@PhobiaGuy This sample is the Shakuhachi sample from the E-Mu Emulator II library. It can also be heard at the beginning of Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer", where it is isolated enough to get a good sample.
just saw this thing for sale on our local forum site. not sure if I should buy this one or save up for a roland juno-di. I'm from the Philippines, BTW, and this was for sale for Php15k. A brand new Juno-di would cost around Php40k if not on sale. Which would you suggest, S4K?
Thanks for posting this, about the Korg M1-EX - a cool synth when programmed optimally. The factory sounds are nowhere nearly as good as the M1 is capable of producing. The best synth patches for this classic synth (& Legacy VST) can be found at manymidi.com
I am about to exchange my Yamaha Psr 1000 for a Korg M1.Is this a good exchange? I want to create sounds that no one did before with it.What is the limit in sound creating of this M1?
@LMTVVideos not true, many people store a backup from the m1 onto their computers using usb to midi cables, its how you save them when the battery dies and you lose everything....
@pianogrl697 Most of the M1 samples are there in the M3. The last way to get all the M1 sounds was the Legacy Collection - Digital Edition a software synthesizer with all the sound of the M1, T1 (including every optional Korg card) and the Wavestation (with every card as well).
@LMTVVideos Thank you! Yes I found that online and will look into it soon! Now I really wanna trade my Yamaha XF for a Korg M3, lol.....I dunno why I didn't go with my heart's instinct in the first place, lol.
@nokia3210fuck The M1 adds the samples of the T-Series (twice the sample memory) and was available as an expansion board for both the M1 keyboard and M1R module. It included a Program/Combination card with the 100 extra programs and combinations of the T3.
@Krzefil They're different. The M1 was a sample-playback workstation with a sequencer. The Wavestation was a performance synthesizer with wave sequencing and vector synthesis.
I have a question!!! Just today i got a Korg M1 and im so happy ! The battery was low so all the sounds were gone from inside.. i changed the battery and downloaded a program MIDI-OX i also downloaded the M1Factory.syx file and it is connected with my PC with a usb cable, but i got only 50 sounds on the PROG as i open the korg... can you help me how to find the others or maybe send me some to load them? Thanks
@stakid007 Go to the global settings. There you will be able to choose how to set your M1's memory allocation. Either 100 Progs/100 Combis/4400 Note Sequencer or 50 Progs/50 Combis/7700 Note Sequencer. Yours is probably set up in the latter.
@CeSektion See those bulges on top of the gloves? They're called "Mr. Instant Piano Man 2000" - just hit the ON button and you'll be able to play good piano.
hmm i feel so rubbish when i watch people playing this good. i'm just starting to learn and i cant believe i could ever move around a keyboard so fast. i'd love an M1, just deciding between that and yamaha psr9000
Well do not worry too much about technique and fast blazing playing, just be yourself as much as you can and put your whole soul and emotion into your playing and writing. The player in this video does a lot Dream Theater and that band had two amazing keyboard players; one insanely tecnical player the other less so but far more character and soul; I know who I would rather listen to.....yes, Kevin Moore!
anyone know what keyboard this flute sound came from?
youtube...enigma sadness part 1
id love a clean sample of it!

I really like the music fragment 4:51-5:01. Do you have a longer version of it? Great harmony.

All the korg VST emulations, including the M1 can be had for 50$ each!!!!
The Wavestation sounds amazing. Mono/Poly too

Nice demo! Do you know if newer Korg synths have the "Universe" sound, such as M50. X50, Microstation...etc? thanks a bunch.

yamahapsr2100keys 1 year ago
@yamahapsr2100keys The M1 has 100 programs and 100 combinations (up to 8-way splits/layers of the programs). The biggest limitations of the M1 are:
- 16-note polyphony
- The limited screen size (just 2 alpha-numeric lines)
- The sequencer memory (7700 notes if configured for 50 prog/50 combinations and only 3500 notes if configured for 100 programs/100 combinations)
- Lack of current storage. There are no floppy drives or USB ports here. The PCM-03 RAM card is the only storage medium
