  • Beautifully done, friend.

  • So james is his real name... and logan is the first man hi killed! he just barrowed the name logan..nice! now i get it! tnx for this!

  • @sharkylovelotty u do know logan is his real father

  • Oh my, I must go and buy the comic book now! Very well crafted, good work! ;)

  • Wolverine is my favorite hero.. or shall i say anti hero? ;)

  • Comment removed

  • The comic that made me hate Wolverine.

  • Can someone PLEASE explain this plot to me? It's not that I can't understand the video, it's just that i can't grasp what's happening. Who is who? Why are these things happening?

  • No wonder why Wolverine loves Jean Grey so bad. Its because Jean Grey kinda remind him of Rose.

  • I just have one thing in my mind... did you missed that image when Mistress Elizabeth is dressing up and you can see the scars of claws on her back? or... i just blinked my eyes :)

  • I love it... what can i say? as a comicbook fan... well i have not words. Just Beautiful.

  • I think I have this as a graphic novel...Great piece of art, and you did a great job with the video. Kudos.

  • i read the book at Barnes & Noble. I saw logan's grandfather.

  • I like alot this history about wolverine

  • ..maybe i'm not getting enough of the story...but, it seems disjointed..whoops...sorry...i guess i neve read the book..

  • ..maybe i'm not getting enough of the story...but, it seems disjointed..

  • @boocho1 Read The Book , dumbass ! The Graphic Novel`s WAY TOO comprehensive and complex to cover in TWO Videos !

  • @1993MovieMan thanks, i think you've covered that....but, good job, anyway...

  • this was delightful. thanks.

  • wolverines origin is scary and terrible

  • Great origin story

  • elfadelvento > x-men:origins wolverine

  • i think i know why wolverine love jean maybe cuz when he saw jean it reminded him of rose maybe i am not sure

  • I've red this. Don't know what to said it's make me understand logan more a little. Still I saw a lot of hero"background" movie and comic. And truly it was nice than the orginal comic.

  • one of the best comics in the history, that's why wolverine is the #1 of all the heroes in the world

  • Please answer this for me someone! Who was Rose?

  • @smildonfatalis1 as far as i can tell she's some irish girl who came to work for the howlett family.

  • @theAngryscotman ok thanks :)

  • @smildonfatalis1 no problem. :)

  • @theAngryscotman hey is ur name for utube based off of Drew Mcintyre?

  • @smildonfatalis1 nope. i chose that name because i was gonna do reviews of really crappy movies and get really pissed off at them.

  • @smildonfatalis1 Rose is the girl who is telling the story. She was James' friend that his father "bought" for him because he was always so sick as a boy and she takes care of him and teaches him things. Her family died as a result of the flu at the turn of the century.

  • @smildonfatalis1 I was really disappointed to see that she was abscent from the Origin film. One of the things that makes the story so great, is the point of view from which it is told and the fact that Rose is obviously his strongest female influence and a strong character herself.

  • anyone know how much the comic are worth??

  • i thought dog was going to be wolverine becuause he in the logan family

  • explains why's obsessed with stupid jean...it's the red hair.

    hate her.

excellent summary of the origins comic!

  • wolverine got his claws by someone pumping adimantium in hees blood

  • no u are a reatard winky7575 he got them when when his parents were killed

  • that was the first claws that the brother broke off. but i was talking about the adimantium claws he got later.

  • sorry dude

  • no he always had claws there were bone

  • @jinson12345 Not really, the bone claws are a child of the 90ies. In the earlier stories Logan had only his adamantium claws. There are some stories of Wolverine before the weapon-x experiment, and he got no claws. Logan's only mutant powers were his healing ability and his super-human senses.

  • W9EoUb4wGbE be strong

  • Well done!

It's been absolutely ages since I read origins, but there's something I still don't understand. Why would Wolverine take on the name of the man who killed his father?

  • If I remember correctly he didn't. Rose called him that when Smitty asked his name.

