  • I love how it showed that Barnes missed 0 single pins all week, but when it mattered most, he missed his first one

  • you gotta give it to haugen that he clutched it when he needed it.

  • chris barns, the king of failure on TV. Gota love Micheal Haugen Jr, what a great guy, and what a talented bowler. You'll se more of him.

  • I like chirs barnes ALOT but he always seems like he is under preasure all the time....

  • Thank you for uploading this terrific match. Even though I wanted Chris to win, it was exciting seeing a huge comeback!

  • Is sooo sad the finish

  • watch from 1.50 onwards it sounds like he says fuck

  • Haugen is just as bad as Schlegel because of his performance after Barnes threw the shot.

  • you really have to consider the fact that barnes had a 50 pin lead at one point.

  • Yeah, you know, its okay to yell and jump around after a man has just thrown a shot to lose, cuz thats real sportsman like conduct.

  • thats excitement. he showed sportsmanship after that.

  • @4GPA are you fuckin kidding? what would u do? would you rather he walked up to chris and say hey man i was hoping u'd strike so i'd lose the tournament? He just won his 2nd title and first major sitting on the bench i would do the same. Hell I'd do the same if i won one of my own towns "majors" in that fashion.

  • @spyder803300 Well then, sir, you and Haugen are both poor sports for the reason that you both feel it necessary to be a sore winner by rubbing it in to your opponent when you beat them.

  • @4GPA I couldn't disagree more. Haugen Jr. is the nicest person on tour, and when come back like that, ESCPECIALLY in a MAJOR event, after all the years he's struggled to win and watching chris barns cock off, he diserves this.

  • @XxXxTLoZXxXx No, he deserves a punch in the face.

  • @4GPA it's not rubbing it in your opponents face it's showing excitement. It's pure elation. He shook Chris' hand that's all the sportmanship you'll see in professional bowling. I'm sorry to say. To show emotion is not poor sportsmanship i'm sorry to say.

  • @spyder803300 Then you, sir, are a clown.

  • Comment removed

  • @4GPA why am i such a clown? what makes you say that? You don't even know me internet tough guy.

  • @spyder803300 Pathetic. You can't even think of a comeback. "Internet tough guy." Utterly amazing. I'll never recover from that one.

  • Comment removed

  • @4GPA Because i'm not trying to put you down. I don't judge a book by it's cover. I don't know you i have no reason to show my male machismo to you. I would rather just calmly talk about how i feel your wrong in your opinion of Michael Haugen jr and myself.

  • @spyder803300 Oh, ok. So you want to tell me what I should think, and what my opinions should be. Ok, you fascist.

  • @4GPA I'm as far from a fascist as it comes. You're making opinions of ppl you have never met nor ever will but i'm the fascist? lol And you've come to name calling because you have no more good comebacks. I'm finished with you 4gpa. You're a child who knows nothing of a true competition. I hope you one day are in Michael Haugens shoes. I would love to see you console the loser instead of celebrating your impobable victory

  • @spyder803300 I wonder if you saw the U.S. Open from this year, when Mika Koivuniemi needed a mark in the tenth to beat Norm Duke and win the tournament when he missed a 10 pin and lost the match. And what did Norm do at that time? Well, Norm did not react like a giant asshole high fiving people in the crowd. Instead of just sat in his chair, and later in the post-game interview, Norm admitted to being shocked by what happened and said his heart went out to Mika. That is a true professional.

  • @4GPA Oh yes i saw the open. I certainly did. I also have seen the match between norm duke and bryan goebel you ever seen that? look it up. and you'll see what norm duke is known for on the tour. He's year in and out voted the biggest gamesman on tour. He's known to speed up the match to unknown paces when his opponent is off the mark and slow it down to a crawl when he's on the mark to throw his opponent off. But you didn't know all of that did you? It's part of the psyche of bowling

  • @4GPA I"m not saying it's against any rules just what he's known to do. everyone that bowls against him knows it and he knows they know it. And he's not alone they all do it it's professional bowling. Get over yourself kid it's called competition and the point is to win and to win at all costs.

  • @spyder803300 Another example... During the 1991 Fair Lanes Open, Pete Weber got up and struck out in the tenth to force Del Ballard Jr. to throw two strikes and 7 pins to win the tournament. Del got the two strikes and threw a gutter ball on his fill ball to lose the tournament. What did Weber do? Well, he did not start yelling and high-fiving people in the crowd. Again, similar situation in which he almost had no shot, but still won. A true professional does not act like an asshole.

