The policies of "blow-me, darlin'" Clinton and the Democratic Congress were the foundation of the financial meltdown, and politicians on the take--read "Obama"--propagated these idiotic policies in the face of a Republican Congressional minority screaming for oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (they were labeled "racists" by Obama and his cronies)...

Black History in White America may not mean anything to some of you, but BELIEVE IT OR NOT, there use to be a thing called JIM CROW LAWS which basically was APARTHIED in America. Many Babyboomers (like Michelle) experienced these dark times in America first hand. So her seemingly non patriotic words is perfectly understandable when heard by those in the rational/educated community.

Who whether or not she grew up in the hard times it doesn't matter...she could still be proud to live in her country, because of the wealth, and success and the freedom she has had since the late sixties when she was 7-8 years old? If any adult is saying in their adult years that they are only now proud of their country, then they don't deserve the freedom, and oporrotunity America brings. There are millions who want in, so we'll gladly let her out if she isn't proud of America...

What you and oddly enough, a few blacks and minority immigrants don't get is that the people WE thank for OUR freedoms and opportunities in America are the people who fought and especially the people who died during the Civil Rights Movement. The Malcolm X's, the Medger Evers, the Martin Luther Kings, The Jesse Jacksons, The Goodmans, Schwerners, and Chaineys. These people paved the way for Barack Obama and this is what Michelle is talking about.

"The truth of the matter is German POW's were treated with more respect by the US Army than the Black American Soldiers who fought against them." Sad, but true. People need to grow up and educate themselves NOW. Neither Obama or McCain are going to save this country from where its heading. We are heading for another great depression in which neither candidate has effective plans to stop it. Obama's plans are logical, but they are identical to the plans that FDR implemented in his "New Deal". This plan is what sank the US ecomomy from a recession to the great depression. McCains is no better. We need a new candidate that can understand this