  • True. It was the scene when she said he can work anything and Smitty asked for a name. Rose made it up.

  • which one is this

  • its funny how i enjoyed ur movie wayyyy more than i did that piece of shit they released in may...hugh jackman is awesome...but the movie sucked...totally ruined an iconic character...

  • I'm not going to comment on the story or the artwork, I'm not going to go all comicbook geek or fangirl over this--

I wanted to say that I appreciate the work and dedication that went into stringing the cinematic together- the timing was excellent, the choice of music was excellent, and even though I have a vague memory of the comic, I was able to follow along with ease.

Frankly, this was beautifully crafted. Thank you for your efforts.

  • Thanks to you because you appreciated it! =)

  • @elfadelvento can u check out my wolverine video. and tell me wat u think?

  • @KeannaRoar

Truly amazing! I hope someone use this to fix that movie to Wolverine Oringins in his second part!

  • @KeannaRoar

please do go all fangirl on this!

  • @KeannaRoar i don't comprehend are you saying it was good though you remember it bad hmmmmmmmmmmmmm i think

  • haha at first, when i read the first part, i thought that it was Dog who were to become wolverine XD, but then it changed :O, i mean it seemed like dog was the main character in part 1 :P

  • yeah I liked the swerve.

  • I thought the origins movie was okay. But it seemed kind of inconsistant with the story as I recall it. There was the absence of Rose, for example. I was disapointed in the film over all. I thought the ps3 game was actually better then the film.

  • they didn't use this as a reference if they did they used a silver. where he killed his mother thats it after that nothing is from this book.Actually killing his mother is the only reference.

  • his mother killed herself

    he killed Tom Logan

  • can someone please tell me what happens to wolverine after the end of the origins movie ... after he has lost his memory. What happens next?

  • the movie and this is not the same. They are different entities and story plots. So no one besides fox can tell you what happens after the Wolverine origin movie since they didn't use any comic reference. Besides he got the adiamantium claws from weapon X experament.

  • this is my favorite book. What a great story and wonderful artwork.

  • wolverine and sabertooth arent brothers the movie was bs about that. wolverines brother is john howlett III aka white ghost he has the same powers as james minus the adamantium skeleton

  • thats pretty cool the music went pretty well with it too.

  • where can i get a copy of this

  • Sabertooth and Wolverine are stepbrothers they share da same dad but different moms just watch da Origins movie itll be understandable

  • that means they're half brothers

  • hey man do u kno a site where i can the entire origin series?

  • great

  • ive heard that his original name was james howlett he had a dog named logan his dad killed it one day some people broke into his house killed his parents he killed them changed used the name logan trained as a samarai ninja soldier and got the metal in his bones and was an assasian is that true?

  • very true he just cnt remember it

  • i bought this book and read it a thought it was amazing, especially the pictures, and the story line is all right. GO WOLVERINE XXX

  • @Charmedpaigematthews

where can i find the book?

  • oh wow

  • Supposedly sabertooth killed his mother with a gun then logan came into the room seeing his father with a gun then logan killed him. then him and sabertooth ran away for ever

  • Did wolverine kill a dog?

  • That's not Wolverine. The other boy is Wolverine. It was his puppy that got killed there.

  • no, that guy that killed the dog was thomas logan the guy who killed wolverine's father

  • sooooo, his last name is logan? if it is then what is his first name?

  • his last name isnt logan his full name is James howlett he just changed his name so no one kud find him

  • oh thanx

  • just like the movie.but this is very nicely done.exelent job

  • This is beautiful!!!! love the music with the pic's! wonderful story telling.

  • I love it! I don't entirely get it but i love it!

  • ddddd

  • good stuff.....

  • Why does Wolverine don't like Sabertooth ?

  • its his brother. They dont get along, sabretooth is just pure bred hatred.

