  • Going to see UFO tonight for the first time in Tempe AZ never to late!!!

  • I can't believe there are so many "UFO fans" who don't get it. Vinnie is the right guy for the job. No one else could pull this gig off. Vinnie's not an imitator he's an inovator. So was Micheal back when he joined UFO. We don't need someone to memorize his solos note for note. We need someone willing to go where the song takes him. Watch the UFO Showtime dvd and you'll see why Vinnie's great in UFO. This clip is so out of context it's impossible to judge it. But somehow you do anyway. Shame.

  • I love schenkers playing ,love Vinnes playing ..neither play like each other and thats a good thing . Vinnie brings it to the table at :23 .. !

  • vinne moore is better in some ways than schenker, but its not how many notes per minute that makes you good, its how you can move a listener and can make someone feel something inside. schenker has that gift this guy dosnt,

  • I've seen UFO countless times and am huge MS fan, seen so many stand in for

Michael and do terrible job. Your right you don't compare the two, No need to stand on VM's head either. I've played over 30 years and VM does nice job translating in his own fashion. Last time I saw UFO with MS in 90's @ Riviera in Chi. MS couldn't even hold a candle to his old playing in his prime. I'd be mighty happy to cover MS on tune as melodically as Vinnie does. Get a life. Arrogance proportionate to ignorance

  • Didn't really like it, but you have to give him credit, at least he had the balls to try. Try painting like Dali.....

  • Schenker's solos are always brilliant and have heart/soul. Vinnie is an exceptional instrumentalist, however, no feel, just guitar wank.

  • mike blew this song out of the water; vinnie's just a show off

  • vinnie moore is a good guitarist but his style doesnt fit with this band I think he should go solo

  • and I'd say he is the one that makes the band still alive ;) and as long he records his solo albums, I won't complain ;]

  • vinnie may be good, but why the *#%$ is he playing with ufo? he can't even afford a gibson flying v? that'd be like playing in a les paul in a rainbow tribute band. don't get me wrong, i'll go when they make it my neck of the woods next week.

they should've tracked down mick bolton.

  • not even close to the original , to tech and no feel

  • Vinnie Moore is one of the best guitar players today

  • Yeah but he can't fill up schenker's shoes now can he? Talking about turning a great song into some clinical uninspired solo fest..my god...

  • Thanks for posting these vids of Vinnie man, hes one of the tastier players going these days .

  • Thanks for a positive comment :D most people tend to write how Schenker is better than Vinnie :/

  • Ugh, put him out of his misery.

  • Darkcheer 2 You write the truth. All what Vinie Moore is doing is ruin the original solo. Schenker's solo is far much better with much more feeling and melody.Michael Schenker is the one and only!!

  • Schenker brought such melody to this solo, and Moore just took it away.

Moore is very technically good and some of his stuff is interesting, but please don't come and ruin classics with this kind of guitar playing - it doesn't fit and always sounds worse.

Moore should just stick to his own style and stay out of areas like classic rock , because he ruins it

  • Oh come on, cut it with that bull crap. They are both good in their own right.

  • no bull crap here. Like you said, they are both good in their own right. So Moore should stick to his and Schenker to his. You don't see Schenker go and play any of Moore's stuff, b/c he understands he has a diff style.

  • Vinnie Moron is good for anonymous, low budget, obscure Shrapnel releases that about 200 guitar nerds will buy over the course of 15 years. Schenker is Brilliant

and shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Haha, the senselessness of that comment is really funny.

Give it up! Michael Schenker is not Vinnie Moore, and Vinnie Moore is not Michael Schenker. They both do their own thing. Just as David Lee Roth is not Sammy Hagar and Sammy Hagar is not David Lee Roth! Of course, when Sammy joined VH, they still had to play the VH1/2 era "classics" for the fans, but they also started writing new stuff with the new band. Same thing goes for UFO. There's nothing wrong with that. Get over it.

  • vinnie is ok but schenker is god

  • Saw them! this rocked

  • saw them in dublin the same week as this man,.... CLASSIC!!!

