Hi i am trying to breed my black moor with my calico moor. could you help me through the process? I have a 20 gallon tank with a good filter but i also have another fancy goldfish in the tank ( not a moor ) and im not sure of its gender. should I take the other fish out in order for the other two to mate properly?
Nice videos dude. Watching this makes me want to get into fish breeding for a little hobby ;)
I have a black moor & a fantail goldfish, both are under a year old. Is there a chance they may breed with them being different? I have a video of them and I'm still not 100% if they're male or female!
At young ages it is a bit hard to distinguish them but here is what you can look after:
-The male is usually smaller and more slender that the female.
-In the breeding season the male has white prickles, called breeding tubercles, on its gill covers and head. Seen from above the female will have a fatter appearance
To induce spawning, the temperature can be slowly dropped to around 11° C (60° F ) and then slowly warmed until they spawn
your so lucky

They can breed given they are different sex.

Also separating the male from the female for a while can help. After you re-introduce them to each the likelihood of spawning is higher.
Anyway, you might want to check my other videos. I posted a new one yesterday. They are 4 months old now!

There is a whole bunch of plants in the bucket.
