Too much power through those Novak SS systems will do that. I smoked one (no fire, but it did die) with a good 6 cell Nimh pack. That or the pack shorted somewhere. Possibly a short in the ESC from frying like those SS's do.
LiPo is a very powerful and very unstable battery. if you wreck it can cause the battery to short out and explode and catch fire. if you put to much of a draw on one they will over heat and explode and catch fire, if you charge it to fast they will overheat and explode and catch fire, it can even explode and catch fire for no reason.
I was able to salvage the front and rear suspension systems and both diffs. Wheels are fine. I basically lost the Chasis and all electronics and the body.
