  • I had sutures in my arterial line and didnt notice because I was that ill. Isnt sutures better because then the line cant get pulled out? What would you use instead of sutures, just a dressing? Just curious.

I also had a central line that was sewn into my neck.

Thanks for the video though, It was very interesting.

  • I guess I can overlook the use of the seldinger technique considering this vid is over 3 yrs old but the use of sutures......NO! Either the resident learned this from a stubborn old doc or the stubborn old doc did this, get with the freakin times

  • why sutures???

    this is totally inhuman!!!!!

  • why sutures???

  • @plakplaatje: real-time blood pressure.

  • I see, thanks

  • love the music!

  • sloppy "sterile" dressing compared to what we do at my facility. but everywhere is different. cool catheter though. we use arrows

  • *PUKES*

  • Seldinger (not sledinger)

  • ouch this is bringing back memories eeeek

  • OUCH!!!!

  • Too much trouble for such an easy task! Three wounds, larger damage by dilating the artery, blood loss, cost of that devise :-(

    Tsk tsk tsk ;-[

Unless u want to perform angio(graphy-plasty) through the radial (lol)

  • OUCH, but a great video

  • music too distracting.

  • Careful not to give arterial local anaesthetic! (Lignocaine?).

  • yes Lidocaine (Xylocaine), and true.. it is verrry dangerous, must be very careful when numbing the area, the pt might lose his arm if the anesthetic goes in the artery. :)

  • excellent clinical audio and video lecture
