I loved KOSMOS' English voice for this one. I thought the actress that voiced her did a good job. Sure, one might say, "well, she voiced a robot...not hard to sound robotic..." But still! I felt she did a good job!
Plus, I liked how the characters came out in this one. They looked their worst in part 2, in my opinion. xD
It's certainly a melancholy song. I love all the versions of Hepatica, but there's something beautifully redeeming in this song. So although I might consider it a candidate for most beautiful song of all time, I can't help but smile through the tears this song brings. It's a song of sadness and hope (to me), which are maybe perfect opposites, so I can't think of this song as the saddest of all time. :)

@nicknicksiren To Zanarkand is a good theme, and has emotion in it, but Kokoro from XS1 is much more full of emotion, and Pain from XS1 as well, even more emotion. Don't get me wrong, Nobuo is still my favorite composer for VG music, but Yuki Kajura is a close close second, and with XS and .hack under her belt... you can't deny her brilliance

I have to say that Pain from Xenosaga 1 should have made top 10 because it was freaking sad the first time when you think you're gonna lose KOS-MOS. Before there was a XS2 with her on the cover and all of course.
There are only 2 songs that have ever made me cry, the ending them to "Folklore" and then this one, which made me cry like a little baby! That may also be cause Jin was my favorite character ever... but yeah. As a side note, Xenosaga III is also the first game to ever make me cry, ever! XD

Anyhow, I would agree that this piece of music is quite good, better than the rest, but it's not sad. I feel a lot of hope in this piece, rather than sadness - it might just be me though. Haha :D

This is one of my favorite games of all time. A game's OST is very important to me, and this one couldn't go wrong. This song, like many parts of the game, made me cry many times over. The ending was quite possibly the saddest I've seen in an RPG. Crisis Core has nothing on this one!
All of the former members of the Xenosaga design team are all working on other projects. The chances of them even considering making the second half are slim to none. Besides, if they did, chances are, they would have a different design team and it would be nothing like the first 3 games :P
@goldman77700 True...but Tales Of isn't really a popular series. There also aren't going to be many localized games anymore because Namco pushed all their debt on Tales of studio.
Then again, Terranigma is a very old game but still has great music.

@bluesilverworks Monolith was, and as far as I know, still is it's own company. But I don't believe Monolith has sold themselves to anyone. And it was Namco that did these games, not Square/Enix which proves further that Square/Enix is good, but not the best.
At 12.10am 27th September 2010. Ellie, my beloved hamster died. she was suffering great pain for the past few days and was losing a lot of weight. We thought she was getting better, but she was still shaking from pain and from the cold. before her death my mother comforted her, cleaned her up and fed her. Ellie managed to stop shaking, but her eyes opened and closed. mother put her in her cage but she died moments later. R.I.P Ellie, the greatest hamster in the world...we all miss you dearly..

@Riaquaza I've had 9 hamsters since I was little, and it is hard to watch them go. But I always just remind myself that they are only short-term friends. Never easy to let an animal go, even a lil' hammy!
There may not be a Xenosaga Ep. 4 however that doesn't mean it wont come out under a new name. Just cause this game was the end of the Xeno(saga) trilogy doesn't mean its the end of the Xeno series. Xenogears was episode 5 of the series. The next game in the series might have the title Xenogears, since it would have to take place on the same planet as the original Xenogears. It will most likely be about the events leading up to the original game, if it ever does come out.

@gorboy I'll explain 12 was sci-fi in the sense that they had all that crazy technology it was obvious they borrowed a lot from star wars.I consider 12 to be sci-fi cause of the level of technology in the game.
Now both 7 and 8 had a more modern feel to i, nothing truly futuristic,not that that's a problem i like that setting too. I wanted to like 7 and 8 i really did,but the combat was boring,and the characters annoyed me.The only character in 7 i like is the one everyone seems to hate. Yuffie.
@MasakanSolaris Can't stand 13 at all. Ick. My fav's will always be 4, 6, 7, 9. One of the main things that sucked about 13 (and I didn't even bother playing it. Just watched it all) is the fact that there are so many versions of classic enemies that look robotic... That and how the ending is just like a 7 rip off. Thats what you get when Sakaguchi and Uematsu aren't involved in their legacy.

@MasakanSolaris Touche... In the game Cloud lost his mind and I loved that! The whole shock being so great he had to be pushed around in a wheelchair. I suppose they did make him a bit emo. I also can't stand the OWA theme. I personally also found that 6 was the one that had the biggest impact on me as well, and had a far better score. It just sucked you in and whisked you away, and that never seemed to happen again. It almost did with 7, but not quite. Dunno what the future holds for FF...

@nejijuan1 Oh I loved Kingdom Hearts, but you have to remember that the first KH came out while it was still Squaresoft. When 2 came it was a disappointment for me in alot of ways. I don't have high hopes for 3 ever even being made.

The music in both games is awesome!!!! All of the best epic games, with the exception of KH2 came out under Squaresoft... Xenogears, Vagrants story, tactics, FF 1- 9...