  • Actually, contrary to what most people think- he is not related by blood to wolverine in any way. Let me guess- you watched the new movie right? I could nit-pick at everything wrong with that movie for hours if I wanted to.

  • Havent seen the new film. Watched the cartoon extensively when I was little and read some of the comics.

  • actually they are brothers in the comic, although they never acknowledge each other as bros-Dog is sabretooth who is son of Thomas logan, he is the groundskeeper who is really the father of the howlett children, Mrs.howlett was cheating on Jon howlett with logan all along..when thomas logan killed john howlett and james(wolverine) killed logan, mrs.howlett killed herself and rose & james took off, wolverines healing factor made him lose his memory due 2 trauma

  • Yes, I already know all that- but you are still wrong, dog is not victor creed. They are not brothers. Look it up- its also been rumored that sabretooth was his father but that clearly not true.

  • just because dogs name isnt victor creed doesnt mean he isnt sabretooth...in the origins comic dog gradually starts 2 look and act more and more like sabretooth, they are blood brothers, read wolverine origins on wikipedia it will say exactly what i have..it is unknown where the name victor creed came from, but for the longest time wolverines name was logan, not james howlett, and sabretooth and wolverine have 2 have a backround, it would b only obvious/senseable that he is DOG

  • you can't really trust wikipedia all that much, it can be changed so easily.

  • they have yet to write it, the characters only look the same, that wasn't the true intention, however, the writer has said that if another writer, you know what, just read my other comments.

  • and it has also been confirmed in another comic that sabretooth has a flashback of being tortured and abused by his father which is also what happened to dog in origins

  • ok, first off, dog just looks like victor, the writer never intended for them to be the same, however, he did say that if another writer wanted to do that, he gave his blessing, which is kinda what they did in the new movie. however, there may one day be proof that they are brothers. x-23, james's clone, was made of xme, then written into the comics, as was abigail for blade.

  • if sabertooth has the exact same powers as wolverine, then how come he remembers their past and james doesn't?

  • sabretooth doesnt remember his past him and wolverine were given fasle memories, and + sabretooth grew up more evil and twisted i would think it would be harder for some1 like that 2 become traumatized

  • dog was Victors nickname when he was young

  • Sabretooth and Wolverine are in no way brothers in the comic book. I have read the Origin mini-series and Wolverine #50-55 with Sabretooth's death and it establishes no blood relations between the two.

  • brothers who ran away from parents when child they then sign up for this like elite unit. sabertoooth start killing "innocent" people and wolverine quit then sabortooth hunt down every member of this group only wolverine servive and then rivalry stays.

  • Thats in the movies, Originally Dog wasnt Supposed to be Sabretooth

  • Wasn't Creed more like the Yin to Wolverine's Yang? At least that's what I gathered from the Romulus story.

  • great! just a few more explanatory notes would make it excellent. i read the story. a movie based just on this would have been awesome. followed by the japanese saga, then end with the weapon x program. 3 great wolvie movies, and it would stay true to the source, mostly.

  • 6:27 why the hell theirs always a tree place a the right spot. Geez I wish a was a tree only for having all the strip just for me (lol sorry just kidding XD)

  • man rose is beautifule

  • i mean beautiful

  • can anyone tell me where i can download this comic in PDF format??

  • Okay, so i'm not very well informed about Wolverine's story...but were his claws actually bones before they tested on him? I would watch the movie but of course i'm guessing that it won't explain much. Lol.

  • yes they were bone originally and still are,but the weapon X program infused his bones with adamantium, which is why he has adamantium claws.

  • im not ttrying to be mean, but one clue is all his BONES turn to adamantium

  • Sweet....you used one of the Ghost Rider Soundtrack songs for the video. Well done.

  • i dont get it wat happened

  • its better than the movie

  • dude logans real name is james howlett

his older brother was john jr howlett

all though rose was logans first love he got the name from the gardeners son "dog logan" later you find out Dog Logan is still alive though...... just more twist and turns

  • I think that brother of his was just a noncanon one not sure

  • The gardener was actually his father, due to him messing around with his mom, they even look the same hah. Dog is his half brother, they cut dog out of the movie completely and made sabertooth his halfbrother.

