and Green destroyed. Clapton, Townshend etc, almost destroyed. Fantastic music can be made without drugs. Some can be made with it but the cost is enormous.

  • @hawkmoon03111951 Yea I agree. The world lost a lot of talent to drugs in those times but music would be different.

  • @hawkmoon03111951

Don't forget Brian Jones! He formed the "Stones". Major talented person there too....

  • every time i watch a hendrix vid on youtube i always get this nostalgic feeling, even though i wasn't born until 30 years after his death

  • its not rare anymore if you put it on youtube

  • @ManWithFIngers lol i was just about to put that!

  • @StinkyBritches52 great minds think alike

  • Race? Hhhhmmmm! you have it a little backwards. Jimi was told by his management, Black Panters and assorted other "advisors" to loose the two white guys because he should be setting an example for "blacks" and he should be playing with blacks. Under huge pressure from supposed black culture leaders he started "Band of Gypies with Buddy Miles(very good R&B drummer) and Billy Cox(only all right bass player). Yeah, he pleased the counter-culture guru's, but did not equal "The Experience" in soul!

  • That was music XD

  • Good.

  • 14 negative ?

  • love him mpore than ever..he rolled with a 3 piece band, thats it kids...try and do that with one guitar, one bass, one drummer, lol......of course his fingers are mercury or some other very slick and slippery substance...the only other i have seen with thos kind of fingers are Stevie Ray...

  • Not read Good, Capetown?

Jimi was forced to play this tune. He was also forced to play Sunshine o' Yer Love riff, the Crapton Riff.

FORCED. Big letters maybe you can read that a bit better.

It's a deliberate 2nd rate performance, halfwitski! He butchers hell out of it on the Lulu show.

Deep Purple did a nice cover of this, but Jimi dint like the 'shoot the old lady bit."

  • GUITAR EATIIIIIIIIIIIIING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ÉÉÉÉÉÉÉPpÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍcC

  • @ANy5500 -- binge and purge :D

  • As usual, a subtly second-rate performance from Jimi on this tune, which he never wanted anything to do with. Musicians should stop covering this, if they want to respect Jimis musical legacy. He hated this tune, was forced to record it.

Plus, it's too dam easy to jam! Sick to death of it, as was Jimi by the time this was filmed.

  • @JTheRiffer

Load of shit. This is early 1967 when the Experience was still fresh. To say this is a second rate performance is an insult to Hendrix and his millions of fans around the world.

  • rare de voir jimi comme çà ,genial , un des meilleurs guitariste des sixties ,avec clapton ,alvin lee , keith richards ,etc ................ LE PIED QUOI !!

  • good :)

  • there're 12 evil people. hell awaits them.

  • jimmy ,du warst der allergrößte!!!!

  • only a fukin retard wouldnt like this anybody who says greenday or any dumb shit is better doesnt deserve to walk the same earth as HENDRIX did

  • "guitar king" sounds so damn underrated...:)

  • hey Joe, yeah Jim:P

  • i say that any decent american should hunt down and kill those 12 people that watched this clip and hit the "dislike" button! there's no way to repair a mentallity that could watch this clip and then press "dislike". how are these people tolerated in our society! I FRIGGIN'HATE THEM!!!

    {i'm tryin' to be funny y'all; lighten up!}

  • thanks for posting\m/.

  • Free Replay Button : 00:00

  • HarryDawg, u are an idiot.

  • wow

  • Never gets old

  • I think the coolest thing about Jimi--besides the kick-ass rock of course--is how he gives himself to the MUSIC: neither letting himself be used by whitey and whitey's ideas about black people or "their" music, nor allowing racial tension dominate him or his music.

He gave himself COMPLETELY to the zeitgeist of the Sixties: love, peace, rock and roll, social change. (And drugs too but the drug scene was different then, so I'm cool with it.)

He never "plays the race card," only the guitar!

  • @virgy45 Great comment, Jimi never played that card, I've thought that for years but never said it.

