I've studied a lot on psychiatry (and watched my fair share of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit) to know that this song is probably about a pedophile loving a child. I mean, it might not be, but it makes sense. Usually pedophiles have a distorted view on their love for children. They think that non-pedophiles are the freaks. They usually think in their minds that it is okay and they are truly in love with children, just in a different way. This song makes a lot of sense if you listen.

a lyric that always intrigued me from this song is in the chorus when he sings "if you could only see how blue her eyes can be when she says she loves me". some people say he means blue as in sad..but i think he means it in the literal sense. like, she looks sweeter, even more lovely, and irresistible when she's professing her love to him. yeah..i just wanted to share that =)

I knew this song for so long but only had a first look at the lyrics right now...

My very own interpretation of it is that the girl had a boyfriend but fell in love with the lyrical I and so did he. The the boys could have been good friends or something like that. But as the boyfriend doesn't (want to) see that his girlfriend doesn't really love him anymore and maybe even forces her to stay with him, the lyrical I tries to explain their love.

It's simply beautifull. Great song!
