The sinhalese language dubbing of this was way funnier than this, and is still popular to this day in Sri Lanka. I just watched this in English for the first time, and I was truly disappointed. I thought originals are supposed to be better than translations, but this is one exception...
To the man from Uncle - I was the Drummer in the "Grasshoppers" we were formed to do this cartoon series and I have been looking for them for years to show my Grandchildren :)) If you could upload two more episodes that would be great!
Glyn Thomas ( Drummer in the original Grasshoppers )
I remember this. Sam Scurvy looks more like a slimmed down version of George Melly. It was definitely in the wake of Rex Harrison's film version. Wisely or inwisely they didn't include Emma Fairfax. She'd just have become a damsel in distress character like Daphne in Scoocy Doo.
In the US, on 12 September 1970 on Saturday mornings; in the UK, on 25 November 1971, on BBC 1 at teatime on Thursdays. It frightened me to death back in the day and it's exactly as I remembered it (I hadn't seen it for nearly 35 years). A great watch, though, and a big thank you to the user who posted it - I thought it had been lost and forgotten about.
how do you know the air dates??! I am not sure whether I watched this or the 1984 series advertised in imDb..I watched it on BBC around 1989..I wonder if that's available to compare. I lvoe retro toons, thanks mill!!

@nirmalsuki Yeah, Dosthara Hodahita, It's way better than English original. To add some, they broadcast once again. Every sunday 7 am SLRC.

Thanks for posting this. Before my time, but I appreciate its historical value and wouldn't get to see it otherwise.

@Cool2BCeltic DOCTOR DOOLITTLE was was a box office bomb in movie theaters in 1967. I saw it on video about ten years ago and it was really bad.
