this is a great song and im always stopping by to listen to it. the voices give the impression of echos off the a valley a rolling river accross the wide missouri bravo guys. ur professor has a good ear for this arrangements u should record it professionaly love it
It's nice to hear the MSU men sing at last! I grew up in Ann Arbor (go Blue—sorry), so it's great to see what the other universities are up to. You all sound good. Try to make your vowels taller, purer, and less like ordinary speech. Keep up the good work, and keep singing! :-)
Umm...are we listening to the same video? I don't think you did "pretty good."
Pretty good? Are you kidding? How about OUTSTANDING? Seriously, very well done! And if you factor in not having sung together it's really pretty amazing. You have every reason to be proud of that performance.
If they had not previously rehearsed together than this is not too bad for a high school choir but if you think this is in any way an outstanding performance, you're probably green to choral music.
Check out some of BYU and Cambridge's performances. The young and gifted composer Eric Whitacre's choir is pretty good as well.
For anyone critiquing this video, I know you have good intentions, but you need to know this is like 3 or 4 choirs that hadn't sang together before. One of them is a men's collegiate choir and the rest are smaller high school choirs. I am part of the MSU Men's Glee Club that was a part of this, and I hadn't been told that we'd be uniting for this song until right before we did it. So I'd say this is pretty good when you take all that into account.
I never dis any songs on here, but this has much more potential. Maybe they were just doing the best with the time & people they had. But their vowels & vocal unity needs a lot of work. They need to let the vowels round out & resonate in their mouths, work on placement of sound. They were over singing much of it. However, maybe it's people who haven't done this before, & it's difficult, so good for them. & maybe they needed more time- or a better director?
this makes my heart melt.

to the two people who "disliked" this video. I'm having trouble seeing the flaws in this. It's beautiful.
