@SuperMarkerComicBro, it's sort of a sub plot or something like that to help fill up the time slot, and yes, i agree that it is one of the best Peanuts songs
This is Vince singing. I'd know his voice anywhere. You can hear it on his 1968 Warner Bros. release, "The Eclectic". The horn arrangement is likely by John Scott Trotter, not Vince.
It IS Jack Sheldon (jazz trumpeter) singing, not Vince Guaraldi. But I LOVE Vince's music. He wrote/performed all the amazing piano trio jazz in the early Charlie Brown shows (he died at a rather young age, so David Benoit took over playing Vince's music in subsequent decades).
Jack also sang "I AM A Bill" for School House Rock.
@kerndavid, actually it's Vince Guaraldi's according to an interview on Lee Mendelson on one of the Peanuts collection (either the 1960s or 1970s Vol. 1)
I just DON'T understand why they DIDN'T include the VOCAL version of this but instead the INSTrumental 'Whistle-along' version on the latest Guaraldi collection released, PEANUTS PORTRAITS. Funny thing because they DID include the Vocal version of "Little Birdie"...,so why not "Joe Cool"?
They messed up on that one. THIS version with VInce's voice is clearly the classic and standard version! (Sigh! Had to get that off my chest.)
this is one of my favorite vince guaraldi songs

@TheVinylBird thanks for trying to make that clear. I'm sick of hearing people say that the "I'm Just A Bill" guy sung this

@relder1100 no, it's Vince. One of the producers of the Peanuts specials specifically said it was Vince singing.
