  • Morgan Freeman is the sole reason to see this movie! He displays Mandela's vision for peace and unity throughout the film. He sought for the greater good for the people of South Africa.

  • Nelson Mandela specifically wanted Morgan Freeman to play him

  • Should have gotten Eddie Murphy or Tyler Perry to play Mandela

  • Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman, can create miracles)

  • Morgan Freeman, best actor on earth

Was a wise choice Nelson Mandela, Morgan Freeman =

It is a great representative of the many love you, man!

  • @xip09 it's rugby , not American foot ball, and south africa are internationally recognised for being good at it .

  • Amazing film.

Big respect to the motherland and the whole of Africa in general.

  • Morgan FREEMAN plays Nelson Mandela....Wise choice

  • 1:29 so the experts were right ^^

  • damn nice this show!

  • Poor lomu he was the best rugby player to never win the world cup

  • Director Client Eastwood???

  • MANU!

  • what is the name of the song that begins at 1:19

  • @TheNightmareAssasin its a isiZulu song it means " come grandpa lets go to the ball game" i was born there and know the history well

  • Watching this because I'm going to see it in a couple minutes and I want to see if it's good. Looks like it.

  • omg! when it ended i started crying my dad (an afrikaaner)took me to see that movie and when i saw this today i felt closer to him even though we are so far apart

  • i knew the poem invictus before i saw the trailer, and it always reminded me of the title of this movie. then yesterday i saw the trailer for the first time when i had my sherlock holmes dvd in and i was like OHHHH MYYY GODDDD. YES. YEEEEEEES.

  • damn , last time i searched for this i got the author doing a reading it seems Morgan has vomited out dome shite film in the meantime now this crap is all you get, shame on morgan. hes a good orator this is just weak.

  • TO ALL AMERICANS(U.S.A) RUGBY IS A REAL SPORT NOT AMERICAN FOOTBALL

  • @isaaccontractor that is from someone who doesn't know anything about football I guess. I used to live in South Africa 3 years ago so I know a lot about rugby, I still like it, but I can honestly tell you football is A LOT BETTER and I am not american!

  • Why is their an apple logo in the bottom right of this video? is it like steve jobs ghost or something?

  • just watched this movie. the all blacks being cast as the bad guys was pretty annoying. there were certain things that happened in this tournament us kiwis aren't too happy with.

  • @tommymonsternz Don't think they were shown as the bad guys, but rather the opponents. This film isn't about Springbox vs. All Blacks so much as the inner struggles on South Africa at the time.

Everybody knows the All Blacks are an awesome team, then and now. The movie doesn't change that.

  • @dixie31623 did you see andrew merthens hair cut? they were hardout trying to make the ab's the baddies. jonah was the boogie, bunch of maarees doing the worst haka ever seen. totally making them out to be baddies, it's science.

  • they shouldn't have omitted the food poisoning incident

  • Get this straight. The Springbox won this fair and square. As a Kiwi, I had a big bet on the All Blacks at 5/1. Australia 5/2 were expected to win the Cup. The Springbox cantained Lomu very well, and that's what won for them. Prior he had run over everyone, including a cat (Mike Catt) and even "big Gavin" Hastings. It was a tie and went into extra time. The Springbox won as they were better. I was very pleased, as it make South Africa great, and that is what this film says. Great film too.

  • It's so typical of South Africans to start trolling about sport...Seriously, it should be a National Passtime or something...

  • @TimeMultiplyTide Yeah I don't understand how people can dislike this...Nelson Mandela was actually a really good president, unlike the current one, Zuma, if SA can get another Mandela, they will really grow.

  • Not a bad attempt at the South African 'Afrikaans' accent. Morgan Freeman did sound simular to Mandela at times. I should rent this out, since it's fun watching how Americans view South Africa. I think I was on a plane ride to Joburg during the winning match.

  • ALL BLACKS FOR LIFE!!!

  • isn't the master of my fate thing from pirates of the carbian?

  • fucking dogs woof woof

  • Where the fuck was the mention of the All Blacks getting food poisoning from their hotel food?

  • @nibib123 Bro I know right All Blacks still won this world cup btw are you a kiwi

  • @wrestler270 Yeah I am, at least we won 2011 :)

  • @nibib123

French team in semi final got poisoned as well... The referee who later was offered a gold watch refused two tries to the French and gave one from nowwhere to the South Africans.

Back then the final should have been France vs New Zealand. South Africa got the tittle through bribes and cheating. It's all what you get when sport is corrupted by politics.

