a small correction on blackra1n. it does not install 3.1.2. in order for blackra1n to work your iphone needs to already be on firmware 3.1.2. then you run blackra1n and it will be jailbroken. if it gets hung up on the usb screen try disabling apples bonjour service and try the process again. do not update to 3.1.2 if you rely on having your iphone unlocked and use tmobile. 3.1.2 updates the baseband which is currently not unlockable using ultrasn0w or anything else. AFAIK. always backup first
