  • shredder is a clone of marshall shredmaster...i have one unit of this marshall shredmaster...for sale...anyone interested,pm me yeahhh...

  • i need the shredder one but im in australia and it seems HARD AS TITS to get it here.anyone know how i cn get the shredder kit in australia?

  • @HUNTER180able hey i live in NZ i email'd BYOC recently and they gave me a link to their canadian distributor. they do world wide shipping. haven't ordered one yet so the details of shipping costs but hell yeah im getting me a lrg beaver

  • I really enjoy your reviews and playing. I have modded two boss pedals and have built my first pedal....a dual pedal from muzique.com. Question, which pedal do you prefer: the BBO or a Boss BD II? I want to either build the BBO or mod a BDII. Thanks!

  • nice demo, but why use a tele with a metal pedal?..he should've got a les paul for that portion of the clip...

  • tasty

  • i like a large beaver

  • how would the shredder pedal sound for metal?

  • sounds great.. Love the heck outta yor vids dude.. You rock!!!! Tou sold me On the BYOC pedals.. I am hooked... You get such great sounds outta there pedals for the money.. Ill never buy a big name brand again.!!!

  • @plumcrazy157 totally. I think the shear greed of the pedal companies is disgusting, the price of those things! BYOC for me......

  • The whole thing with tossin' the pick after each demo had me crackin' up!! So rock and roll Gearman!! Rock on bro!!

  • One thing I'll mention for people who don't know the difference. The triangle version and ram's head version are very similar, except that the triangle has more sustain and the ram's head has a tighter lower end. Given my low tuning and love of power chords I should probably have gone with the ram's head, but dang it just sounded too amazing to change. I'm considering building a ram's head too. :P This is perfect for anything from beautiful to sit on my face tone.

  • The beaver is AMAZING. I built the triangle version about a month ago and I am in love. I play a PRS Singlecut (usa) through a marshall. I play in drop C so I needed something that can handle the low end, but also be very pretty because I play in church. This thing lights up my amp. It sounds gorgeous. I use the gain(sustain) on about 3.5 and it's perfect. I use it on it's own or even as a sustain boost after my compression and overdrive (Boss CS-3 and OS-2) Amazing, highly recommend it

  • Electro-Harmonix named the Big Muff after their first dirt box-thing called a muff fuzz. They named it that because Mike Matthews, the owner of Electroharmonix, thought it sounded muffled when engaged. They went on to name their next dirtbox the big muff, as a bigger version of their first pedal. I don't know where the Pi came from though lol

  • @Ilovemyfender2 think about it, 'muff pie', except they made it 'pi' for subtlety

  • @aektzis91 hahahha oh god how did i never realise that

  • Perfect demo video because there's NO TALKING. Just PLAYING.

  • @karlhouseknecht gmd is the only guy I wouldn't complain about talking heh, but yeah, most videos are 90% talking and 10% demoing

  • Greta demo - thanks - helped clarify which one I want.

  • My original Big Muff sounds NOTHING like that Large Beaver...I hate my big muff but i actually like that sound...weird

  • There's a lot to be said about quality components and non-mass produced items.

  • Damn straight, I hate these pedals, but only because i want them all!!

  • there are alot of variations on the muff. this is a rams head version. check out stomp under foot

  • i hate it when people play a riff in bypass

switch it on and play something different

you dont get a good comparison

  • @ChrisONGuitar1 He's also using channels on his amp

    O.o

  • Let's here some rhythm tones. Do some power chord riffing on that fuzz.

  • if you order any pedal they give you the confidence boost and a signal tester with it

  • false that promo is over buddy boy

  • @mlweidl If you ask nicely they may give it to you, and to clarify it was only your first pedal/kit. They did it for me! Both of em ;)

  • A few years ago I built my BYOC (script)phaser and it is ssssweeeeetttt.....

  • a little paint goes a long way

  • all very goood but BBlues to me

  • The BYOC Bluesbreaker is one of the finest overdrives I've ever heard!!!

    It's just AMAZING!!!

  • These pedals are incredible. I'm addicted and I haven't even ordered it yet... Only problem is, which one first? Been surfing YT for a few days now watching demos, pretty sure I'll end up going with the large beaver. I've got a PRS Singlecut, going through a Marshall AVT150h (hey, it's not THAT bad...). I currently use a Boss CS-3 and Boss OS-2, but these are too incredible to pass up.

If I do end up getting it, I'll film a demo. Not enough humbucker demos around.

  • Beaver wins

  • When he turned the top knob on the Large Beaver all the way to the left and dug in, I went Wow! That's what a muff's about for me, all that big bass and sustain. Sit down and buckle up! The right knob didn't seem to do much, but that top mode knob is great. Almost like 4 pedals in one.

  • Beaver wins

  • I'm on a budget and looking for quality overdrive-British blues od or BYOC OD2?

  • both are great OD's but the OD2 has far more tonal options, the BBOD is sweet and transparent and really works with your amp - take the amp to the edge of break up and crank the BBOD it really rocks like a Marshall Bluesbreaker

  • So there are pro's and con's to consider. well, since I can't take advantage of the options offered by the OD2 while playing, especially on stage, I (like most people) would just find one or two settings I like and stick with em. If the biggest pro for the OD2 is the number of options, it sounds like the BBOD would be the way to go... Would you agree with that?

  • Sounds good, just keep in mind that the BBOD is a more transparent OD than say a TS808 , so some may think it isn't thick enough for single coils but BYOC includes extra capacitors so you can beef up the tone for single coils if you like. It depends a lot on what you are running and if you are handy with a soldering gun, Hope that helps.

  • It definatley does, thank you so much!

  • My pleasure

  • gearmanndude, have you tried the Triangle-spec Beaver? If so what do you think/how does it compare to the Ram's Head version?

I have bought a Large Beaver Kit, and am trying to decide which version to build.

  • HIGH VOLTAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Am I the only that finds it really funny that it's called the Large Beaver?

  • It's because it's a clone of the Big Muff (a British slang term for the same thing as a beaver)

  • I know, but large beaver just sounds a lot funnier than big muff.

  • Just finished a British Blues O.D. for my first build. It sounds much better than my old BOSS and DOD overdrives. I did the mods to cut the highs with my single coil Rickenbacker, and I will post pics on B.Y.O.C.

  • Hey GMD, Is it possible to fit these kits into a smaller MXR size box?

  • Dude, these kits already are the size of an MXR. What are you talking about?

  • No, the PCBs are too big to fit into the smaller box. You're basically stuck with the Boss-sized Hammond enclosure if you're going to use a BYOC kit.

  • maybe it's just the camera angle, but the switch looks too close to the knobs on that enclosure, making it too easy to accidentally step on a knob...

  • Its because there are 4 knobs... it is not the best arrangement.

  • Great idea Jack! \m/

  • Leia on the large beaver?

  • It's a ram, my bad!

  • Big Muff Rams Head ... second Big Muff design

  • Beaver sounds great...
