  • Watch some of my videos! Overpopulated world is a BIG PROBLEM! In other words, stop screwing!

  • Remember that the overpopulation in all countries cannot be blamed on gay people so take that as a cheap shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In Canada, small possession charges are rare. Very rare. Why?

Because the court sees it as a waste of time.

  • SPIT THE COCK DAMN FAGGOT!

  • BARNEY FAG THE BANKING QUEEN IS A FUCKING LIAR, HE'S THE PIECE OF SHIT ALONG WITH BILL CLINTON WHO PUSHED FOR MORE HOME OWNERSHIP BY THE POOR WHO COULDN'T PAY IT BACK!

  • @willhunting1995 If Bill Clinton encouraged lots of home ownership during his time... and it was bad... how come Bush didn't repeal all them home ownership rules that led to the collapse? They had 8 years... why didn't they do anything? Why didn't the Republicans remove abortion? They had 8 years... full control of congress... why didn't they do anything?

  • Go Barney!

  • The best politician in Washington.

    Barney Frank for president!

  • Every time I learn something new about Barney Frank, I like him more and more...

  • smart fucking man

  • Barny is a idiot! Hes responsible for the housing crash. Why do they still vote for him?? Wow dum Americans would rather research Britney Spears.

  • idc as long as he's decriminalized herb, he's just fine by me.

  • hahaha someone said cigarettes are more enjoyable that weed? ummmm.

    1) cigarettes taste like ass 2) cigarettes make you crazy 3) cigarettes are filled with more chemicals than Windex.

    NOO thank you.

  • I like Barney Frank's ideas on pot but his economic policy sucks! I really don't know what to make of him.

  • Barney Frank is the Man! Lets get this bill passed!

  • Barney Frank is god. From an Online poker player and libertarian standpoint of course. He is attempting to get marijuana legalized, he is introducing a bill to revese the effects of the UIGEO, he is pro gay marriage. I really do believe his career will be amongst the most influential in modern history.

  • This video was posted along time ago did he ever do that? I dont think he did.

  • yes he did. n we r all happier people 4 it. seriously

  • does anyone know the name of the woman on the panel?

  • Booze legal ?

That's one hell of a powerful....... DRUG !

    Weed gets u a criminal record ?

    WOW

  • put it in with one of those rip off sale-out plans and it will pass with flying colours...lets get real con-gress is into taking our rights not giving them

  • Barney Frank needs to have statues built of him.

  • God bless the Commonwealth of Massachusetts!Mass has effectively decriminalized personal amounts of pot (up to 1 oz.). Now it's subject to a $100 fine, without some bullshit criminal record. Once again, Mass has proved itself the most forward looking state in the Union.

  • Amen. I mean, smoke crack and you may drop dead of a heart attack, it is Russian roulette. Marijuana? mellows you up. Whiskey is more dangerous. A heavy drinker will be dead a lot sooner than a pot smoker.

    Go Massachusetts!

  • In America, costs of incarceration alone for possession on marijuana (and keep in mind that people with more than 15 grams get charged with higher offenses) is over $1 billion USD. Since the 1970s, the entire war on drugs has cost over $2 trillion USD in incarceration, enforcement, and propoganda.

It's the biggest waste of money on earth. Time to end prohibition, billions wasted on this sill policy, time to crack down on organized crime by taking away their biggest industry.

  • You're all brain washed by your parents, church and the special interest groups that control our government. Lawyers and the legal system profit from prohibition, it's costly, ineffective and denies us our right to pursue happiness. So does marriage after divorce. Who cares what homos do, that people smoke pot? Cigarettes, booze and Marriage is by far more harmful to your wealth and health. That's a statistical and scientific fact. Pleas tell me why Gays are fight for the right to marry?

  • I think that running you over with my car would make me happy because of the stupid, rediculous comment you made, but unfortunately illegal. Do you think the laws against murder are unconstitutional because it denies the right to the pursuit of happyness for one person? I'd love to see your sources for that "statistical and scientific fact." I bet you got it from the Huffington post.

  • The audience is so high! They love it! And I love it!

  • Those of us living in the "reality based community" realize that almost everyone working in DC with an R or D after his name is a money grabbing scum bum. I lost what little respect I had for congress years ago. They all answer to their corporate paymasters not the electorate.

  • Too bad a credible congressman doesn't feel the same way. This guy is a joke.

  • Rep. Barney Frank is not a joke of a congressmen you must be thinking of Rep. Kucinich. Rep. Frank is the 7th most powerful representative in the House of Representatives. In addition to the fact that he is the chairman of the Financial Services Committee.