  • genius

  • the title of the song says it all.

  • This kind of bummed me out. I never thought I'd hear someone with a shredder style riff over classic UFO. The guy's good but this is just weird. I saw UFO at the Golden West Ballroom in 1976 and Schenker had a horrible night, so I should cut Vinnie some slack! VH opened for them, and Phil sent them jugs of wine after their tight soundcheck to try to get them drunk. Didn't work :-) VH blew off my idols that night!

  • 05rsx you don't get it at all!! All Vinnie Moore does is raping the song and solo. Michael schenker has 100 times more sense of melody and groove, more than Vinnie Moore ever will get, also is Michael an original guitarist who influenced many later guitar players.Michael wrote more classics than Moore ever will!!And I never heard crap solo's from Michael. He's the most talented guitarist on this planet!!

I like the Chapman era also much more than the last 3 UFO years.

  • Thank You well put. I have heard guys like Stevie Ray or Frank Marino cover Jimi do their own thing so to speak but stay in the vibe of the song. This is just like Yngwie take past licks and exercises change keys and play them over and over out of context of the song..it's look what I can do. This is a song not a jam track.Schenker/Chapman/Kollman UFO's best IMAHO

  • It's Vinnie Moore. Don't expect him to be Schenker. Whenever I listen to Frank Marino (with or without Mahogany Rush) covering Hendrix, he still sounds like Frank Marino. When I listen to Vinnie Moore play UFO songs, he still sounds like Vinnie Moore. I don't understand what the problem is...

  • Exactly!! I simply don't understand all of this fuss about Vinnie! He's an incredible guitarist and YES, many of his roots are with the neo classical "Yngwie" type of scene but is that a crime? I think he fits well, adds a breath of fresh air, and pays geat homage to the classic UFO we all know and love.

  • What vinnie does that schenker cant (god bless him) is improvise as well.Funny how someone can knock VM great talent, did you ever hear some of the crap off night solos schenker did more than a few times over the years?another 1+ in vinnie court

  • Schenker is "great" BUT vinnie is not a hack. Technically vinnie is better. But the fact that Schenker has written so many great songs , way more than vinnie has and ever will is what sets him easily over and above vinnie.

  • What sets Schenker apart is that he come come up with notes and solo in his thought and then play and to himself yeah thats what i want. Schenker is pure genius and the best guitar composer and soloist by far.

  • Listen to what Schenker did 28 YEARS ago on SITN

and how it massacres this version by the shrapnel

afro sheen. This guy just hacked his way into

mediocrity. I feel sorry for Mogg and Way!

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah your right but Vinnie does a good job better than Chapman but never comes close to Schenker...specially on SITN.

  • man ignorant much?1st schenker solos are 95% worked out and if hes drunk lol say goodbye lol, vinnie was the first soloist that STARTED the shrapnel label.Schenker is one of my alltime fave guitarist..but I do have a touch with reality ..do u?

  • (No offense to the person who posted this vid) but

Schenker was wanted in Aerosmith, Whitesnake, KISS, Ozzy Osbourne, and the Rolling Stones in add. to already being in UFO and Scorpions. He was supposed to work with the Rhythm section of Rush. He influenced Kirk, Marty Friedman, Paul Gilbert, Slash, the guys in Tesla, etc. etc. etc. Now, how many notable guitarists actually give Vinnie Moore props or do cover versions of his tunes? Maybe some unknown minor label character from Outer Moldavia.

  • and you claim that because of that Vinnie's worth nothing as a guitarist? O_O He's the best thing that could happen to UFO at the moment. And as I worship Schenker I appreciate VM nearly as much.. ( I didn't feel offended of course :P)

  • Hehehe thats funny...nice 1.

  • Comment removed

  • They do? News to me.

  • Don't get me wrong, I'm an extreme Schenker fan (and nothing beats the UFO line-up with him), but to call Vinnie Moore a "hack" is completely absurd.

  • Doesn't get any better than the Vinmeister!

  • Totally agree!!!
