@bigbleach actually, youre wrong. danny does street trials, which is completely different. this guy is way more technical and advanced at traditional trials.
Yo! I'm a rookie, just learned hoppin' 'n small jumpz, stuff like that, but those sick drops R just SWEET! Keep on that good shit man, props fo ya! Respekt!
listen m8 if ur jsut starting trilas yea there is not much point u paying 500 plus for a bike ever spend like 30 tops on a new one or jsut look on ebay coz tht is stupid saying tht, trust me i have been riding 3 months now and i love it so im sure u will and yea, but personaliy i would say get a 20" bike they are amazing im riding one atm and i love it but do w/e u feel best on, and if one of ur friends have a bike and see how it feels to ride one coz its completely differnt to a bmx or mountain
You will have a subtle advantage but the "feel" is quite different and you will feel like you are starting from scratch. Not necessarily a bad thing:) I posted some more info above.
I rode a mountain and trials unicycle before getting a trials bike and I think it helped with overall balance and vision for judging gaps and ups. On a trials specific bike you should be able to get on the back wheel fairly quickly because it feels more like a unicycle than a regular bike, but the proper body position and technique for hoping on it is different (and more difficult) so you will have a hard time keeping it balanced there.
Do you ride any type of bike currently? If yes then you should practice balancing in place on it without moving. If that can maintain your interest for a full hour then you might like trials. Otherwise probably not. If you have a mountain bike you can probably learn well enough on that for the first year before a trials specific bike would really be any better. It takes years to be able to do what you see in this video, to reach that point you have to enjoy the fundamentals.
You guys should tour! Set up your own obstacles such as ramps and railings, and hit the road. Those jumps are truly amazing! I've got to say I've never seen anything like that before!
