  • RIP DILLA! I LOOOOOVVEEEE YOU ERYKAH!!! SINCE DAY 1!

  • erykahs whole album is like a story of whats next to come for us in these next few years or so. in short words she is basically telling us what the next stage is for us as consious people, we cant help our brothas n sistas who are sleep, they have to wake up on their own, trust me i've tried. THIS IS ALL ABOUT YOU. THE NEXT STAGE IS ASCENSION, TRANSFORMATION, AND DECENSION AKA RETURN. does anybody remember tht cartoon movie atlantis when the black girl ascends to the light, THATS US COCOON STYLE

  • One of the most intimate and moving tracks I have heard. ever. This is heavy stuff.

  • Sista Erykah is so dope, this song is incredibly moving to me.

  • i lost my father about 3 months before she dropped this cd...when i heard this song i couldn't believe how much it makes me think about him...i weap everytime i listen to it...in a sad but happy way...i know he's in heaven and i hope he's savin' a place and puttin' in a word for me. such a beautiful song! i miss you a ton dad!

  • this song got me tearing up.. I can feel her pain in this song.. Erykah is such a work of art..its good that a musician can make me move.. but to move my soul? thats a different story.. and thats exactly what she does with her music. THANK YOU MS. BADU THANK YOU

  • this song got me tearing up.. I can feel her pain in this song.. Erykah is such a work of art..its good that a musician can make me move.. but to move my soul? thats a different story.. and thats exactly what she does with her music. THANK YO MS. BADU THANK YOU

  • @2:58 i get goose bumps

  • this cd was awesome, I love this song.

  • Just in case you don't know.....the lyrics are about visions that Dilla was having as he was going in out of consciousness during his last days. He claimed Ol' Dirty was telling him things about the "other side".....like take the white bus and not the red bus though it'll look enticing.

  • @JColeM7785 you know that could be a trap, theres like this spiritual cell that alot of people supposably get caught up in because it looks nice. for example you might see the light and in tht light you see all of your family memebers, so your first mind is telling you to join them, yet what you should be doing is taking the other route to the darkness aka the heavens or the universe so that you can find your own star aka your paradise for transformation. every negro man is a star.

  • @JColeM7785 Damn...that made me shutter, but in a positive way. Woah...

  • @JColeM7785 you serious?

  • @JColeM7785 Wow thanks for the info! It just opened up this song tremendously

  • I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THIS SONG..........

  • Notable cancion,"American promise " tambien es buena, lastima que el resto del album sea mediocre.

  • @03dloco what u mean jill scott? she right behind badu... @azodyze what u said is to true!!!

  • What this Is a universal language this is the language of God not to many artist speak this language. peace to all of you Black ta white.

  • wonderful....so wonderful.

    R.I.P. J Dilla.

  • She is just amazing, I don't think the english langauge has the correct words to describe her, it's completely spiritual:)

  • the trick is to click to mp3ifier.com to get this mp3.

  • i played this as a tribute to my brother that passed away at his funeral.....I love you Don... fly a way to heaven Brother ...put in a word for me......

  • @sincerearo keep dat fist up

  • rip.. too 2 from the co ... tk for the good smoke... its like i watched u die from cancer but .. save a place for me ... hope the phone dont ring again.. tks erykah for this song ...

  • sometimes the mind need to play, before it can reflect again :) reply to why pop is so popular right now , as oppose to music such as Erykahs.

  • I hear those Horns, that must be Dilla. R.I.P.

  • So heavy emotionally. mystical as well almost haunting especially at the end. and yes the bass line is BAD! PEACE

  • this song has a bad ass bass line, I bump this in my car almost everyday

  • i love this song

  • omg she is so beautiful.funny cuz im only 17,most youngsters dont feel women like her. but iv loved her since iv heard her for the first time. and i try 2 keep all the girls i go with around her style.to bad there are'nt many ppl at all like her...man.

  • @demarco770 man im witcha on that one, i completely agree. im only 17 too and i feel the exact same way

  • @demarco770 you should listen to her first album it is so on point. badu has always been on a whole diffrent level than most musicians

  • RIP DILLA

  • this is amazing

  • Bow down. Ms Erykah truly gives you knowledge and food for the mind and soul. For those that don't get where she is coming from....you, sadly, haven't reached that level of enlightenment. Open your mind. Stop living in the little picture of this picture in picture we call life. Many won't even get that statement. it's ok though. for every one that doesn't....five will. Peace and love.

