It was pretty tedious as the wiring came from three different vehicles. The engine harness was 04 350z, the dash harness was 04 G35 and the engine sub harness was from a Quest. It took some time to get everything pinned out correctly. Then there's all the specific things like sensors, programming keys, etc.
I built the motor. Got if out of a quest van that had hydrolocked. We put the Z pistons in, replaced the bearings and that bent rod and basically rebuilt the whole thing. Changed the manifolds (i had to custom make the exhaust manifolds), and wired in the stock Z ecm, BCM and NATS systems. You can find a VQ from a FWD vehicle for about $500 and convert it to RWD or buy one from a Z for about $1200. Hopefully you have seen the video of this on the street.
Thanks for the support everyone! I dont get to work on this car much, about 3 times a month so its going slow. Once I get a video of it on the street, I'll post it, and by that time, my high compression Z motor will be in my S13 coupe. Video of that soon too! Again, thanks for the support!
It should be on the streets very soon. Maybe within 3 weeks. Just have to finish up the exhaust, install the nismo fuel pressure reg, and install the dakota digital speedo converter. After that, my motor goes in my coupe....12:1 Vq35 motor. :)
damn dude i love u.hahaha but really dude im following this build closely.
