  • Heima y más recientemente INNI (de Sigur Rós) son ese tipo de filmes que merecidamente se vuelven de culto al paso del tiempo. Totalmente recomendados.

  • what a voice!

  • What´s the name of the song in the trailer???? some helpp please!

  • @noirepanther13 Í Gær ("Yesterday")

  • @KarenRei THANNNNNNNNNNNNNKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Have a great day

  • Iceland <3

  • iceland is wonderland, oh Sigur Rós, they gave me many of the most beautiful moments of my life

  • Take a chance and see this movie. It's simply magic.

  • very cool!

  • catártico

  • @Tragon84 It's not as simple as men and women, though. Men can be great at "feminine" things and women can be great at "masculine" things; there are crossovers, and differences are more individual than they are male/female.

Inequality comes in when there are restrictions and barriers to how things play out in the real world. People will do things differently, but it's inequality if men can't become nurses and women can't become cops.

  • it should be noted to all those who feel an icelandic translator would help this band be relevant - their lyrics are not icelandic - they use a made up, non-literal language commonly referred to as 'hopelandic" to compose lyrics - it plays on the sounds of language collectively, lacking grammar, meaning, and even distinct words - similar to scatting in jazz - the non-language uses the melodic and rhythmic elements of singing without the conceptual content of language. the music transcends.

  • @tjkuehl21 LMAO people thought it was real language. What are they fucking retards

  • @tjkuehl21 About 50% of their songs are in Icelandic though. Most of "Takk" is icelandic and the "()" album is in hopelandic. Not sure about the rest...

  • Iceland is such an amazing and awe-inspiring country. Culture, history, music, heritage-anything that comes from that country is nothing less than breathtakingly beautiful. I feel that Icelandic people are so in tune with nature, art and music while the rest of the world is forgetting how much beauty there is in the world, and forgetting how to appreciate everything in life.

  • I love this song!

    From Brazil!

  • magnificent

  • What's the name song please? :)

  • @GrSfan I Gaer

  • @eunisgrc Thx :)

  • i will never get over that snare then...

  • Iceland is so indescribably beautiful.

  • Simply sublime! I love Sigur Ros. Powerfull sound and very "green"inspiration also :) Very inovative. Wish that all the group were as grounded as Sigur Ros... They play music for the love of music, not for the star system.

  • Oh gawd it's so good!

  • it is a beautiful film, and it reminds me alot of Triumph des Willens

  • I wish I could've had the opportunity to see them in concert. . . maybe one day. So wondrous.

  • it's terrible to watch such a beautiful video, then read your nonsense about men and women;it's about sensibility and fine art, and it goes from person to person, you obviously don't have any idea of the message which is in between the lines of this magical non-textual Music, if you have to discuss please do not do it here and bother the peaceful aura of Iceland and Sigur Ros

  • 2:58

    What more can be said?

  • I actually watched Heima on the flight to Iceland, it was such a beautiful film, and an amazingly beautiful country.

I actually got to see the Sigur Rós studio, through the window anyway aha :)

I will always want to go back to Iceland <3

  • i love the way this conversation turned from being about promo heima to men vs women: the abstract hornby edition. Props to the comments!

  • great music, Frábær tónlist : D

  • rapiergirl, there are some. Check out Patti Smiths for example. She is both a great singer and poet; on par with Nick Cave. Or Siouxsie and the Banshees, though the personnel behind Siouxsie (and also Patti) are men. But I can mention historial women, too: Clara Schumann or George Sand. The basic reason I think is that women are often more concerned with being liked by the audience, being succesful on stage than the real deep content. Maybe it is not PC talking, but my experience.

  • Sorry, not Patti Smiths, but Smith

  • screw PC

  • how can I say in icelandic: Great music!

  • google translator

  • why don't women make such kind of music with such impact...why don't women do more things that are powerful and strong, also in art......? :-(

  • ha ha ha - dream on!

  • OMG are you serious? LOL!! You are ridiculous! Not worthy of another keystroke from me. Bye bye!

