It's the fact that people compare it to itself and it did get better and worse, that happens to every show and it's difficult to help. Once JD left it wasn't quite as good because they need time to settle in but they didn't really get the time they needed because people were expecting it to be the same show and it wasn't...

The last episode of season 8 was, to me, one of the most memorable and powerful ending to a true show that i've ever seen.
