I had sutures in my arterial line and didnt notice because I was that ill. Isnt sutures better because then the line cant get pulled out? What would you use instead of sutures, just a dressing? Just curious.
I also had a central line that was sewn into my neck.

I guess I can overlook the use of the seldinger technique considering this vid is over 3 yrs old but the use of sutures......NO! Either the resident learned this from a stubborn old doc or the stubborn old doc did this, get with the freakin times
yes Lidocaine (Xylocaine), and true.. it is verrry dangerous, must be very careful when numbing the area, the pt might lose his arm if the anesthetic goes in the artery. :)

sloppy "sterile" dressing compared to what we do at my facility. but everywhere is different. cool catheter though. we use arrows