  • @iqlm1992 - haha okay you obviously have no idea what you are talking about, especially in the realm of science. the most important scientific discovery in the past 100 years was the discovery of the double helical structure of dna in 1953, which was discovered by a woman. watson and crick (both men who worked in the same lab) took the credit, but admitted it shortly before their death. and all the men you have named were obsessed with women lol it was thier inspiration in one way or another

  • '..DNA was first isolated by the Swiss physician Friedrich Miescher who, in 1869, discovered a microscopic substance in the pus of discarded surgical bandages...' Please, now every important discover in the world was made by a woman, that's hilarious lol, I Do know what I'm talking about, you have the same answer like everybody else.. Inspiration or hypotheticals confessions before death..and obsession has nothing to do with this, that is a typical brainless answer

  • hahahaha you fucking idiot. of course dna was isolated a long ass time ago but they had no idea what the structure was. its pretty much like hearing someone speak another language; its cool and all but it isnt worth shit if you dont understand what theyre saying. and she would have got the nobel prize but it cant be awarded posthumously(big word, google it). but congratulations on copy and pasting a random wikipedia article that has the word DNA in it lol. anything else? id be happy to enlighten

  • Of course I copied. Yes, sure, they had no idea.. please, go wash some dishes or try to do something helpful... but I guess that's imposible

  • first of all im a guy, just not an ignorant one like you. and any time not spent studying in nursing school is devoted to volunteer work at hospitals, so dont tell me to do something helpful when you wouldnt even be able to describe the word

  • Google Amiina. Nuff said :P

  • Men and women can be good at different things. Some kinds of music or songs are suited for women and some for men and some for both. I really dislike feminist that wants to force everyone to deny this. Difference is good and it does not have to mean inequality. Im not saying that that is your opinion.

Anyhow I disagree, I think there are female singers that do powerful and strong music. There are, atleast, several swedish female singers that make very good and powerful music, imo.

  • @Tragon84 For example I could say Iwrestledabearonce and Arch Enemy (They are not Swedish but still, strong female vocalists.)

  • Comment removed

  • @Tragon84 you delude yourself in believing that there is such a stark differentiation. while it is subjectively understandable that men and women 'can be good at different things', your position of enforcing that there is a gender basis for musical classification is fraught with ignorance. if the musical experience is representative of one's tentative conception of artistry, then what is to DELINEATE such a representation as being male or female? what justifies classifying on the basis of sex?

  • Can't heard enough of it - keep amazes me. Great artists...

  • What is the song that kicks in at 1:01 ?

  • Í Gær

  • Thanks heaps! wow..

  • Its the same song throw the trailer, called "I Gær" meening "Yesterday"

  • This is really good movie 4 me:)),i like it:)

  • best music film ever

  • Beautiful.

Iceland is the most breath taking place on earth. Natural beauty, nothing added and nothing taken away, one of the worlds diamonds. Sigur Rós is simply the product of beauty.

    Sigur Rós forever.

  • Beautiful. I must have this.

  • this sound stirs my body happily without letting me forget that happiness is ephemeral...

  • lucky man

they will never come to brazil :(

  • Comment removed

  • the only thing I can see where they have something in common is in the fact that they both sort of got that shoegaze-like/post rock kind of hazy-ness to them. But that's only in like...a handful of Deftones songs...they're too different otherwise. I like them both though.

  • the song called I Gaer

  • sorry whats the song called in this video??

  • amazing!!!

  • I watched this movie just yesterday and during last song, performed in Reykjavik, I felt like I was in some strange, different world...It is very emotional movie, it has a lot of different emotions, some moments made me LOL and some even cry...and it is not just about great band and its great music, it is also a great movie. I was touched by this. I would call it tribute to Iceland itsefl by tribute to its best band. *IN LOVE*

  • what's that acoustic guitar?

the one that the vocal's using?

  • It's a bowed guitar. Basically a normal guitar, but played with a violin stick.

  • This song is unbelievable beautiful..! It's so magical and somehow misterious...It's beyond words that can even describe of what beauty it is...! such a cold but also warm atmosphere..

    Sigur Ros are beautiful...!

Everybody should Check out the Band called "Nyctalgia" and their songs "Time changed everything" and "falling into Nothingness"!

