You don't understand the concept of "host" in a game of gears of war. You see, lets say player A has host, and player B obviously doesn't. Player B has to lead their shots by an arbitrary amount based on how much lag the game has. Player A just shoots when the cursor is on their head. Headshot. If player A and B fire a shot at the same time, player A's shot gets priority, and gets the kill. So basically, in a game between players of similar skill, the outcome is fundementally dependent on host

Reduce screen lag? It does nothing of the sort. You merely have it turned on so that, in the instance someone shoots you with the shotty, blood doesn't splatter on your screen, which would indicate you are hosting. I would assume that, were it turned on, we would see that happen quite a bit <_<