  • @4GPA Ah yes Pete Weber a true professional.... this is the same guy who yells at cameramen and crotch chops his opponents. Hey look i love pete weber and norm duke. I fully respect them. I just don't see how u can call one a "true professional" and someone else who's celebrating a victory not a professional. I mean really. Was don johnson not a professional cuz on his 299 he went to his knees? That's not ordinary for a professional to do on a strike shot is it?

  • @spyder803300 Actually it is. There is nothing wrong with celebrating after throwing a good shot, or getting mad after a bad shot. However, it is the people who celebrate after an opponent makes a blunder that makes them an asshole. Next time an opponent of yours loses a match to you by a pin, immediately run onto the approach while they are still up there and start yelling, then high five every person you can, and see how you feel. Personally, I would feel like an asshole if I ever did that

  • @4GPA so would i if i did it in LEAGUE. Now the tournament of champions is a totally different story. Completely different story can you at least agree w/ me on that ?

  • @spyder803300 No. However, I do not believe one should not celebrate at all. But as Pat Croce once said, everything in moderation. Yes, one can be happy with a big win, but there is no reason to over do it.

  • @spyder803300 Yeah, Haugen is a jerk for doing what he did. even though its not against the rules he still shouldn't have done it. he didn't have to act that way in front of Barnes, he should've waited to celebrate and not have done it the second after Chris missed the shot. Haugen's just a sore winner.

  • honestly randy peterson was annoying this match

  • Are you kidding me? Choke artist?? I bet all of you wish you were just half as good as he is! quit being such turds!

  • I meant the first time he left the 4 pin.

  • It looks like Barnes had too much hand on that 4 pin leave.

  • 03:53 that was a fucking perfenct ball...HOW

  • sure was perfect enough to miss it

  • 50 foot oil pattern.

  • 9:36 that was a fucking perfenct ball...HOW

  • that wasnt perfect it went high dumd nuts

  • WOW let that be a lesson you wanna be good practice the corner pins!!!

  • I wish that silly fawk would give up on the "ham bone".. ugh..

  • Nice going Mike...never give up! Leo and Gloriann - Countryclub

  • This is why it pays to never throw in the towel even if the deficit is seemingly insurmountable. Just as Haugen says, "Never give up."

  • Haugens been on the tour for around a decade, he fell off a year then dominated tour trials, hes far better player than all the big hooking crankers struggling to make the tour, this is overdue for him

  • no he doesn't he rules

  • barnes sucks

  • no but dale jr does.

  • no but barnes does

  • Haugen Jr.: AMF Maximum Velocity, AMF Radar Lock, AMF Radar Alert

    Barnes: Columbia 300 Momentum

  • how is he annoying? hes a pretty nice guy and was excited to win the toc like 3 months after his 1st title

  • listen at 1:54-1:55, he says fucked lmao

  • The commentator put it right. haugen was to leave the establishment after the 5th frame. I believe it takes a big man to stay and fight. All sportsman have a lot to learn.

  • Wow how can you say that lol when he won player of the year in 07-08 season. Chris Barnes has been a very consistent player and probably one of the most versatile next to Walter Ray. He has always been good in the clutch, but missing a 10 pin just made him so depressed that it was hard to get up and even throw 9/X to tie.

  • chris barnes is much more versitle then Walter Ray haha.... He isnt better but MORE VERSITLE by far... Walter Ray cant move in like Barnes and when he does all he leaves is weak ten weak ten weak ten... Duke on the other hand is pretty damn versitle but Walter isnt in the same league when it comes to versitility as Barnes or Duke, but walter sure can win.

  • Walter can be versatile, he can hook it, and weak ten is better than strike, 4-9, big 4, strike, washout, Walter is so great because he CAN be versatile. He led the league average, by over 3 pins, on 5 different oil patterns. (plus special oil patterns)

  • Everyone says walter is SOOO versitle no he isnt... He is INSANELY GREAT YES the best bowler that ever lived but he isnt as versitle as Norm Duke, or Chris Barnes. Even Mark Baker who knows walter ray very well and got him lined up and wining again will tell you he isnt as versitle as duke or barnes. The end.

  • Yet my point still stands that he leagues the league in average. If that isn't versatile then I don't know what is.

