A newby into digital imaging, just bought a gear and separately a 28/2.8 AFD Nikkor to start with : both 2nd hand in mint condition. A long way still to go to fully master it but I'm already fond of my D200,put aside the twin memory banks'
settings....I could find a good tutorials' support on the net though.
JB my D200 has been awesome as well. I am itching for an upgrade and the D300 may be next or the D700 a real digital tool. I was told by a NIKON guy the D200 is just fine and actually no need to upgrade. I may agree. But a boy needs his toys.
I use an older film lens Nikon 24mm-120mm 1:3.5-5.6 D and it covers most of the photography I do. My 300 2.8 comes in handy for sports and was amazing air shows with a 2x converter. Good luck with your shooting.
Had a second hand D200 for a couple of years now after changing from a Mamiya RB67 film camera due the demise of film, it is as with all the upper end Nikons built like a tank and is a pleasure to use I have a three lens set up a sigma 50-500, the nikor 18-200 VR and the best lens of the three the 35mm DX f1.8 it may be a bit long in the tooth compared to the latest digitals on the market but as I got the body for £550 it was a bargin,. Good post Jim, enjoy your picture taking
Really nice review and great camera. You're a real guy for sure. I'm making the change to a more pro DSLR (I still love my film, though) from a Nikon D60 and Canon Rebel. I love the Nikon feel, and am leaning heavily on a D200. I say, why spend twice as much on a D300 or more when I can get a fantastic piece of equipment like the D200 for around 500 to 600. Photography is 80% you and 20 % gear. Post some more about the D200 please!
Very nice video Sir, congratulations.,.

Hi there, enjoyed your review... is also my prized possession.
I use mine with the 17-55 DX lens and my trusted sb900 flash.

Some may say that it's an old camera, but I'd rather buy this than a new D90.

The D200 is a great DSLR. Very underrated.
Your images look pretty good on paper. What printer are you using?
