  • I was sent her from Udacity too! What a fantastic lady Grace Hopper is. Love her sense of humor. :)

  • Udacity sent me here too. Great,

  • I met her at NAS North Island, where the tech center bearing name resides. I gushed over her as only a nerd could, then begged her for a nano second. Possibly the coolest lady I have ever had the pleasure to meet.

  • what a spark-plug she is. witty as hell.

  • Udacity :)

  • Such an adorable lady!

Thank you for this sharing this video.

  • Quadrillionth? Pico=Trillionth. Femto is a quadrillionth.

  • @LKBM it's possible she was talking about the "long scale" for numbers, but it was probably just a mistake anyways

  • Can Dave say "Yah" anymore?

  • now that is an intelligent person!

  • Here because of Udacity

  • lmao she is so funny!

  • oops, a picosecond is a trillionth of a second, not a quadrillionth (that would be femtosecond).

  • First time I ever saw Dave look cowed by a guest. She was one sharp lady. Wish she was still around, I'd have loved to have met her.

  • @gibgezr I'm right there with you. She was a blast, and she probably kept her people on their toes, and perhaps smiling while they were at it.

You're right, I've never seen Dave look quite so out of his element. Although I think he genuinely had fun talking to her. ;)

  • Udacity!

  • Awesome video! What a sharp woman, even at her age. Very impressive.

  • @4:25 test

  • "You can't derive the organization of the navy. You have to memorize it." Thats some style and humor!

  • She's brilliant! It's great to see an elderly woman who's been on the cutting edge of computer technology since it had edges. I hope I'm that sharp when I retire.

  • Udacity me trajo aquí :D

  • "How did you know so much about computers then?"

"I didn't! It was the first one."

I laughed so hard at this.

  • @MrOJFord Man, she is one funny lady.

  • i thought they didn't let women in the navy in WW2?

  • @knightschwartz Sure they did! They were called WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service). The army had WAC (Women's Army Corps) in WWII.

  • I am surprise to see that this videos doesn't have millions of views

  • Great interview! What is the date of this show?

  • @sprezzaturarrd She was 37 in 1944, and nearly 80 here, so I guess about 1987 (month/day ??)

  • @sgs138 She was born 9 of December 1906 so this should have been in 1986.

  • @Naughtyboy2 Between September 1986 & 9th December 1986, as it was after she finished in the Navy on 31st August 2400hrs, but before she was 80 :-)

  • what an amazing person!

  • There are very large number of nanoseconds... XDDD

  • Legend.

  • Wow.
