I remember this from the first time I played this back in the late 90s when it first came out on PS1 disk. you go inside and its abandoned and you get a map and such. THen you search the rooms for red liquid and such. Once you got to the elevator and you checked the 2nd and 3rd floor and you re-enter and check the buttons the 4th floor mysteriously appeared and well you know you were in for some deep doo doo.

Me: "elevator and see where to go next." *looks at the buttons* F: "o.o uh... rach.." M: "what?"

F: "was the fourth floor button there before?" M: "fourth flo.... no 0.0" F: "well go on press it"

M: "here how about we take turns, you play now." F: "oh no, no way, your console, your game, you play!"

to me this sounds like a patient walking down the halls with their heavy iv machines and heart monitors connected to them cause of the dragging sounds but this is so cool and its relaxing. i want to fall asleep! @__@

The hospital was really freaky for me when I had gone to all the floors in the elevator, then I was thinking "Where the hell am I supposed to go now?" and then I noticed the fourth floor button. My first thought was "Fuck, that wasn't there before, was it? Oh god..." Then I pushed it, and freaked out that I was in the Otherworld again.

God i remember the hospital,going up the elevator and the world changing to hell and scaring me.

Every part made me tense in the hospital.

This is far the scariest soundtrack in SH1. The repetitive weird sound at 0:28

I remember the first time I played through this and got to the hospital and THAT button appeared. I remember saying to myself "Wait a minute, there's wasn't a f... Ah shit".

Nothing gets close to the fear in the early Silent Hill series.

This was a perfect place for the game- the way it was creepy even when nothing was around. When it was foggy, no monsters around, but it was still unnerving to be in. Then when the 4th Floor appears- man thats why I LOVE Silent Hill!!!!

This fits in perfectly with the start of Alchemilla hospital, for me this music sets an eerie tone of forebodding,a sense of almost emptyness within the hospital but gives an umpleasant indication that through the foggyness somthing dark lies in the distance you just cant see it yet!

Yeah, when you're going through the hospital, the music slowly gets more and more threatening every minute, the further you get. It's awesome.