  • Why did Thomas kill the Master?

Why did James Logan slash Dog?

How did Thomas Logan die?? didn't he have healing power?

How did James Howlett get the name Logan?

Where can I get the book, so I wont be asking a lot of damn questions jajaja

  • heh.... I second this comment.

  • "Two Years Later..."

Did Dog and Rose have feelings between each other? Or it was between James and Rose?Who is the guy that kill the dog? What happened in that part? who were the two guys fighting?

    "But one terrible night..."

Who is the guy with the shotgun?? Who got shot first? did Thomas Logan kill the Master?

Is the guy who mutated first Logan???

Who is the guy that got slash in the face?? How did it happen?

    Who committed suicide?

How Thomas Logan die? did he have the same healing powers?

  • does anyone know where i can read this comic free online?

  • Hugh and Liev are borthers. wolverine got shot in the head losing all his memories but never the memories to talk, listening, poop, sneeze and drink alcohol to help him remember! The end!

  • this was pretty cool. but i dont quite understand why he was killing all those ppl. but i guess u hav to read the boo to understand.

  • When he was young?

To put it briefly and with no spoilers (for if you want to read the book)

His father was murdered so he killed the guy who shot his dad with the shotgun, slashing the guy's son, Dog, across the face with his claws, thus scarring him for life, and then Wolverine's mother in her grief shot herself while Wolverine (James Howlett) and his childhood companion Rose ranaway, leaving a hurt Dog behind who said Wolverine had killed them all.

Hope that doesn't give too much away

  • "dude good job on this.i felt as if i was reading the comic again" I'm going to have to agree.

  • im confussed y logan killing all those peoples

  • dude good job on this.i felt as if i was reading the comic again

  • i love this book ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • epic. I like. And wasn't Logan the Master's son?? James Howlett? I didn't think Logan and Dog were brothers. Dog was Logan's son.

  • By Logan's son I mean the gardener logan.

  • No. When Mistress Elizabeth hugs the dying Logan it is revealed that James is THEIR son, also because Logan the gardener looks exactly like the adult Logan-Wolverine. So Dog and James are half-brothers. And Dog IS NOT Sabretooth.

  • but who is Rose? Wolverine's sister or something?

  • Shes a Playmate of James Howlett

  • Everyone thought Logan (James Howlett, Wolverine) was the Master (John Howlett, Jr)'s son but it turns out his mother, Elizabeth had an affair with the gardener Thomas Logan (twice actually, Wolverine had an older brother by Thomas & his mother, John Howlett III who died mysteriously years before James (Wolverine) was born who had the same mutant ability (noteably the claws). Thomas Logan had a son called Dog in which would make Wolverine and Dog half-brothers since they share the same father.

  • wait but here is where my confusion emerges... Dog.. who shares many of the same qualities as sabertooth.... is he sabertooth??????

  • No, he is not Sabertooth. Dog and Sabertooth are totally different characters though in the Origin movie, they change/mix things around so now Sabertooth takes the place of Dog so he and Wolverine are half-brothers. (hence confusion)

But to the comics (which is the official stance) Dog and Sabertooth are NOT the same, though they do have similar traits. In the original planning of the comic they said "Similarly, Dog was to be a representation of Sabretooth, Wolverine's greatest nemesis."

