  • what killed it was the damn disney folks choosing blu-ray over hd dvd ....damn kiddie movies ruined it for all of usss

  • I agree hay-ch dvd is still good lol. I have Blu-rays and I got HD DVDs. I liked them both. HD DVDs are very cheap now. The only thing is that when your player dies, you will have to pay a lot to get another one and one day there will be no more HD DVD players. I still can't believe that HD-DVD is like VHS.

  • I have both a Blu Ray (PS3), and an HD DVD player (Toshiba HD-A35). They both play my movies in 1080p, and to my eye they both display the exact same picture and audio quality. The only difference is in price. I buy HD DVD movies for a querter of the price of Blu Ray movies. And so I own more HD DVD than Blu Ray movies. It's a bargain, same movies, lower cost. To me HD DVD is still alive. Good shit mate.

  • @laleydeLA19 Cheers!

  • I still Buy HD DVD and just purchased another new player. Check my Vidz! I have A Blu Ray player and a ton of BD but It's cheaper to buy HD DVD and there R some titles that R still not on BD but on HD DVD. :)

  • well all a have to say is i think its a good point if you cant afford a BR player and i also have a 360 and a PS3 and if i was to sell one itd be the PS3

  • Why did you buy a HD DVD player? Its an inferior format with smaller capacity and was basically dead from the start. I mean come on, it was clear from day one that blu ray would win.

  • Just because it was slightly inferior doesn't mean it was going to lose. Take Betamax and VHS for instance.

  • But betamax lost because of mismanagement. Announcing BD into the PS3 sealed the deal. More BD players would get sold then HD DVD players thus meant more BD discs would get sold and rented. Which is exactly what happened.

I bought both a 360 and a PS3 at launch. 360 RROD and I sold the 360 but idk it was just so obvious even back then which format would win.

  • Very true. Initially HD-DVD had just as big movie names unfortunately they lost them later on. But anyway I didn't actually buy it because it was a present.

  • well in that case its all good

...typo i sold both the ps3 and the 360 but bought only a replacement 360 (h3 edition of course)

  • @SovietSlayer 5d dvd holds more data , it can hold up to 10 tb, i think microsoft should use it for the xbox 720

  • @SovietSlayer 5d dvd holds 1.6-10 TB

  • Here in Canada you can buy the Xbox drive for $10 brand new and moves frequently pop up at various stores for $5 Canadian a piece, way cheaper than the DVD of the same movie so why not, I bought at least 50 of them for $5.

  • I just bought one off ebay (an xbox hd dvd drive) and i'm very happy with it $95 Oz delivered with 5 movies i have since bought heaps more for a couple of $'s each.

In my opinion well worth the purchase.

    And good videos man.

  • Nice one!

    Thanks!

  • i bought me one off ebay for $31.oo came with 4 movies

  • Interesting I was considering getting the gamestation deal

Just don't think i'd use it enough

  • I use Final Cut Express for editing my videos.

    Cheers!