  • why does any singer need to be discredited to uplift another? I happen to like rihanna, beyonce and eryka for who they are. I don't turn on eryka to dance and I don't turn on beyonce for much introspective music. I just find a way to love them for who they are.

  • @kogikogikogi most truth

  • @kogikogikogi you don't dance to badu? how could you not dance to badu? are you mad, you? i do dance to badu.

  • @kogikogikogi WORD!

  • @kogikogikogi its actually not so much about discrediting the singers its more about discrediting the current state of the music industry and record execs who give us a gazillion beyonces rihannas lady gagas who are filled with gimmicks and when you hear the Erykahs and the Jill Scotts of the world who rely on nothing more than phenomenal talent it kind of pisses you off that they arent the ones selling millions of millions and millions of records and the Beyonces and Rihannas

  • @kogikogikogi are just the unlucky ones being pimped and caught of in the crossfire.

  • @kogikogikogi WELL SAID, WELL SAID. (-:

  • Makes me see death and the afterlife in a whole new light. -R.I.P. Dilla

  • Dont forget people are not as intelligent as they use to be. Not to mention the multiple labels/titles people HAVE to put on others. This music, even though its the hottest out there, is not cool enough to be hot in the streets.

  • This takes you places. Stunning

  • this song gives me the chills rip to one of the best who ever did it dilla.and erica is on her a game.this is a moscato drink and L moment the song will take you you somewhere else away from here

  • All the so called rnb stars (ri/yonce type) are nothing compared to her!

  • erykah is the truth. she, jill scott, chrisette michele, sade, amel, vivian, etc are my favorites. I dont give a rats ass about beyonce, rihanna, and all those other sell outs.

Im sure Dilla would have been proud R.I.P.

  • I love this song!

  • I love this song!

  • I love this song!

  • Erica is so sexy to me. I love her music. She definitely a Jewel.

  • Erica is so sexy to me. I love her music. She definitely a Jewel.

  • I can't quite describe this track. Haunting, yet beautiful. Simple, yet deep and complex. It is official. I am going to go out and buy the cd today.

  • Hotep!!!...All Praises Due the Creator for Making Ms. Badu A Talented Goddess.......

  • This is one of my fav tracks off the album. It takes me back to mamas gun.

    I love her

  • Great song!! Sooo lovely~~!!

  • Dilla RIP

  • it is. it's a tribute to him... the track is really reminiscent of the kinda music dilla used to make...

  • big up's to the ODB

  • i heard this is about J Dilla

  • @Treeeezy4

You can tell right off the bat with the J Dilla sirens going off.

  • yea!this track Go hard as fuck.....replayed it 3x already!

  • Ms. Badu creates music that has good vibrations or good frequencies ..thats why everyone feels the power of this song..only REAL MUSIC can do this!! Can i get an AMEN?

  • AMUN!!!!

  • AMEN.

  • @mdtater eggmen!

  • damn this just hits me in my heart!!!

  • This here is SERIOUS Badu right here!

  • I ALWAYS get teary eye when ever i hear this track!! ALWAYS!

I feel her pain and I wish I can relate to her experience that she's expressing

  • dig the pictures

  • When I first heard this song, I nearly cried. Rest In Peace Jay Dee aka J Dilla aka James Yancey. Sometimes I can't listen to this song even though its so beautiful.

  • I Adore them both , they both take me to different spaces in soul music, They are on opposite ends of the soul spectrum. Amy is a baby. Erykah is a woman. Hopefully Amy will bounce back. Because the BACK TO BLACK cd. Made a huge contribution to the music world , regardless of her messy personal life. There is no one like E. BADU, but there is also no one like AMY either. Just my 2cents!

  • @lovley7000 Very, very true. Eloquent and true.

  • @lovley7000 Very, very true. Eloquent and true.

  • @KIL2GORE- beautifully said.

  • I kinda dig Amy Winehouse enough to buy her stuff. However, Erykah can (effortlessly) sing EVERY Amy Winehouse song better than she can, but Amy can't sing half of Erykah's shit (even after singing the song everyday for a month).

