back in January, on the 17th, I lost a dear friend. He was like my second father. He wasn't related but, he was still a part of me. (kinda sounded like Kovu there) my fifteenth birthday was on the 25th and he died of cancer. I watched this video shortly after he died and it seemed to help me, whether it just helped me get through it or helped me to cry it all out... I came back today to watch it again and those feelings came back. RIP R.C. You will forever be in my heart. :')

Dude I don't know how this didn't win a contest, but oh well. I commented on this over a year ago and still come back to this video from time to time to watch it when I am down. Yesterday was my 20th birthday and it was the fourth birthday I've had since my mother died. This video means so much, the Titanic theme, the Lion King, all classic timeless examples of the 90s which was a decade full of memories of my mother and childhood that can never be replaced. and I also remember disneyland's animation studio playing something like this...using disney songs though (you got a friend in me, beauty and the beast theme song, etc). For some reason the part that always strikes me is when Mufusa talks to Simba and he says "A kings time as ruler rises and falls like the sun- one day Simba the sun will set on my time here, and will rise with you as the new king" - it's like his voice has all this wisdom and it's like a movie that this generation grew up with and Idk why it strikes; maybe because where all older and it's like our time..

i actually watched The Lion King today for the first time in I didn't know how long. YEARS probably... I CRIED throughout the entire movie, and to see that a simple Disney film can be more touching than any chick flick tearjearker shoved out into theaters today is remarkable. Props to Disney.
