  • Pedo smile @ 5:00 lol :-)

  • epic pepper biting there, followed by a wonderful pedo smile

  • I remembered watching this every week when I was younger. I'm so disappointed at Iron Chef America, it doesn't do as much justice compared to this one, even though I would rather see this with subtitles.

  • god, i always die laughing when he picks up the bell pepper and just bites into it so seriously!

  • What the fuck are those things @4:00 ??

  • @knoshy there like shrimp but i think you can only find them in Japan

  • when i watch this now again, the tv show's way of portraying the magical value and art of cuisine and the epicness of the battle of highly skilled people kind of relates my mind to how animes can be dramatic as well (japanese style of entertainment) (it's also kind of funny). i may not make any sense right now tho.... can't explain. anyway i love it XD

  • go to 5:30 to skip the intro

  • im full of beans

  • 1:47 to skip ahead

  • @chefkoo

the beginning is the best part!

  • I loved Iron Chef Sakai, but now, I love Iron Chef Morimoto

  • You know I don't like Americas version of Iron Chef...The term "Iron Chef" means the main chef calling all the shots...in Iron Chef America you got all this type of chefs in one group making their own dishes...if that's the case then they should have named it Iron Chef's America not Iron Chef America...don't you agree?

  • 1:49 to skip the credits

  • i saw American Iron Chef. Such a boring, tasteless and tacky show.

  • sakai!!!

  • 4:59 HAHAHA

  • Oh... ORIGINAL IRON CHEF!!! I use to watch this all the time when i was young

  • LMAO! so cheesy

  • In terms of entertainment, the Japanese appreciate a more dramatic approach. It's simply part of their culture--Japanese theater is a good example of this. By saying what you did, you're essentially being racist.

  • And by saying what you did, you're essentially being a fun-hating dickcheese.

  • @LordOmberus Don't joke about that. I'm sure dickcheese was an ingredient once.

  • then watch a different version

  • Subs are the words at teh bottom,

Dubs would be the voice over

  • i bet the mangaka of yakitate japan got his idea from here, or maybe they got it from him..ill haf to research.

  • i remember watching this, but without the dub XD

  • No, it was a weekly television series in Japan, and was brought to the United States by the Food Network, who did the english dubbing. It ran for about 6 years ( 93 to 99?), a bit over 300 episodes. Good stuff.

The Food Network's Iron Chef America is based on the original Japanese version, but most Iron Chef fans find the American version, uh, well, less than satisfactory.

  • @teamfat666 in the American one, the Chairman is supposed to be the Nephew of Chairman Kaga

  • @teamfat666 WHICH may or may not have to do with the fact that Bobby Flay is a iron chef there

  • what tv channel was this on?

  • I like Hiroyuki Sakai! =D!!

  • Ummmmm...you like Sakai or you like like Sakai...:)

  • BOTH BWAHAHAHA.

  • I've never seen masahiko kobe battle anyone before.... he just comes randomly sometimes haha... I also like Kenichii

  • Hey Shut yer Piehole, before I shove delicious canoli down yer arrogant trap! Besides everytime you buy DiGorni pizza youre eatin gourmet, BABY!

  • RAWK ON, BABY!!! >XD

  • That's odd...I remember when I first started watching the show on Food Network I used to think they were showing Kobe practically every other week. I kept thinking when they were challenging the IC: "Pick Morimoto, please pick Morimoto..." 'Cause they almost never showed a Morimoto battle then.

  • chen kenichi is my favorite. he is not only humble but he is entertaining. i like sakai also. im a redneck from close to atmore alabama and i know how great this show is. and the culture that produced it.

  • yeah white boy! i love how your not like those ignorant people

  • Im always confused between the classification between rednecks and hillbillies. I like hillbillies more because I like the CLampetts from the Beverely Hillbillies.

  • @ismite123 :D I'm from Montgomery!! sorry random blah. Anyway, I also agree with you. I couldn't have said it better :3

  • Kaga's really getting into word emphasis in this one.

  • Some Pokemon episodes called mochi donuts! Disgraceful! I love Iron Chef Japan...but don't get me started on the sorry excuse remake on Food Network.

  • agreed. i really dont know the word to describe Iron Chef America.

  • the bad sequel to a great movie

  • haha when he says "gourmet celebrities" it sounds like the celebrities themselves are a form of gourmet food. cannibalism! lolz

  • I think mochi is a great choice. It is so versatile, and I've had it with broth as a sort of noodle-alternative. I actually prefer it that way, and i think that's how it's supposed to be. Adise from dango and such, mochi was never traditionally a desert.

  • I agree, I've only tried it with ice cream inside but i think mochi is a wonderful ingredient.

I really appreciate the fact someone has posted stuff like this. Archo, I have a request if you have any of the Desert battles, could you upload some of those too?

  • Mochi is awesome stuff, especially when it's got the cherry-blossom petals worked into it. (Sakura-Mochi.)

Thanks for uploading Archo. Though... honestly, I wonder what it would have been like, had the challenger chose Michiba-san.

  • First class as usual Archo~ thx as always :)

  • A fine battle, but the audio on this one seems to be weaker than the others... I had to turn up the wave and master volumes on my computer all the way just to hear it.

  • awesome battle and you are great for uploading these archo89 :)

  • Thank you thank you!

  • Every single episode of the original Japanese Iron Chef series is awesome!

  • yes , yes it is, 110%

  • 200%

  • Nice 1995 classic Kanpai!

  • awsome episode
