I was so scared of them when I was little I couldn't go near Sesame Street for two decades! I am SO glad that they took them off the show. Even now I sometimes have nightmares that I am wacthing the show today and then they come on. When I wake up I always tell myself "Don't worry, they are off the show now." Some petition to put them back on the show, but PLEASE don't! Some kids may love them, but they are too scary for many. It's like being on acid to see them!

@astridkitty1212 Oh, come on. This is why the show has been neutered and tossed to Elmo... people complaining that every damn thing is traumatizing or teaches kids bad eating habits or whatever. There are children out there that live with real fear and abuse and suffering... if a couple of silly aliens singing with Bob are among the most traumatizing aspects of your first two decades (?!), I'm sure a lot of kids would be happy to trade lives with you.

In other words, anything they do that's any edgier than Barney, some parent group throws a hissy, so they neuter the show to cater to everyone and avoid trouble. I am happy this song never got a shrill technicolor remake for the Elmo generation though... they butchered Somebody Come and Play, Sing After Me, Different People Different Ways...
