  • Nice variations and tips. I've been stretching for years and have heard of contraction/relaxion methods before but I've never heard your method of contracting the "Opposing" muscle groups before. I heard contracting and releasing the target group youre aiming for. I'll give youre method a try..thanks! I'm a kungfu guy and not a pole dancer *LOL*

  • yes and no,

    hold each stretch for about two minuites. no more than three. but there are a huge varity of stretches that you can do. Just make sure that if you plan on stretching for a long time that you have the room nice and warm and you get up and jump around a bit every once in a while to keep the blood flowing (a.k.a keeping your muscles warm)

  • these are good stretches I've been taking Tae Kwondo classes for about 4 years and its still a shame that I can't get very flexible but if I keep practicing this and some other peoples videos along with this I'm sure I'll be able to get at least a LITTLe more flexible lol

  • You'd get a better stretch at 5:54 if you put the front leg so that the bent knee makes a 90 degree angle, and you square your hips (not just the shoulders are supposed to face forward, but the hips as well)

  • Yes thats true in general you want your hips square. But in this move for some people (myself included) if your hips are perfectly squared then the move can result in lower back pain. As long as your leg is directly behind you and the hips are facing forward you'll still get a very good stretch.

  • Well, the info about squeezing the opposing group was new to me. I don't stretch much at all in the winter cuz treadmill doesn't really require too much flexibility. But it's Spring now, my second day on the bike and already that darn left knee is hurting again. So I will try to put some of your tips to use (along with the Glucosamine/Chondroitin!) before hitting the bike path tomorrow. Thank you for the instructional video--it was like a professional DVD!

    Perfect for people who never stretch before. You are very flexible and talented. would have been nice to see some pole dancing in the end