This movie is the perfect showcase how people are manipulated by our media, hollywood and our politicians and politcal correctness.

  • clint eastwood is a living legend...

  • Morgan Freeman=The best actor

  • @TheBluewrestler I agreed Morgan Freeman is good actor...How come he never have a Star role...I noticed he is support actor...I wonder why...just curious.

  • @TheBluewrestler bollocks. gary oldman is the best actor.

  • when I saw this movie I almost cry, it's beautiful!!!!!!!!!

  • great acting by morgan freeman. but forest whitaker is stunning in the last king of scotland as he really transformed into an african and thus winning the oscar.

  • great movie! apart from the fact they left out how half the all blacks had food poisoning. some foul play.....

  • i got goose-pimples when i saw this movie!

morgan freeman and matt damon are great!

  • GO SPRINGBOKS

  • Terrible movie to be honest.Maybe it was good for those who werent entriely familiar with the story, but watching this after reading playing the enemy and seeing the 30 for 30 documentary this movie was awful.

  • @DrinkMoxie9000 and are you from South Africa? Well was born there, and lived there for 18 years. as you said that you werent entirely familiar with the story until you watched the 30 for 30 doc.. let me tell you something, you dont entirely understand the story until you actually lived these events and was there. you have no idea what it was like when we had apartheid. this was an extraordinary film.

  • @TheDollz6 No im not south african but theres quite a few Afrikaners in my town and ive heard stories from them. Settle down franck ribery, all im saying is it gave the very basics of what actually happened,it doesnt go nearly as deep as playing the enemy or any other documentary.

  • @DrinkMoxie9000 yes but it was not about playing the enemy. It was about how how country united after apartheid with the RWC. i agree with you that there was no depth about what actually happened, but it was not a movie about what happened during apartheid but how we came as one. Frank Ribery my ass.

  • @TheDollz6 I understand that, all im saying is that its annoying that it gives no background to how all of this came about. I know people that have watched it without knowing the story and they had no idea what was happening, then they read and watched the other stuff and then they understood it.

  • @DrinkMoxie9000 yeah i understand that. that is true.

  • @keiran1990able well he was portraying a south african......

  • matt damon!!!(0 0) he changed accent in this movie......

  • They missed the part where they poisoned the New Zealand team before the final

  • @LeRobusier Why the hell do you think that?????

  • @TracesofGold10 It's actually quite a common belief, it's fact that a lot of the All Blacks got sick before the game from food poisoning, however as someone who hates rugby as a sport, i couldn't care less.

  • Im the The Ku Klux Klan leader muahhaha. thumbs up

  • @TimeMultiplyTide wow u hit it right on the money why cant this generation appreciate a real movie experience i cant lie yes i like a little surround from time to time but this is true filmaking right here

  • Beautiful movie , I like !!!!!!!!

    from France .

  • I just finish reading this book for a Uconn high school course (college course) and all i can say, perfect down to the last detail. Some might say Book > Movie, Others Movie>Book, However; me I say Book = Movie. Both 10/10.

  • Remember this day boys...this is the day our country went to the dogs...what a line!!!!

  • I am the master of my bait, I am the captain of my soul.

  • 21 people are part of The Ku Klux Klan

  • @XlamboX100 no, 24 people are part of the AWB.

  • @Xerxes845 nah I bet KKK disliked it :(

  • @XlamboX100 the KKK are not from South Africa

  • @kingwilliam14 really??? I didn't know that(sarcasm)

  • @XlamboX100

  • @XlamboX100 And the three others are part of the neo-nazi party?

  • I can tell you that in first I was bored by the movie, but at the end I was blown away, it is just a legendary movie, pure greatness! Like if you agree

  • "I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul." Gosh I got goosebumps when I heard this phrase in the movie.

  • I am the master of my fate;

I am the captain of my soul

  • Amazing movie

  • Love the south-african words in the film,

    it really sound like dutch!

    good morning: English

    goed morgn: South African

    goede morgen: Ducht

  • @brechteketje *Dutch

  • Best song and film. Beautiful! Thanks for posting this.

  • ''according to the experts, you and i should still be in jail'' Hilarious!

  • This movie is not about if the all blacks should have won or that England is so much better, it is about one of the greatest men to have ever been on this planet. He brought a nation together after years in a tiny cell and he was only in the jail after trying to make all people equal. He could have oppressed the white people after he became president but he didn't because he was above that. Nelson Mandela is an amazing person and my hero

  • I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.

  • TRULY INSPIRATIONAL MOVIE, AND BASED ON TRUE EVENTS (LIKE THE RUGBY WIN)

  • for those of you who don't know it yet: all blacks got pwned.