Great music in the veins of Yann Tiersen,Mogwai,Sigur Ros.

  • I love this trailer. I have watched it a million times. I have the double disk version of the movie and its not on there. I am not pleased!

  • One of the greatest films I've ever seen. 5/5.

  • i never knew them till a friend of mine sent this song called HEIMA. i just...lost it,i swear. it was something really alternative, original, honest, moving. something that u could call music.

love sigur ros..yes, HEIMA means at home and i love being heima

love u guys. keep it up !

  • omfg.. I actually didn't even see the trailer until after I ordered the DVD.. now I'm even more pumped to watch it

  • It's weird because when Sigur Rós perform in countries like the UK, Iceland or Australia, they can make like 10.000 to come to their show. but when they performed in my town (Gothenburg), only 50 people showed up. must have been embarrasing for them.

  • I don't think they really care:).The most important that those 50 people have enjoyed their concert.

  • That's the whole point of the film.....

If only two people showed up, Sigur Ros would have been just as much honored to play for them. It's not about filling seats and all that commercial bullshit for them, it's about loving what you do and being around people who share that same passion with you.

  • really only 50 people showed up in gothenburg? i thought they were big in scandanavia

  • 50 people most important than 10.000 people when you like your job!.. :)

  • what's the name of that song? there is no such a song in that movie: /

  • I Gær. It's on the Hvarf side of Hvarf / Heim, track 3.

  • Just wonderful...I could die peacefully listening to this amazing song that makes me shiver and cry of happiness each time I listen to it!!!!

  • That really awesome rock song in the middle, which one is that?

  • "I Gær" its on the hvarf/heima album

  • cool !!! :P

  • It's my dream too.... I loved this film, Everyone: watch it.

  • can u guys imagine it's one of my dreams to see them live?

  • They're fabulous live. Do your best to make that dream come true.

  • I've seen them they are amazing !! It's just so beautiful

  • wow!

  • like no other..

  • I am in love with this.

  • Holy hell.

    Iceland is beautiful.

    I love Sigur Ros.

  • bellissimo inventare una lingua per fare in modo che l'unica sua espressione sia suono...stop!!

  • I saw the movie in rein, In the middle of rigas old town, and it was sooo. Without names. I cant describe. I just felt. And it was outside, for people in streets. Wonderful. btw it was in the midnight....

  • Care to read 5 comments below?

  • I actually finished listening to Ágætis byrjun a bit ago (first Sigur Ros album for me) and it was something and seeing this, makes me want to get more of them and to get this.

  • I know, they're so addicting, right?!

I heard one of their songs in a video game trailer and ever since I've had an insatiable thirst for more.

  • What the hell. A trailer for which game?

  • That'd be the new Prince of Persia game trailer... It uses Saeglopur :D It was described by Yahtzee... that description doesn't warrant writing here... :P I still love it

  • Yup, prince of persia (4/Next-Gen/whatever).

  • Thanks to this video, I'm addicted to Í Gær and I walked to the store in 90 degree weather to buy their new album. v_v

  • i live in Nebraska USA and it gets to be 110 here. in the summer. isnt' that crazy.

  • Get into them. You'll never be the same afterward.

  • Little late for that.

  • Okay.

  • Beautiful.

  • I went to their concert in Iceland about a year and half ago, ish, and it was amazing. Never before have I gone to a concert where a white, almost see-through curtain is hung up in front of the stage. Just phenomenal.

  • This song is brilliant, whats the name of this song?

  • Gosh, Iceland is so... magic and beautiful!

Sigur Ros rox. I love them (:

  • how so?

  • I'm very found of scandinavian culture, but they are xenophobic alright.

  • You're pathetic.

  • really? why do you say that? I'm really curious

  • name 1 culture thats not

its a human issue, not islandic

  • Ahoj, včera jsme si udělali díky panu Pekařovi z OPO na samotě Vostrí pěkný promítání právě tohoto projektu. Bylo to velmi pozitivní a pěkné, někdy možná až moc. Díky Sigur Rose vko from Třebíč, CZE
