  • Thanks im getting my snake on Thirsday and im going to get a tank just like that and youve tought me a lot thanks thumbs up

  • is that song black betty ,,,great vid

  • I seen u put the hide under the bulb so im assuming thats the hot end of the tank, if ur only using 1 hide U MUST put it in the cool end the snake will happily bask in the hot ends substrate but if they feel insecure and the hide is only on the hot end they will cook themselves in order to feel secure, but if its in the cool end they will not freeze to death because even the cool end is not cold enough to do so.

  • Those screen lids suck and that cage it self Is way to expensive better off using a regular fish tank and buying a steardy screen lid not those flimsy p.o.s.

  • Do you live in Louisiana, because I used to know a guy named turtleboy.

  • that snakes gonna out grow the 10 gallon quick

  • cool

  • zoo med

  • i agree, it looked really rough, the stuff you see for snakes looks really fluffy. but eather way it works out eather way.

  • i don't know wat kind of snake to get but i live in alaska and it is kind of cold up here!please respond

  • jaaxz this enclosure is fine, a snake does not need a basking spot that its not a must have, snakes dont requier alot of care a water bowl, a hide and a bedding is all they need

  • sorry...i have done research and now i know that that is fine, thanks

  • isnt aspen hamster shavings...

  • Pretty crappy job on the decorating. The hide is nice but ASPEN? And give your dog his water dish back!!! Give that snake a realistic setting to thrive in!!! Dont be cheap and try to make your enclosure a little more natural.....

  • whenever it needs it, usually about once a month.

  • Seriously, Once A month?! Wow...Now this will really convince my parents that i need a snake!

  • yeah just pick up poo and stuff when you see it though

  • Okay, thats really easy for me!

  • and when adults then only eat like once a week right?

  • yep

  • once a week or ucan feed it every 10 days

  • @Degrassi123 wow that some strong words from a guy thats username is degrassi123

  • @wingshooter206 Uhh alright? And you are..

  • @Degrassi123 my little guy ive had for 8 montsh and ive cleaned once, obviously id clean it if it was messy, but i just collect the waste and it remains quite clean.

  • how much does a ball python cost (baby)

  • id say around $80. thats how much they are at a petstore near my house for all of them, doesnt matter the age.

  • thnx man helped me out a lot

    :P

  • glad to hear!

  • about once a month but i take out things like poo, sheds and urates whenever i see them.

  • I was on a website about corn snakes and it says not to put that type of ground stuff in there couse it hurts there skin Is that true ?

  • i don't know how aspen could harm a snake.

the only bedding like aspen that could possibly harm a snake would be the cedar or pine beddings which carry oils that are harmful and deadly to snakes.

  • Oh ok

  • yeah i keep it on 24/7.

don't keep it on unless you have a cool spot for your snake to go if he want's to.

  • this okay for sand boa right

  • yep sure will.

  • you could have wasted less time by leaving a comment on a video that you saw useless.

  • borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring i hope the snake doesn't try to escape and also aspen bedding can be toxic to some snakes

  • snakes will always try and escape.

and how is aspen toxic to some snakes?

it may not be completely adequate for some, but not TOXIC

  • no it is toxic he's rite or maybe it's pine... i forget

  • yes. it's pine and cedar. not aspen.

  • i have got a 3ft tank is tht alright for 2 baby cornsnakes and a bearded dragon?

  • together?

  • MATE!! your listenin to black betty in the background!!! hahaha... me and ma mates always play drinkin games to that!! lol good times!!

    p.s. nice vid!!

  • haha thanks.

  • lol ,well

    keep making vids then=]

    i g2g sleep now here in holland:P

    cya

  • alright.

  • nice tank mate i am going for my pastel boa tomorrow i have got the btank and that i am really encited i am 11 and i cant wait

  • nice tank mate i am going for my pastel boa tomorrow i have got the btank and that i am really encited i am 11 and i cant wait

  • good luck with that guy.

  • but evry beginner knows it....u dont go get a snake if u dont know the basics ?

  • well obviously that is the case.

but it did help several people and to me, thats all that matters.

  • yes they do, so why u put it on utube?

  • why not?

    just a basic thing

  • every buddy knows to put a hide and water bowl in a enclosure...-.-

  • yes they do don't they......

  • woooaaahhh black betty bam bah lam. great vid. have two royal pyth's and basically same setup. they are ground inhabitants chrispuklicz....

  • i don't recomend you keep two ball pythons together but thanks!

  • definitely do not keep them together. they live better than i do though thats for sure!

  • lol. thanks alot.

  • i agree.

no dust, absorbent and no smell!

  • what's carefresh? I think I've seen it, is it like the cat litter that's all crystaly?