  • you obviously havent seen walter ray from the 80's and early 90's playing way inside...way before barnes started doing it...walter ray found a spot that he could hammer at and WIN...it doesnt matter how VERSITILE you are if you can WIN. I dont like Barnes I think he is too cocky and when he loses its like he doesnt understand how (whiff 10???). Duke rules but Barnes? no way

  • Lol Chris Barnes 2007-2008 Bowler of the year. Kthxgoodbye. and it does matter how versitle you are. Norm duke wouldnt have 30+ titles if he wasnt versitle. Walter playing way inside before Chris Barnes... UM no shit you donkey Chris Barnes didnt bowl on tour until 1999 oh yea rookie of the year that year. And dont tell me Walter can hoook it like barnes cuz he cant.

  • Chris Barnes 07-08 POY...lol

doesnt compare to WRW's 6 POYS and

come on Barnes is the PBAs resident choke artist and everyone knows it...for god sakes

he even sucked in the AllStar shows...

  • You obviously don't know about Chris Barnes Amatuer carear because if you had you would realise he has probably made more money then any bowler that ever lived. Such a choker that he is laughing all the way to the bank!

  • amatuer career? man...

thats sad when you whip that out...

who cares?! im not at all saying he isnt a bad bowler

for god sakes he is on the PBA TOUR with 10 titles...and $1,417,279. But to say he is better than WRWjr is rediculous. Walter Ray is second only to Earl "the pearl".

  • tell me once where i said barnes was better then WRW? please find that for me? and idk how you can say earl better then walter one was a lefty that bowled in the 70-80's one was a righty who bowled in mid 80's on... very unfair. I simly said Chris Barnes is the most versitle bowler in the world.

  • ok ur right sorry.

I am a HUGE WRW fan but I still think

Earl is the greatest...I might even put WRW behind Dick Weber...just for what they did for the sport, no doubt that when it comes to game Walters got it most accurate player ever. But i wouldnt put him #1.

  • np np, Walter is awesome but they had a contest way of finding out a few years ago and suprsigngly Parker Bohn is the most accurate bowler on tour, I couldnt believe it but it makes tons of sense... Some also say Don Carter is most accurate bowler off all time. But if i needed someone to hit the pocket for me to save my life i'm taking WRW all day long.

  • oh ya...I can see that.

Bohn has more career 300s than anyone.

I just feel lucky as a bowler who is aspiring to be a pro...

to just WATCH these guys...after meeting PDW

    it leaves u wanting more

  • uhhhh, alrighty then!!!! Walter Ray can play inside and has played inside before! He can get around the ball when he chooses to just like Duke and Barnes. Its just that more often he'll play the straight shot cause that's what he's best at. However I would agree that Williams Jr., Barnes, and Duke are the top 3 most versatile players on the tour probably along with Tommy Jones as well.

  • OMG ?! in row 5 he was losing 65 - 120 then he won the match ??

  • Normally Randy talks about non-relevant items. Does anyone else think he and Rob Stone have to go? I hope they find someone else a little more interesting and knowledgeable for next year

  • Wtf did Randy say at 1:54?

  • he meant to say found, it sounded like fuck

  • yes it did lol

  • Please accept my apology. Mrtvman hacked my account and posted the negative comment below. I did report him.

  • mrtvman has sunk to a new low.

  • That guy is such a dick

  • I dont believe it was Barnes over thinking it that lost him the match, it was him rushing that missed 10 pin. He should have taken alot more time with it, seeing that it was the difference in the final outcome.

  • Barnes gets pretty tight under pressure, but hey, look at all the shows he makes. He's doing a lot right to get there. Win some, lose some.

  • He won today.....which was almost a must for him!

  • in his case win some, lost a shitload

  • Thank you mrbowling300

  • Might it be a bit harsh to say that? I mean, if he truly was a choke artist, he wouldn't be making as many shows as he is and has. You've got to do lots of things right to get yourself in a position to "choke," after all.

By the way, if you look at Marshall Holman's record, you could make the same argument. He had a losing record on TV, and by quite a bit.

They're both similar in that their mental games (IMO) were their biggest enemies. When they don't overthink it, they're awesome.

  • Chris...@ no 9 frame is terrible...too relax? and stree at the end...

  • I feel bad for Chris Barnes but....only he could lose a match on TV like this.

  • wow that really sucks for barnes...i feel really sorry for him. but congrats to haugen for getting the 5 bagger....he wouldn't have won it any other way.