  • J Dilla is the greatest of all time imo... Erykah did such an amazing job with this song right here, she is one of the best no doubt. Dilla, man... sooooo missed

    RIP

  • that siren sends chills up my spine...r.i.p. dilla dawg

  • that siren send chills up my spin...r.i.p. dilla dawg

  • RIP J DILLA

  • inspired by a story Dilla's mother told Badu. Evidently during his final days, Dilla would float in and out of coherence, having very real conversations with people no one else could see. One of these people, as Dilla told his mother, was ODB. Dirty was telling Dilla that when he gets to the other side not to get on the red bus, though it was inviting. The white bus would be the one to pick him up.

  • RIP Dilla...

  • Amy Winehouse shouldn't be compared to Miss Badu. Different cultures for sure. Amy is so much younger but her pipes channel the groups like the Supremes. I can't help but love her voice and forgive her clumsiness with her sudden fame and lack of ability to respond to the fickle media frenzy. Who is she supposed to be? How many black/white singers with talent ahead of their place in life were able to handle the pressure and expectations of fans and critics. No question, Erykah's from the heart!!

  • this was a song dedicated to j dilla - R.i.P J dilla...strongly missed

  • Mz. badu you give me the exact idea on what i should be looking for in my Queen to be. Your not just suductive by your mind but in the science of sexuality to. With all due respect!

  • i lOOOve this song i do

  • Aww, you cut-off the faint dialogue at the end when questlove says somethin after they recorded...gotta get the album to know! Don't spread it people! Just get the album!

  • i send one out to bro. moses jiggett. R.I.P. my man

  • I like the other version of telephone as well

  • how can you even compare her version of telephone with gaga???

  • @KMELIZ21 hahahaha

  • @KMELIZ21 hehe SO true!!

  • @KMELIZ21 wow whoever compared this to gaga's telephone just needs to go and slap themselves. RIP J DILLA

  • @KMELIZ21 speak on it!

  • @KMELIZ21 exactly. i dont even see why people would bring up caca's name in the first place. smh.

  • Transition... with a real slow fade. Erykah is lyrical as Andre 3000 to me.

  • the are extactness of each other.

  • LOVE THIS TRAK and prefer THIS 'telephone' rather than wak ass gaga's version. Erykah go after that beezy for stealing your trak name!! :\

  • J Dilla!! REST IN BEATS! Dilla did good having Badu use this tune. BEAUTIFUL.

  • RIP J Detroit to the I to the L LA

  • Click my Username - My IQ is 112

  • Badu is a legend, Jill Scott is great; but one must admit that Amy Winehouse could compete (Back to Black + Love is a Losing Game are classics).

  • re:amy winehouse-hahahaha....ur funny!

  • i agree bcuz dat woman has a really nice voice too...a powerful one at that

  • yeah love is a losing game is an okay track but i just dont respect winehouses music. she cant even respect herself.

besides shes a better (ripped off) version of macy gray- no disrespect to macy.

  • @krustyinc

Yeah love is a losing game is an okay track but i cant respect anything winehouse do. She cant even respect herself.

Besides her voice a better "ripped off" version of macy gary- no disrespect to macy.

  • @tonyre123

Yeah, I agree with you that she learns to respect herself more, but how can her voice be a "ripoff"? It's her natural voice, maybe you can say she is influenced by Macy but she is Influenced by miss Badu too and lots of others...

Btw: Love this song! Genius as always!

  • Amy Winehouse? Are you taking the piss? Erykah Badu is far more talented and soulful.

  • rip dilla

  • what is the original sample of those blissfull seys??? thia is incredible possibly th best track on the album.

  • makes me tear up every time =(

  • telephone! it's ol' dirty. he want to give you directions home.

    love this

  • I hope Dilla and my sisters come to pick me up when my time to go tho heaven comes.

    R.I.P My Sisters

    R.I.P Jay Dee

  • luv this tune so much. A fitting tribute to dilla

  • the best dilla tribute ever. much respect queen to queen.

  • im so confused why the hell are all these wack ass females singers so famous ms. badu is better than all of them throw in jillscott and i dont see where any other female can compete

    i love this song

  • @azodyze because those other females sell their souls for fame and the soul artists dont