  • He's a douche bag. Elmer Fudd would make a better Congressman

  • I believe ppl should understand that the stock market is just a large casino and everyone enters at their own risk. Yes he was wrong about it but he's right about marijuana and drug laws.

  • he didnt actualy say people should invest in frannie mae he said it would be a bad invstment

  • what ever happened to this?

  • The only reason why it is not decriminalized yet is people profit from it being that way. Think about all the federal agencies, district attorneys, lawyers, probation officers, cops, anti-drug organizations that all get a cut of the billions of dollars thrown away each year? Cannabis is harmless do not believe the lies! Vote to save your tax dollars! Prohibition is unconstitutional!

  • Don't forget the tobacco and alcohol companies wouldn't sell as much of their stuff if people could grow their own in their back yards !

  • What does tobacco have to do with marijuana? It's a completely different stimulant. A lot of people smoke cigarettes after they smoke marijuana because the cigarette is more enjoyable. Sure a lot of people would grow their own in their back yard, but most would get marijuana over the counter and would include either a state or federal tax. What a dumb statement.

  • A "Cigarette is more enjoyable!" Fool. I don't know what you've been smoking!

  • Seriously!

  • god bless u barney frank

  • Screw prescription anti-depressants.. smoke a J!!!

  • agreed

  • maryjane makes me happy

  • That's why part of me want's to be a politician, i will be able to change laws according to the people best interests.

  • It would save many cancer sufferers, people would choose a less harmful substance(cannabis) over a more harmful one(alcohol).

  • OMG thats amazing!!! I think we're finally gonna be free. Cannabis is a miracle substance!! Thanks God people are noticing it now.

  • Please act by visiting MPP's site and "ask your U.S. House member to co-sponsor this legislation"! If everyone works together we will make progress together. Simply entertaining yourself by watching this video and moving on to another video while not acting doesn't help! Please, take a few brief moments to participate, let your voice be heard! MPP also has a channel here on YouTube, one of their most recent videos is titled, "Barney Frank Introduces Marijuana Decriminalization Bill"!

  • Decriminalization of marijuana is essential. We've been under the heavy hand of oppressive laws for too long. Why make something that god gave us illegal? I hope that this actually goes through. Since the feds have lost funding for their so-called "drug war" maybe it will work?

  • Needs to be Legalized not Decriminalized. It should be 100% legal for me to grow it in my backyard without being taxed it comes from the earth just like Veggies and Fruit. It's a Herb and it's good for you :).

  • Passenger87, First things first we need to decriminalize to save lives then worry about the rest later.

  • You know, it does kinda make sense. Define an amount that is considered "only suitable for personal use" and make that legal. Anything over that - you're dealing and it is still a crime. After all, you're the idiot who's doing drugs and as long as you're not enabling anyone else to, why should it be a crime? Go back to the days of drug laws merely existing for controlling trade in drugs. Barney Frank - I would have your babies if I was a member of your stated sexual preference!

  • I agree with Barney Frank on the issue of marijuana despite leaning Republican!

  • Oh my God! That would be amazing!

  • I honestly think that if Barney Frank ran for president he would get a decent amount of votes and possibly win. I hope he does.

  • It just GREAT to hear about things like this. I hope to Christ it passes. I'll try to keep a positive mind about it but realistically, I doubt it has a chance to pass under the fascist regime we now live under. Who knows though. Maybe if we all send our green vibes that way it will help? Ooooooh I'm gonna try, with a little help from my friends.... ooooh I get high with a liitle help from my friends:)

  • This is great. Imagine the impact that this bill would have on decrease of arrests and our already busting at the seams prison system. The savings to the taxpayers, the environmental impact that the increase of industrial and commercial possibilites for hemp usage legislation that would surely follow. Good stuff.

  • Woooooo! I love you Barney! Although, I think it would have been better to introduce the bill under the OBAMA administration in a year or so. But maybe it still has a chance to pass under this corrupted corroding asshole George W. Bush.

  • I hope it goes threw...

  • When will people realize that this is not about harming yourself (which it hardly does) it is about liberty.

  • haha as soon as he make the sugestion and everyone started cheering i just smiled and laughed a little. im 100% for legalization and hearing all those people cheer was just an amazing sound to hear cause i know i would be to =]

  • There are well over 750,000 imprisoned in the US for marijuana related offenses. Given the medically proven harmlessness of the "drug" (it's totally non-toxic and is NOT addicting), and it's effectiveness to help people with diverse medical problems (even cancer and Alzheimer's), this is insane!!