  • All Chris Barnes can say is 'Dam...Dam...DDAAYYYUUUMMMM!!!!!

  • When pros shoot at spares do they shoot with their wrist cupped like on their strike balls or do they flatten out their wrist?

  • I think most will flatten their wrist...this creates less hook on the ball, and will allow them to go a straighter line to the spare.

  • "he's fixin to put boots to him" LOL!

  • little did Randy know that Chris was actually fixin to flag a 10 pin

always hate to wish ill on others, but it really couldn't have happened to a better guy. Haugen is a class act and has deserved both of the breaks he's gotten in 10th frames this year

  • I've bowled in a pro am with Haugen, Jr. a few years ago...he was a lot of fun to bowl with.

  • Unfortunately, so many people focus on the negative in that Barnes gave the match away - all the credit in the world should be given to Michael Haugen. He showed what a true champion is made of in never giving up.

  • A few bad breaks for Barnes i.e. ringing 10 pins; had he gotten all ten to go down he could've won, but nevertheless he should not have missed the 10 pin.

Props to Haugen for sticking it out until the end.

  • Chris Barnes just got careless in the end plain and simple. He almost did it last year when he won the geico classic.

  • I had to go back and watch the match again after it was all over. Stunning to say the least. Haugen made the shots, Barnes did not. My heart goes out to both men, especially Haugen who has a legitimate shot at Player of the Year.

  • Wouldn't that be something if Haugen Jr., becomes player of the year!

  • If that were to happen... that would eb the greatest outcome ever!! Not to say I don't like Walter Ray... but Haugen deserves it!

  • Barnes is the ultimate burger on TV...deserved to lose after missing that ten pin..choke artist!!

  • Down goes Frazier

  • haugen's performance yesterday is the definition of resilience... what an inspiration... i like how he yelled "never give up!" or something to that effect, at the end of the match...

  • isnt it ironic how chris barnes is using a ball called momentum cause you defo so a momentum shift in that game lol see chris's bottom lip was like a baby looked ilke he was gonig to cry, linda i lost save me from this please!!!!!!!! l;ol

  • Well, if I went from 53 up in the 7th to losing the Tournament of Champions on the last ball... well, I can't blame him for being devastated.

I can't remember a turnaround this dramatic in a long time. Closest I can remember is the Dorin-Ballard vs. Asbaty match earlier in the year, Diandra was down 40, but "only" in the fifth. lol

  • oh my, that was pretty sick...barnes had the match in his pocket and managed to give it away, amazing.

  • barnes... wow, thats the worst feeling you can ever have. i feel bad for him. haugen.... congrats to him for not disappearing and giving up when he looked soo doomed after 5 frames. WTG !

  • lol im pretty sure randy peterson jinx Chris Barnes lol. When it was the 6th frame he started saying things that you would say to a beginner bowler. "Calm Down, relax, convert the spare" After he starts talking like that Chris Barnes was finished.

Congrats to Haugen though, well deserved hes always been one of my favorite bowlers

  • Haugen has always been one of my favorites, I am so glad he's doing great this season with 2 titles already!! :D

  • I remember when Haugen Jr. stuck it to Pete Weber a while back with a near perfect 279 to 289. Doesn't surprise me. The guy can really do it under pressure. But I still really bad for Barnes here.

  • Don't forget what he did to win his first title, either. He struck in the 10th to beat Todd Book in the first game, then struck out to force Wes Malott to strike in the 10th.

  • Went from 53 down in the 7th to winning his first major in the 10th. Absolutely amazing.

I mean, look at that 2nd shot in the 10th - $50,000 on the line, your first major, a shot at the Roll to Riches and an exemption for 2 years... Extrapolate the numbers, and that was possibly a $250,000 shot. And he absolutely stuffed it.

I think it's time to say that Michael Haugen Jr. is one of the best clutch players on tour today.

  • Incredible!!!! Let this match be a lesson to all the bowlers out there, especially the younger ones. Getting mad or upset when you arn't haveing the best game never helps, just suck up the errors and focus on your next shot! Crazy things happen all the time in this sport!

  • One of the best comebacks ive ever seen.

  • I've bowled with Haugen Jr. before in a pro-am at Taylor Lanes in Michigan. He was very nice to bowl with. At the time, I never heard of him before. It was probably the late 90s, or about 2000?
