@shirleystemple yeah. I mean, I have other things to keep me sane, I can practice other fighting styles, but there's a vast difference between practicing rapier combat and practicing Capoeira.

I think maculele would be a bit more like rapier combat.

Do you have any berimbaus? I think one should concentrate a lot of focus on getting good with the instruments, it's an uncommon regimen of practicing a musical instrument and simultaneously polishing one's fighting skills. And, when you get together with other capoeiristas, it is more important to be able to play in the batteria than it is to match up in front of it.

Unfortunatly I do not have any berimbaus and I don't think there any places where I could get them here, since most people where I live haven't even heard of Capoeira. I might take a look around the next time I'm in the Twin Cities and see if I can find some there. The musical element is one of the reasons Capoeira intrigues me so much actually.

You can buy a berimbau online for about $70, or even craft one yourself.

There is a mestre in my area, but we don't really like each other - anyway, he focuses on Regional, and I on Angola.
