  • Bach or Krebs ... yes, credit for authorship does matter; notwithstanding, over two centuries ago, the soul of a man named Johann labored and gave birth to a flurry of notes that amount to a majestic musical fireworks display. I visit this brilliant compact composition - played at ear-splitting volume - when my own soul is near a summit and needs a push to crest or when it crashes and needs a hug. BWV556 is the prescription for both. Thomasssup, to me, your performance is FLAWLESS! Thanks!

  • what is your name? this is great but a bit to fast slow it doen a bit

  • @lukefarmer2008 - I agree somewhat. A great performance, but slightly slower would have helped that majestic feel of that pedal line. I feel that too many performances (not this one though) are done today too quickly with the intention of showing off one's ability to play Bach, but I feel that a lot of expressiveness that Bach has can be lost by rushing through pieces.

  • littel bit to slow on some moments!

  • littel bit too many spelling mistakes to complain about something that pointless.

    Great performance.

  • Despite his spelling, praisethelord333 does make a point.

The performance is ok, but at some moments you can hear he has technical difficulties.

  • Sempre più bello... ogni volta che ascolto quest'organo mi fa davvero un buon effetto!

  • Przepraszam jak duże są te organy? pozdrawiam

  • This is smashing, man. What church is this in, and where?

  • You know, its such a shame that J.T. Krebs, not J.S. Bach, is the actual author of the "Eight Little Preludes and Fugues"

  • but its still in the BWV

  • and why is that?? that always puzzled me, maybe bach worked with him on these and composed them together, or just maybe JT krebs wote while bach played?

  • Some would say that these notes were just found among Bach's notes and therefore credited to him without further investigation.

The truth? Nobody can recollect that. They remain what they are: wonderful little pieces of music.

  • @AnotherLive - There is a lot of uncertainty with the provenance of some music. Most of Bach's music was not published until after his death. There are various estimates, but it is believed that hundreds of the pieces he wrote in his lifetime (quite sadly) no longer survive. A lot of music in his posession may have also been copies of other people's work or adaptions for organ. Sadly, we will never know for sure.

  • And tell me, do you have any proof to back up your claim?

  • good performance. yeh, i really don't think bach wrote this. if he did, he was having an off-day. it just doesn't have that baroque bounce like bach's music does.

    and get those reeds tuned!

  • It's quite sure that this prelude isnt from bach. The prelude is written by his students!

  • Mój ulubiony utwór bacha, naprawde wspaniale wykonany. Gratuluję

  • This is Bach i have the music for it. Anything that is bwv is Bach Werke Verzeichnis

  • well now that ive looked into this. there is no for sure answer unless you were around when this musician wrote the piece

  • Bach or no Bach... I love this performance! Bravo!

  • You detest the piece because it's not Bach?

  • flawlessly played - not the best bit of bach in the world though ;)

  • Well played, but I *detest* this piece. It's so blatantly not Bach.

  • Wow, the sound of that organ is really good. Nicely played.

  • mice playing! i'm learning the fugue for this one (I already know the prelude) i'll post it up at some point

  • good

  • bravo vedo che Bach piace anche a te!

  • bravo! ma anche il cameraman vuole la sua parte ;)