  • This film looks promising.

  • who really gives a shit if they were poisoned, the all blacks should of won but they didn't .I will always support the greatest rugby nation in the world,ALL BLACKS, will have their time once again, 2011 WORLD CUP CHAMPS

  • @azfdic0930 haha i don't think so. England all the way! We won the 6 nations so we can win the world cup! u r not as good as u think!

  • @littlemissweetxx England won the six nations, but the ALL BLACKS have all the trophies that matter, except one.Besides England dont even have a team in the SUPER 15 , thats right only real RUGBY NATIONS get a look, lol, GO THE ALL BLACKS

  • @azfdic0930 England have won the world cup and made finals no?

  • @TheReyman93 england won the world cup in 2003, they beat australia in the final.

  • @tommymonsternz i know that lol i was being sarcastic

  • i just watches ESPN's 16th man documentary ...it was so touching...and now i'm gonna watch this amazing story

  • I am not a south african . The film is so touching. I am proud of the south africa !

  • True story + favourite sport(rugby) = great movie.

  • is the movie exactly like mandella's life or they added some things ?

  • this is awesome. so touching.

  • captain morgan freeman

  • I haven't even watched this movie, but i liked it because i know when i do watch it in a sec it will be brilliant

  • es grande simplemente es grande es Madiba es Nelson Mandela...

  • New zealand played it's role to end apartheid

    in South Africa.

We as a tiny nation cared so much about Nelson Mandela's

ambition for a united South Africa! :D

    Peace.

  • watched in geography today

  • i just started playing rugby for my high school team. all i can say is... funnest sport ever!! cant wait to see this movie

  • @antwanio555

Playing since I was, 5 Now I'm 16. Best. Sport. Ever. Well, that or sailing.

  • @antwanio555 funnest?? explain?

  • @antwanio555 Yeah, I am the rugby team at my high school, and I love it! Great sport

  • there is no sport better than rugby. and this movie is so inspiring

  • I love this movie and I love rugby, But I do have to say as much as I LOVE Matt Damon, I don't think he was right for this part, I just kept thinking "It's not quite right" When he was on, not dissing Matt's acting because he is amazing and I'd never say otherwise, just not right for THIS one. :/

  • When ever Morgan Freeman talks i get chills

  • A+ movie

  • i'm so pissed i didn't see this in 2010 there's so much other crap movies that comes before these kinds of movies. =(

  • @netlogboy it's an amazing film

  • How come they didn't show in the movie how they took the All Blacks out for dinner the night before the final, and the next day they all had food poisoning..... Jeff Wilson was vomiting on the field.

  • @ecconz listen here m8, I have had food poisoning a few times in my life and belive me that once you are struck by that bug you cant stand up straight for more than 5 seconds, let alone play an 80 min rugby match. Stop your whining, you lost just like you lost in every other world cup since.

  • @SteenkampG Haha I'm listening mate! I have had food pointing too. It depends on the food you get it from as to the severity.

Seems odd though, that just about our whole team were crook, and vomiting on the field after they attended a meal with you guys.

You're right about us not winning since, maybe next year though :-)

  • its so wonderful that SA won the world cup. really was symbolic of new beginning for a great country & so surprising to the rest of the world just like Mandela´s election.

  • Canada needs those fighter jets, people who don't see the Canadian political ad the NDP stuck at the beginning of this vid

  • who the fck dislikes this movie?!

  • @gangadarits

The ones who are realistic and do not close their eyes for reality?

  • @gangadarits u mad?

  • @gangadarits I don't know but aren't they entitled to an opinion?

Maybe they think the film doesn't do the real story justice, maybe they found it uninteresting, maybe they found it sensationalist or maybe they had some other reason for disliking it.

Without diversity of opinion (ESPECIALLY unpopular opinion) the world would be a dull and unevolving place, and we wouldn't have heroes like Nelson Mandela.

  • @gangadarits I suspect the kiwis have some mixed feelings given the fact the bulk of their squad mysteriously came down with food poioning the day before the final

  • @gangadarits apparently 17 people.

  • @gangadarits dumb football hooligans /?

  • @gangadarits

Those who knows South Africans cheated during the world cup in 1995...

That movie is just pure propaganda bullshit anyway.

  • @dunedain101 Whatever makes you happy... Just one question, who won the world cup both 1995 and 2007? (I guess according to you they would've cheated in 2007 as well)... Just the name of the country will do.

