  • it is a real release but they shouldn't have given him a D for Yamawaki, instead a B for reverse Voronin, still, nice dismount.

  • (Disclaimer: I'm a nationally-rated men's judge.)

You're right it's not stretched enough to be a Yamawaki. But there's no such trick as a "reverse Voronin," and if you mean Voronin, it's not. In a Voronin (B), your body remains inverted and the legs pass over the head. In a vault catch (B), the legs pass between the head and body.

This would get B-value rear vault / vault catch credit.

  • Thanks, but when i said "reverse Voronin" i meant a vault catch (in Belgium we don't have a word to say vault catch, so we say reverse Voronin, because you twist in the opposite direction.) I was also a judge in the last FIG-code but now my license expired.

  • Ah. Well, good to know some variety in the gymnastics language.

To be honest, I think I like reverse Voronin better than vault catch.

  • no real release except a vault catch lol

  • that was not a yamawaki tho. too pike
