My six year old's class had a pair (both males) named Billy and Clyde. When the year was over, the teacher gave them to my son because he loved playing with them so much. They are HUGE. You can hear them eating! Bugs are my phobia, but I try not to show fear around my son. After a few months, I got the courage to hold one. Whew!

Last week I was in Florida, and I had a Palmetto bug (a cockroach if you ask me) in my room. I didn't freak out. I picked him up and ate him. lol just kidding. I took him ouside and released him, no problem.

Aww, they are cute. I went to an insect zoo recently and held one. They are lovely creatures. If you are saying "eww" or "yuck" because you think they carry germs, there's no reason to worry. Unlike North American and European Cockroachres, they don't live in people's kitchens or eat human food usually, appart from fresh fruits and vegetables. They are fairly easy to look after and make great pets.

yeah i hate the american ones, the australian ones look just like the american. these though i like, i would like to have them as pets but i get sad when they die. these roaches only live like 5 years. that is very longed lived compare to most insects but still very short in terms of having a pet.