  • dude can you tell me in which vol they tell this story because. i started to read vol. 1 , and is another story about wolverine with a sword fighting captain america

  • @ GuillyGuiledDragon its never been proven or discredited the idea that dog is sabertooth, its been implied they are the same because of the same characterists sabortooth and logan share and the fact that sabortooth much like dog cames back to mess with logan. Its fun how dog drops out of the story and victor creed shows up.... nothing is officailly same

  • I never said Dog was Sabertooth. I simply said that Dog and Sabertooth were similar (Not saying they were different or same). But the Origin writers says different. "Paul Jenkins wanted certain characters, artwise and relationship-wise, to resonate with those knowledgeable about Wolverine's character history. Similarly, Dog was to be a representation of Sabretooth, Wolverine's greatest nemesis." Jenkins says, "In my mind, Dog is not intended to be Sabretooth, but he could be. It doesnt matter."

  • the origin writer also kinda left it up in the air for someone else to make that connection. at some point, before origin, it was supposedly determined that there was no relation between creed and logan. i think shield did some type of blood test or something.

  • Also, wasn't Sabretooth's nickname when he was a child "Dog"? I'm just guessing here, but i heard something like that somewhere

  • something like that, man this comic/novel is awesome

  • i think Wolverine had some unevolved mutant powers in the past like the sense of smell and those bone claws that burst out of his hands and a possible accelerated regeneration, and the experiments on him made him indistructible and accentuated his regeneration... thats what i think

  • need some clearing up... is the character they're revealing as james howlett's brother supposed to be dog?

  • not brother, dog is the son of the gardener.

    Logan is the garderner.

James (wolverine) is the son of the master of the masnion.

When Logan killed his father, James and Rose ran away, where James took Logans name.

  • i understand the comic book standpoint on it, but from the trailers i've seen they try to reveal Logan the gardner as james' biological father which would in turn make dog his brother. go to the official website for the new movie and watch the trailer named brothers. it's pretty confusing for anyone who is familiar with the comic book.

  • Don't know why but this video reminds me of Peter and the Wolf. Great vid, awesome comic, can't wait for the movie (eep, day before my b-day)

  • ok, i thought even in the comics, Wolverine's claws were only part of the experiment, and that the atucally real mutant power he had was his ability to heal faster and everything, could someone clear me that please? thx for the answer!

  • he always had claws but the expirment covered the bone claws with titanium

  • actually, its adamantium . its an alloy.

  • yes ol' Wolvi has always have claws

  • What music at 2:06?

  • im confused:(

  • ditto that - can't tell who's who and why what..

  • i read this book it was really good. im guessing that the "army" captured wolverine later on, did some experiments and made his blades into metal instead of wood like they are now...

  • bone not wood .....

  • yea srry ur right

  • they should make an animated movie out of this!

  • origin had alot of gaps

  • I only hope the new movie is as good as the book !

  • Wolverine is like a legeand

  • u mean legend*?

  • hah, a legeand,

  • wait woah I'm confused very confused

  • You'll understand everyting when you see X-Men Origins:Wolverine.

  • never rely on the movie to explain the comics, they dont have a really good record as far as accuracy goes.

  • I know.

  • But I mean how they will create the origin on the big screen.

  • Exactly!! Why is Gambit, the Blob, Barnell and Emma Frost in the movie if the setting is 15 years before the first X-Men film? Shouldn't they be preteens, toddlers, or not even born yet? What do they have to do with Weapon X? And Barnell's powers are completely different than the mainstream continuity of the comics! And somebody please tell me why Sabretooth's hair isn't blond like it is in the comics and the first X-Men film? Thanks Hollywood for distorting accuracy as much as possible!

  • Also, if the can make Storm eyes glow white in the film, why can they give Sabretooth Amber eyes. I understand that every single thing doesn't have to be contingent with the comic, but if much can be done without seriously going over the budget, then do it! Fan's and moviegoers will appreciate it more!

  • well if they put accuracy the movie will prob be rated R but holywood dosent want that cause then it will be to a more narrow audience and trust me i would love to see it detail for detail exact but ist not going to happen

  • They could at least put some of the superficial stuff in there.

  • I was very confused in the beginning..someone please enlighten me?

  • I like Wolverine what I don't like is all the X-men movies focused so much on him. And WTF happen to Cyclops in all the movies.