The persecution must stop. The laws against marijuana are ACTUAL crimes, that actually REALLY hurt people.

And all out of ignorance, and conscious mis-information. Stop this stupidity!!!

  • 5'ed fav'ed subbed and featured.

Go to Govetrack(Dot)Us and click on legislators at the top to get the names of the representative in your district as well as your senators names. Then go to house(dot)gov and click representatives for links to all of your representatives websites.

Send them an email telling them you support this legislation. WE CAN DO THIS!

  • HERE IS A TEMPLATE LETTER FOR YOU TO GO OFF OF:

    April 20th, 2008

    [Congressperson's name and address]

    Dear [Rep./Sen. _______],

As your consitutent living in [town name], I'm writing to ask you to support the Marijuana Decriminalization Bill submitted by Rep. Barney Frank (D) because [post your reasons here]. Thank you for your consideration and for your service.

    Sincerely,

    [Name] [City]

  • Today, a bill to eliminate all federal penalties for marijuana possession was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives.

"The Personal Use of Marijuana by Responsible Adults Act of 2008," introduced by Congressman Barney Frank (D-Mass.), would eliminate the threat of arrest and prison for the possession of up to 3.5 ounces of marijuana and/or the not-for-profit transfer of up to one ounce of marijuana.

Members of Congress need to hear from their constituents who want to see it passed.

  • About time! When the Government finally decriminalizes marijuana, a lot of people will gain some respect for our officials.

  • it's unfortunate that there are still many people that equate marijuana to heroin and meth etc. yes it is true.

write your local reps. they are there for a reason. be heard. take a step closer to being free.

  • so when does this bill go to the House? i been reading it hasn't been introduced yet. anyone know the number on the bill? or anything other than him just mentioning it?

  • oh forgot there on vacation. so when do they go back

  • This is a smart man, smoking weed made alot of friends for me.. & like he said make room for the serious criminals weed was put on this earth by god what else would he want us to do with it

  • Yes im ready to have my rights as a cannabis user realized!

  • Yes im ready to have my rights as a cannabis user realized!

  • Yes im ready to have my rights as a cannabis user realized!

  • I heard about this somewhere else, and was really happy to see a movement like this. I think the last time this has happened was in the 70's. I think we should push it harder and harder every year.

Most presidential candidates have admitted to smoking marijuana. Why should the people who smoke it, be punished and put in the same jails as murderers and rapists? How many lives has this prohibition cost? Educate yourself! It's time to do the right thing and legalize.

  • Contact your senator and representative!

Just google "senator" or "representative" and click on the first pages that show up.

    Voice your opinion now!

  • It's about time! Prosecuting and imprisoning these otherwise law-abiding citizens is not only immoral, it's a profound waste of taxpayers' money.

  • I really hope that this is passed into law. As soon as it's introduced I'm going to tell my representatives that they should vote for it.

  • We have the highest incarceration rates of any industrialized country. More than one out of every hundred Americans is in jail right now! We spent 50 billion on corrections in 2007, a 127% increase from 20 years ago (corrected for inflation). States spend something like 7% of their budget on corrections. When this much money is being spent, it becomes a huge industry, with lobbyists, etc. People need to pay attention to what we are really accomplishing with this money.

  • I really don't see what's the problem with marijuana. What sense is there to lock up non-violent pot smokers for years, seems retarded to me.

  • I want a pot store in my neighborhood!

    CA gets everything. No fair!

  • Approved

  • 500 billion dollars on the war on drugs and pot is easier to get than ever. time to start cashing in, uncle sam.

  • We've never had a serious discussion of legalization of drugs in this country. There are plenty of European examples to draw on; what worked and what didn't? It seems like legalization of pot, and then taxing and regulating it, would be a better solution than what we have now.

  • The facts are in: Prohibition NEVER worked. More people died, more corruption, more crime under prohibition than did prior. If social drugs are federalized and taxed, we could spend billions on education, roads, rebuilding our cities, etc..

THank you Barney Frank for being sensible. He is not the first!! There are entire movements out there to remove prohibition. Google it!

  • Please educate your elected officials about the tragedy of the war on marijuana and insist they support Barney's bill. Get your friends to do the same - it's an issue that should concern any American. We waste around one billion $/week on the war on some drugs and the pot prohibition is a big cog in this beaurocratic wheel.