  • @virgy45 Mate drugs are chill in moderation, things like acid and weed etc.

Sadly though, I have to correct you on one thing. Whitey(his managers) totally used him.

  • @virgy45 lol who do not drugs.. to be honest?

  • @virgy45 But it was way uncool how he could not handle his drugs. That was a waste.

  • @virgy45 I agree with you. But are you saying this is black music? Because Page, Clapton, Green. All fantastic white blues guitarists.

  • @virgy45 JIMI KICKED ASS..not b'cuz he was black er white... shut the fuck up retard..... DAMN..... IT''S IN YOUR SOUL. OR NOT...REGARDLESS OF COLOR BITCH

    \ FUCK

  • @virgy45 Jimi hendrix couldnt be worried about race, he was 1/3 black, 1/3 native american and 1/3 white, hes all of us, so who cares, he was a melting pot of our cultures.

  • @virgy45 Very well said virgy45. I had the honor of seeing Mr. Hendix perform in 1971, I was 14 years old. He played at Tulane University in New Orleans. There was no "race" issues, everyone came there for one thing and one thing only, his music, just as you say, "he gives himself to the MUSIC" It was amazing how he uinleashed all of what he had to give to EVERYONE. If we could only go back in time and learn to live in those tradtions from then, I don't think we would of went thru so much.

  • @wpreddog You better check your ticket stub 'cause Jimi died on September 18, 1970... :-]

  • @virgy45 your a fucken idiots and i cant believe 32 fucken idiots followed you, im white and i know hendrix stood for peace your just a fucken racist.

  • @virgy45 I agree completely. He probably would have never believed what an adored figure he would become and what an important role he played in shaping music and peoples' lives. He was definitely a man of character and there will never be another like him.

  • Wow! - I've never seen this footage before, muchos gracias for posting.

  • Oh for the good old days of proper musicians and cheap fuel.

  • thats not rare thats from the single hahaha

  • was he picking with his teeth?

  • @MrOppi3that was his trademark illusion, "hammering on" the fret with his right hand and mimic ing playing with his teeth. He does the pointing at the crowd thing too while making a groovy sound by "hammering" too.Thats part of the reason why we love him. lol. (see Monterey Pop performances for more contortionistic showmanship)

  • @stx377 oh lol thnx

  • 0:06 theres a poster on my wall of that exact moment

  • when it comes to electric guitars he wasJust the Best the guitar became an extention of himself the two became one like a man making love to a woman he was that good, God bless him his music still give pleasures to millions

  • @polygamous1 so true, was the best ,still the best,a lot of folk do not understand hendrix ,i think they are quite content to listen to very bland stuff,he changed the music scene in the sixtys from luke-warm to boiling this we need again, most music of today is luke-warm.

  • Is that the triforce in the bottom right

  • hey Reallaty, in april 2010 after the release of valleys of neptune-he had 5 albums in the top 100 GLOBALLY-do the math yourself---billions would be a pretty accurate figure

  • @ihaveautubeaccount11 Im pretty sure that he was under 28 :D

  • @aabenraa1 He was 27 at the time of his death, two months shy of what would have been his 28th birthday.

  • @eggmangoogoogoojoob the magic number, 27 hendrix/janis joplin /jim morrison, and many more died at 27, die young and leave a good looking corpse!!!!

  • the 12 people that dislike this have billions of people worlwide that think they are stupid-how you like that???

  • Instead of great music now we have to deal with shit like Green Day lol

  • @HarryDawg310

u probably dont know anything about today music if you think that green day is shit...go listen to Biever a then talk about shity music....jimi is high level, not many people can comapre to him

  • @HarryDawg310 that is very true nothing but garbage these days in my opinion the strokes is all we got left and once there gone its over and ther will never be anyone like THE HENDRIX

  • @HarryDawg310 if i wanted to see some old shit i'd go to a museum.

  • @HarryDawg310 and also deal with square minded people like you lol

  • @HarryDawg310 it gets worse now i can't go out in public anywhere on a friday without hearing some idiot[s] singing friday by rebecca black.