@cic346 I agree, I don't have much hope invested in FF because it was games like these that made the RPG genre and nowadays that isn't very popular anymore. Now games just focus on shoot' em ups that shouldn't really be considered RPG's.
they should make episode IV. the game should be divided into two scenearios. one with jin(been healed by chaos), KOSMOS, and chaos trying to survive in the lost jerusalem. while shion and the others trying to find lost jerusalem, finding obstacles and battles along the way..........i know i may sound stupid but HEY!! i want episode IV SO BAD!!!

This is one of my favorite games of all time. A game's OST is very important to me, and this one couldn't go wrong. This song, like many parts of the game, made me cry many times over. The ending was quite possibly the saddest I've seen in an RPG. Crisis Core has nothing on this one!

All of the former members of the Xenosaga design team are all working on other projects. The chances of them even considering making the second half are slim to none. Besides, if they did, chances are, they would have a different design team and it would be nothing like the first 3 games :P

@goldman77700 True...but Tales Of isn't really a popular series. There also aren't going to be many localized games anymore because Namco pushed all their debt on Tales of studio.
Then again, Terranigma is a very old game but still has great music.

@bluesilverworks Monolith was, and as far as I know, still is it's own company. But I don't believe Monolith has sold themselves to anyone. And it was Namco that did these games, not Square/Enix which proves further that Square/Enix is good, but not the best.

At 12.10am 27th September 2010. Ellie, my beloved hamster died. she was suffering great pain for the past few days and was losing a lot of weight. We thought she was getting better, but she was still shaking from pain and from the cold. before her death my mother comforted her, cleaned her up and fed her. Ellie managed to stop shaking, but her eyes opened and closed. mother put her in her cage but she died moments later. R.I.P Ellie, the greatest hamster in the world...we all miss you dearly..

There may not be a Xenosaga Ep. 4 however that doesn't mean it wont come out under a new name. Just cause this game was the end of the Xeno(saga) trilogy doesn't mean its the end of the Xeno series. Xenogears was episode 5 of the series. The next game in the series might have the title Xenogears, since it would have to take place on the same planet as the original Xenogears. It will most likely be about the events leading up to the original game, if it ever does come out.

@gorboy I'll explain 12 was sci-fi in the sense that they had all that crazy technology it was obvious they borrowed a lot from star wars.I consider 12 to be sci-fi cause of the level of technology in the game.
Now both 7 and 8 had a more modern feel to i, nothing truly futuristic,not that that's a problem i like that setting too. I wanted to like 7 and 8 i really did,but the combat was boring,and the characters annoyed me.The only character in 7 i like is the one everyone seems to hate. Yuffie.

@MasakanSolaris Can't stand 13 at all. Ick. My fav's will always be 4, 6, 7, 9. One of the main things that sucked about 13 (and I didn't even bother playing it. Just watched it all) is the fact that there are so many versions of classic enemies that look robotic... That and how the ending is just like a 7 rip off. Thats what you get when Sakaguchi and Uematsu aren't involved in their legacy.

I guess it does depend on the person, but I for one, don't believe there has been a real FF since 9. You mean to tell me you weren't absolutely disappointed when you got the airship in 10 and it was just a list of places and no flying? Come on... The voice acting in 13 and general story just irk me.

But you did get one thing right. It does depend on the person.I for one don't allow such insignificant trivialities ruin my gaming experience. If i like a game,I like a game. It's not that hard to comprehend.
Frankly Uematsu's music tends to bore me and if i hear one winged angel one more time I'm gonna throw up!
Hamauzu's sounds more interesting I'll say that.

You're probably not going to do this, but you should really go back and get 6 & 7 under your belt... Advent Children is probably the farewell of FF. The voice acting in that wasn't half bad and it's an epic cg achievement. You have seen that right?

and to tell you the truth advent children is what kinda cemented my hatred for FF7 or at least cloud,tifa and pretty boy longsword

@MasakanSolaris Touche... In the game Cloud lost his mind and I loved that! The whole shock being so great he had to be pushed around in a wheelchair. I suppose they did make him a bit emo. I also can't stand the OWA theme. I personally also found that 6 was the one that had the biggest impact on me as well, and had a far better score. It just sucked you in and whisked you away, and that never seemed to happen again. It almost did with 7, but not quite. Dunno what the future holds for FF...

@nejijuan1 Oh I loved Kingdom Hearts, but you have to remember that the first KH came out while it was still Squaresoft. When 2 came it was a disappointment for me in alot of ways. I don't have high hopes for 3 ever even being made.

@nejijuan1 I dunno about better graphics... It seemed like the graphics were stretched more vertically and squished inward horizontally like the old film Buckaroo Banzai... I can say this though... The music in both games is awesome!!!! All of the best epic games, with the exception of KH2 came out under Squaresoft... Xenogears, Vagrants story, tactics, FF 1- 9...

they should make episode IV. the game should be divided into two scenearios. one with jin(been healed by chaos), KOSMOS, and chaos trying to survive in the lost jerusalem. while shion and the others trying to find lost jerusalem, finding obstacles and battles along the way..........i know i may sound stupid but HEY!! i want episode IV SO BAD!!!