  • nope.

its sort of like aspen but a paper-based sort of thing.

it comes in colors and different varieties.

  • i actually dont even use aspen anymore lol.

i'm using carefresh for my older snakes because i've been getting a lot of dust in the aspen lately.

  • nice video good job

  • thanks!

  • that chris person needs to get a life

  • central africa yes.

west africa is a savannah type climate

  • i got it at a reptile store in town.

sorry i dont remember who made it

  • you realize snake like to climb right?? i like how you gave them a whopping 9 inches to climb and nothing to climb on i feel sorry for your snakes

  • ball pythons are ground dwellers.

  • chrispuklicz, yo should know your snakes alot better beforeyou comment. not all snakes like to climb. corns, some pythons and some balls like to climb but ball pythons dont. so dont go acting all kool and dissin people."i feel sorry for your snakes." im a fuck u up bitch.

  • thanks for the back up bro. haha

  • whos actin cool talkin tough on a computer i know mine just fine fine enough to know they like to climb come fuck me up any time buddy

  • That guy's just jealous.

  • and it should have 2 hiding spots. one on the warm side and one on the cold side.

  • another reason why i want to redo this video

  • aspen is not very good... it has dust in it wich can acctually cause breathing complications to the snake.

  • aspen bedding is used widely everywhere.

i do know what you are talking about though.

  • well thanks for your nice comment but ball pythons do not have any need for high humidity.

they live in west africa, if anything i suppose it could cause respritory problems.

  • no scientific evidence is shown that snakes benifit from uv radiation

  • that is the most simplistic tank construction i have ever witnessed.

  • simple is sometimes safer

  • high humidity when bps are in shed....

  • do you mean what is the temp on the warm side?

    or on the cold side?

    well ill give you both:

    warm side, 85

cold, room temp or about 70 degrees.

  • nothin about the heat or suitable decorations plants, branches, woods(cleaned)from a petshop, fish tank ornaments some like caves rocks etc.

  • another reason why i will be redoing this video.

  • WOW great vid, i would love a cron snake or a boa, but most ppl in my family dont like them so ill have to wait till i ave my own place lol

  • heat pads are more better for snakes than heat lamps as they use their belly heat to get energy and digest their food.

For such A high humidity snake such as the ball python you need to get A hydrometer, also get 2 digital thermometers for the cool and hot sides.

  • ball pythons do not require high humidity.

but i agree i should have mentioned hydromedters in the video.

i do not include heat pads in this video due to the burns my snakes have received due to faulty quality.

    just a personal preference.

my snakes still receive the heat needed for digestion from hides that i have which absorb heat emitted from the bulb.

  • reply to turtleboy5001:

sorry I usually only say something if I really know its true but this time it just slipped lol

I heard from someone that they are high humidity snakes but I guess they were wrong. I guess you only really need to have high humidity when they shed.

  • yeah that or a soak : ]

  • Ya black betty in back ground, damn that 20 gallin looks huge

  • the cage i am using is a 20 gallon long.

  • Nice vid... If you plan to keep a ball in it...Then a heat pad underneath would be needed(Which requires a thermostat as well...A corn may do very well, but balls are an african species which require a warmer climate than what most of us have in our own homes.(Low temps can lead to RI,or poor digestion.) Even with a heat lamp, the surface temperatures are still very low(Temp guns from rc hobby shops are great for checking the temps!..and fairly cheap too.)

  • thanks for your input.

i do have a temp gun and love it to death.

i choose heat lamps due to my experience with heat pads. i had one of my boas burned badly on her chin.

my temps do stay adequate for all my snakes though.

  • should be.

just play around with it though.

  • you can use a heating pad or a lamp with appropriate wattage heating bulb.

  • im not sure who it is by to tell you the truth.

any cage with a sliding lid with clips at the end will suffice. i will make a newer version of this explaining the lids.

  • no it is not big enough for a full grown ball.

a juvi to young adult yes.

but a full grown adult at about 4 foot or so no.

a thirty gallon breeder will be good for an adult.

that cage will cost about 50$ for the cage, and about 50 more for all the accesories.

give or take a few dollars.

  • could you put a corn snake in there??

  • most definitely.

  • I'm getting a bp for my B-day, and I'm wondering if they are selling Leucistics and this vid is really helpful! thanx man! and since my username is BallPythonlover, I'm a girl thats 10 years old and I love snakes, hope your surprised!

  • Aspen is one of the most used substrate for snakes, the idea is that you feed them in a container with no substrate, then put them back in there vivarium.

  • thank you.

i dunno whats wron with froglet lol

  • well if you dont feed them in there,

they have no reason to strike.

it has happened to me before but only because i was retarded.

  • thanks man if i ever get a snake ima come back to this vid 5/5 man
