I was 8 when this happened, I had never seen my parents scared of anything til this, this was the last hurricane to hit us til today with hurrincane irene, and thats why i searched for this video, 13 years its been 9/21/98
I was 13 and I remember that day like if it was yesterday. No power 3 weeks going to the mountain get water. But we had are fun days after it pass. Memories will last a lifetime..
Why do people have the need to reveal their age when talking about this hurricane . I have read post here that write about (when I was 3 years old,or 1 years old and remember this Hurricane) people, you guys were to young to even know what was going on,so please stop lying.Specially the post from 20 Mako How the hell can you remember when you were one years old and say you saw the palm trees moving. Dude you don't even remember crapping on your pampers at that age.Anyway, nice video.
I have a much deeper respect for hurricanes because of hurricane George in 1998. At 6 AM on September 21st 1998 i was dry. At 7 AM i was wet. Much thanks for the home make-over georgy boy
I remember that hurricane like it was yesterday. I lived in Ponce and that hurricane took forever to pass through the island, we lost power and water for like 2 weeks. It was horrible and the winds OMG nasty!
I remember this like yerterday, i was 8 at the time. This hurricane changed PR because of Federal help like FEMA. Suddenly every one that was ''poor'' had money.
biggibotty is AN IDIOT THAT COMMENT MEANS THAT HE CAME FROM ST CROIX NOT FROM PUERTO RICO!!!! .WE KNOW PUERTO RICO IS THE U.S.A. TOO!!! IDIOT GOD BLESS AMERICA AND OF COURSE PUERTO RICO TOO!!!!
My poor island! That freakin monster went just through it! It made so much damage. We were so many days or even weeks without electricity. But those freakin bastards were asking if P.R would weaken the hurricane like if they were hoping that we would get all the damage so it wouldn't strike so bad the USA. assholes!
I was in P.R when this happe, we went through 12 hours of hell. I remember it started at about 7 the night before (the winds picking up) till about 8 o'clock next morning. My Bother in law my sister and I drank Rum all nigt nothing else to do lol,and just ride the fucker up.
This storm was worst than Charley because it killed more people even though its was a weaker. Each hurricane and tropical storm is different, each storm brings its own characteristics but can kill thousands.
And believe me, the people of St. Croix been through quite a few hurricanes, Hugo of 89 was horrible, nearly stationary in the night winds gusting over 200 mph with a few tornadoes and that part lasted several hours, not minutes, while the storm itself was about 24 hours.
