@alanchan1024 - Pleae help me.. During the second half of the piece, when the triplets are played on the left hand.. Does the right hand have to strictly play straight eighth notes?? So it basically is 4 over 3 right?? In your video I am not sure if it is strictly being followed.. I think you are playing more naturally with feel and there is no strict timing co-ordination between right and left hand.. right??
@lavamaster530 perhaps you should learn the piece before saying it's Grade 5 standard, it is possibly one of the hardest pieces I've ever learnt, although anyone who knows anything about music should be able to tell how hard it is just by looking at the sheet music tbh.. :L
@lavamaster530 This piece is incredibly difficult...have you actually seen or played the piece ? I've always been told by teachers that it should be in grade 8. Those triplets are killers. And the last chords. Ouch :L Beautifully played by the way :)
@lavamaster530 Grade 5??!! This piece is a swine! No way is it less than grade 6 at least :P But it is grade 7. I suggest learning it, its fantastic :) But really quite tricky.
@lavamaster530 Well, the piece requires a lot of expression (the opposite of what is being done here). Plus, triplets and half beats are always a nuisance.
You played it nicely. I would like to choose this piece, too. I want to know what beat are you using? Does big hands really an advantage for playing this piece? Do you have any suggestions for people with small hands?
I'm having trouble finding this piece of music since it isn't in the Grade 7 ABRSM book - is there a safe website where I can purchase the solo? I need it as soon as possible ='P
The Petrucci Music Library at IMSLP.org. Free, good quality, a truly wonderful resource. Not sure if this is there, but I'm sure you can find it if it is!
This song is hard...well done, you played it really well!

Ah - Liszt - so beautiful and so difficult to play, but so worth it!

Aren't you playing it a little bit slow? And the grade of this song seems more like a 5 to me rather than a 7.

beautiful song!
Is this song hard to play? seems like the rhythm is difficult to catch
wingleeavril 1 year ago 2
@wingleeavril this is quite harder than it sounds. I used some rubato so the rhythm is not strict