  • @NZxASSASSIN

Dude don't be mad... They cheated in 1995, both against the French and the All Blacks.

Don't care much if they won in 2007, good for them anyway. Yet in 1995, the political stake won over sportsmanship.

  • @NZxASSASSIN

Whatever makes YOU happy. They gave a gold watch to the referee who denied two tries to the French and gave one for free to South Africa during the quarterfinal, yet South Africa only won by 4 points.

During the final all the All Blacks had been poisoned for a whole week before the final, they all suffered food poisoning 48h before the final ...

And you still think they didn't cheat. Next, you're going to tell me South Africa isn't turning to the next Haiti...

    laughingwhore.jpg

  • @dunedain101 It was the refs fault as well. And if South Africa keeps going the way its going then it will turn into the next Rhodesia (aka shitty Zimbabwe now) as well... I'm not saying they didn't cheat I just hope that it never happens again and get sick whenever people keep bringing it up... Its just like in 2007, all my kiwi mates were complaining how France apparently cheated with a forward pass that made the All Blacks loose.

  • @NZxASSASSIN

Well yeah I think you're right.

Yet I find it disturbing how Hollywood always changes history to make propagandist movies, as good as the movie itself is, it still misinforms the population and shape their way of thinking.

  • @dunedain101 Now I totally agree with you.

  • @dunedain101 suree buddy what ever helps you sleep at night

  • @dj5o5o5

I sleep very well at night thank you.

But hey if you believe that French and New Zealand entire teams suffering from food poisoning before their match against South Africa, and one of the referee, whose arbitration was blatantly in favor of SouthAfrica "like refusing tries to the French", getting a gold watch from Mandella is pure coincidence... Well good for you, brah.

It's ridiculous. Obvious propaganda, or how history is rewritten. Meanwhile South Africa is turning into deep shit.

  • @gangadarits me bitch

  • @gangadarits

the 1995 new zealand national rugby team?

  • @gangadarits there are 23 dicks

  • search 12 year old terrorist trailer it is amazing and under rated

  • All i can say is that the all blacks were food poisoned before the last game - I saw Jeff Wilson vomiting on side line after the match - unsure if it was intentional or not but they did have food poisoning! But the all blacks did loose so congrats to the SA team and this is an awesome and moving movie! But one thing, we may have lost the World cup but I can say that the All Black are the Number 1 team and have been #1 longer than any other rugby team in the world!

  • everyone shud search colorblind-invictus, i think it shud hav been the trailer

  • i know this movie is stunning because of mandela and the story. but i think the almost the entire movie was about 'the dramatization of how the south africa won the rugby world cup'. but overall, fantastic. :)

  • All Blacks fans commenting about poisoning etc...have you stopped to think what bad losers you sound like? Take it like men...you were beaten by a side that was mentally stronger on the day...not necessarily better. You just make your country and your side look like they have no integrity and class when you keep on bitching like you do.

  • I watched this movie in a South African cinema... not a dry eye in the house by the end of it. Full grown men were crying, and I don't mean one glistening tear... I mean uncontrollable sobs. Beautiful movie!

  • My birth date is 13/5/1987. 13/5 was the score of the 1st test between these 2 great rivals which the All Blacks won back in 1921. Im a passionate AB fan and have been since I watched them for the 1st time in that World Cup final back in 95. I was 8 at the time I recall very little but vividly remember the heart ache I felt when we lost. Its taken me many years later to realise it is an honour for the All Blacks to be apart of a signifficant day in South African history

    May the rivalry continue

  • No racism!! Love everyone and everyone will be friendly to you =)

  • The opening scene in this film set the whole tone for it PERFECTLY.

  • KI FILME OTIMO UAI

  • The All Blacks did get food poisoning, but the players don't neccesarily believe it was intentional or some conspiracy to win the cup.

Can't say the rugby scenes were that great to watch and a little dull.

Nonetheless from what I've seen of the movie (and I've liked Clint's other films) it seems to carry through the right message and portray South Africa and Mandela quite accurately and quite close to the book. Some things like the music etc are a little overkill but otherwise pretty good.

  • @AlfTheTroll to be honest, I kinda liked the music, and some scenes where i little over done but overall it's a very good movie, and emotional wise was it perfect! you really see the struggle and the task that is thrown to the springboks. And i dunno about the food poisening but Jonah Lomu sais it isn't true, and i think we can trust on the big man :) and if they had food poisening they played a hell of a game..

  • what is the music used in the trailer

  • Its funny how they never mention the fact that All Blacks were food poisoned the night before the final. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story I guess
