Well, my school services their pcs on their own. The Gateway I recently got is in really good condition! It has a 19 gig HD! I was kind of shocked that it would run on a 19 gig hard drive because the board in the Sony Vaio PCG-505FX maxes out at 4 gigs. What's happening in December that this computer isn't going to be your main pc anymore?

@Unicornguy a nokia. But i dont have it anymore, i traded my sister for my long lost RAZR2.

about 7 months ago, my mom made me give my RAZR2 to my sister because her phone broke. but i traded the Nokia for it, and got it back.

@Dell0304 Oh ok. That's good. I usually take everyone's upgrades in my family because they don't really buy phones like I do and I give them the phone that I"m done with. It works out pretty well!

@Jallge one thing i will NEVER reccomend again. Dell optiplex GX260. FUCKING PEICE OF SHIT. i tried to install an os on it and the fucking CD drive wasnt recognized. i tried 3 different CD drives, and 3 different install disks. i hate that fucking computer. but yeah this laptop is great.

@Dell0304 my school used to have similar computers (optiplex 170L) and they used standard drive bays for the optical drive and the floppy drive.

i wouldn't recommend my Acer Veriton M261 (my desktop) piece of crap's networking never works properly

@Jallge i got the gx260 working. you have to select "cable select" on the back of the CD drive.

I read your description. To me it looks like your Hard drive is ready to die. Try getting SpeedFan and check the S.M.A.R.T status or go the BIOS (if it haves it)
