As I'm sure you are aware the sounds emmited by the theremin were very similar to the sounds emmited by an angry cat. I don't think he liked that much.
Hi, I was wondering why you didn't get the two-antennae version? I didn't know a one-antennae version existed. Do you listen to/compose/play much theremin music? (I posted on your 'In My Native Language' video btw.) Is it interesting to 'hear' what your hands are doing? Also, do you ever modify/distort the sound that comes out or is it always like that?
oh, im surorised i never heard of one before, ;-) okay cool, oh by the way i hope your feeling better i know you said you w ere having neck and back issues ? im glad to hear from and hope your doig better
i like your new layout on your web page, pretty cool ;-)
You got the attention of my two cats. Even Tigger who was assuming his usual pose of laying down in his favorite chair, had to sit up and check things out. My cats thank you:)
I'm learning. Just finally got a volume pedal (don't have one of the standard two-antenna kind at this point, so having to make do).
And absurdly happy that everyone's comments finally showed up. For awhile there I couldn't see anyone's comments, including the one I made, and therefore couldn't approve anything.
that was awesome! I've wanted a theremin for a few years now but haven't wanted to fork out the $400 or so for one. I never thought of having my cat play with one. Is your cat's name, Jimmy Page?!?! hehe
Can you "actually play it", or do you just mess around with it? Wouldn't a theremin be an awesome instrument for autistic people because of the whole aspect of the hand motions?
It'd be useful for some, aggravating for others. I'm learning to play it, but it's slow going because I only have the single-antenna one and it requires a foot pedal for volume, which hurts my legs too much.
That CAT ROCKS! whens the album release? Nice job playin it off puss,we all know cats are natural theremin virtosos......

I dig this. This looks like it would be a fun gizmo to play with. You should check out the singing tesla coil here on youtube. It's AMAZING.

Two-antenna versions are more expensive.

Are you farting there?
Deelhs 4 years ago
No, that's what happens with the theremin's lowest noise. :-)
silentmiaow 4 years ago
I was joking, I'm aware it was the theremin.
Wouldn't mind one myself though, although I could easily add a theremin module for my modular synth.

It's an electronic musical instrument played in the air around it.

the sounds remind me almost of two cats about to have a heated "discussion" of sorts

My goodness. That sounded like Dr. Who theme in a kind of polynomial refactored way.

FYI, the reason anyone's comments aren't appearing is because for some reason I can't seem to SEE them in order to approve them.

That was funny! Do yiu play the Theremin?
I have a Theremin too, but my cat does not like it. When i start practicing she nearly goes crazy and then she runs away.

He's so cute! I looked at my own cats to see if they would react to the theremin. No luck there. They're still asleep. :-)

I'd never heard of that instrument before, but your cat plays it very well!

You should look up some of the videos on here of people *actually* playing it well, like Lydia Kavina. They're pretty amazing.