  • @HarryDawg310 green day isnt shit if you factor what else we have today ... green day is o.k. and most new music is absolutely terrible but 60s music is perfect ... especially the beatles, the who, and jimi hendrix

  • @caulinrocker1

What do you know about "what we have today" ? It's not limited to what MTV shows or savorless indie rock...

  • @Medioda i know ... ive unfortunately been dragged to see many aweful artists and seen demos by others ... although a good artist comes sometimes but very rarely nowadays and they are at best decent

  • @caulinrocker1

Yeah, thats what i said, you don't seem to no anything about nowadays music. Modern groups are "at best decent" and Green day is ok? C'mon, its not that hard to find interresting stuffs, in any kind of music.

  • @Medioda 60s good music ... i just dont like the new stuff

  • @HarryDawg310 Grow up. You are still in the 60's & 70's. I have to admit Jimi is a really good guitar player but times changing.

  • @DiedeXgd times changing to worse

  • @HarryDawg310

    well, fuck you!

  • @HarryDawg310 yeah the thing the hates me most is that most of people are like... I dont listen to Lady Gaga, i listen to rock like Green Day and Avril Lavringe forever. Anyways both of those bands are shit. We really need you Jimi.

  • Hello. I'm a 12 year old blues guitar player. I am influenced i would say by four people. My dad, Jimi, SRV, and John Mayer. I just put up a cover of this song. It contains both elements of this version and John Mayer's version. I would love to get some feedback on my guitar playing. thanks!

  • Well, smooth, relaxed and cool ... thank you for posting ... rare but excellent

  • Im only 15 Jimi Hendrix is My favourite. <3

  • MTV back in the early 80's used to have a segment called "Closet Classics" and I used to love it when they played this !

  • @86lenny I agree Lenny...My favorite show on MTV was ''Legends"' why don't they put these shows on VH1 Classic. I used to like ''Behind the Music''...but they are remastering them and if i see the Poison episode 1 more time!..imao

  • call me a "racist"...but i ask this....if more blacks made real music...where would they be?

  • @yersisterlovesme THIS IN NOT BLACK THIS IS THE UNIVERSE TALKING

  • @blackdude57 that is true!! thats why i asked what i asked...rap is not music...its glorified "no talent". hell i could repeat a 4 line rhyme over and over and over and over and over.........

  • @yersisterlovesme When it comes to rap I find that I agree with Greg Alman. When asked what he thought of rap he said: "Rap ? Hell that's short for CRAP !!!!!"

  • @yersisterlovesme I'm black but hell I agree with you.

  • i did not just see jimi play guitar with his teeth

  • Love this raw version. Jimi is still the best guitarist in my book. He's a lefty, plays wicked mind boggling solos, and plays with his teeth.

  • @blackhawk10972 hes actually right handed but he plays like that xD

  • @Boody58 no he was left handed but his dad wanted him to play right handed so when his dad walked in to the room jimi would just flip the guitar to be right handed and kept on playing : )

  • @Boody58 HOW OLD ARE YOU???

  • @IgnacioMenaFigueroa Their computers and brains are certainly not right-side up.

  • @IgnacioMenaFigueroa 12 pretty sad people put thumbs down for a legend

  • Jimi Rules All, Bitches!

We need your help to destroy this modern autotune music that

has ruled the world. Copy paste this comment on every good music

video such as: Metallica, Dio, AC/DC, led zep, the doors, Beatles,Rolling Stones, Iron Maiden, hendrix

    Guns n' Roses, etc

    Thumbs up 2 this plan

  • @leggendapod Ffs, don't acknowledge that shit man.

Just listen to what you Like to hear...

Don't give that baby video so much views...

It's viewed more by people who hate it than who like it...

No matter the likes and dislikes, only the views count.

  • Wow, i see why his band was name the jimi hendrix experience. Holy shit, smoke some pot listen to his music, song gave me chills! It was a experience
