That is true, as a European, I remember the days pre 9/11 when everybody loved the States. The Bush regime has turned the rest of the world against the States. World leaders such as Tony Blair etc.. may have sided with Bush, but they don't reflect the feelings of the common man. As a born American I find it frightening that the once great country of the USA, has been turned into the worlds most hated country by a few men in power.

At 1st I wanted to offer hope that if the Democrats win in 08 that things will get better. And they will in a lot of ways. But conscience-less corporations will still do their evil to the world no matter what. As Bill has said, the real definition of fascism is corporations running the government, that's what America is no matter what party is in power.

Well I think its pretty clear at this stage in the Iraq fiasco that the world WAS a much safer place with Saddam Hussein in power. There was no civil war before. Iraq was no training ground for al qaida before. Iran was not the most powerful country in the middle east before. Saudi Arabia was still our ally before. Million of Iraqis were not willing to blow themselves up just to kill Americans before. 3000 American troops and hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis were still alive before.

I like Scarborough and Maher, but the no fly zone was not effective in Southern Iraq. Since most of Southern Iraq is flat, Saddam just drove to the south instead of flying to impose his rule on Shiites of the South. Now the North, the no fly zone worked, because of the mountains and the Kurds using them for protection.
