I grew up listening to EPMD...but why use them to shit on Lil Wayne? It's tired as hell to read all of this shit littered all over Youtube. "fukk lil wayne." Shit is corny.
i could act foolish and start blastin, ha ha ha ha now who's laughing, I'ma let you slide but you owe me, next time you see me, holla like you know me.
haha i remember that me and my friend were in new york in 2001 and a shooting start not far from us . the car who left very very fast has this song in it :) funny !!
EPMD...like Banks with the hooks Eric ALWAYS had the beats...ALWAYS! Parrish was the Rap James Bond Villain. The echo and the quadroverb were INSANNNE!!! REAL HIP HOP...Rap concentrate!
yes, real shit as the hiphop should sound like! todays commercial shit just pissing me of!! the early 90's and end of 80's was the best time for hiphop..
Mel you have a lot of subs and alot of people will read this but I dont give a fuck....Fuck this bullshit today what they try to pass as hiphop Im to old to fucking bounce fuck all these BS artists that go platnum for POLITICS Im sick of it 2 Melhex..Im out and Im going to fucking bed
I'm just lampin on my metrophone/chrome kit gleamin all off ya dome/and like a sucker yea you look the other way/that's when I know your on my dick kid.but it's o.k.
i couldnt believe this cassette when it came out...epmd was my fave but they just took shit beyond this universe. step in the arena also put a crack in the earth when it came out. das efx u-m c's seems like a lifetime ago now. these kids today should turn there backs on whats being forced in there ears and go record shopping..(or just download) fuck..where is the legwork these days???
Legwork...those of us of certain age (Older...not old) know and miss that word.
That and dedication are what's missing from todays music.
Back in the day (90's. I know...) you'd have to hit up the record shop for the new shit. You got to know the people at the shop, you talked about what was cool, and you went home broke and happy. With an actual product (Vinyl, tape, CD) !!!
Now, you can check out a lot more stuff online, but I miss merch tables and shops and actually owning music....
i remember going right to the train station and heading west into nyc to go record shopping, every friday..turntables up on milk crates. back then, it was a great feeling to be this little white dude..who clicked with hiphop/house...i still worship those beats..they set me free after a long day at the office. except now i mix on my laptop...(only when the kids are in bed) lmfbo!!!
The kids today will never know what it's like to pause a blank tape while recording, call the local(college)radio station to request a song (i e 'Valley of Tha Skinz' by the ironically named Trendz of Culture*) , listen for it, unpause the tape and have a tape to bump on the schoolbus the next day.
Itunes, Napster, THIS even is everything I could want and more, sometimes. And I STILL get bored with it!
weird, the intro of the song reminds me of an n.w.a. song from Niggaz4life and the artwork of Business as usual looks a lot like 100 miles and runnin'! But dope song as always from Erick an' Parish Makin' Dollahs
