  • you should get a twEECer or moates qh tune to fix the bucking problem

  • @FoxBodyMike87 I really don't think a tweecer, pms, abco meter, etc... is going to fix the low rpm buck with a cam this big. With the 4.56 gear its never really below 2500 rpm anyway so the buck has never been an issue.

  • that thing goes pretty friggen good for a 306

  • @FoxBodyMike87 Thanks! It's been a fun little motor.

  • u got a hard time believing its a 306... whats the specs on the cam?

  • @foxrod90 I've heard that a time or two before. Anderson cams are technically a custom grind but since you can search the spec's I don't feel too bad posting up. Advertise Duration .006 307/315* Duration @ .050 240/248*. Gross valve lift w 1.6 rocker .576/576". LSA 110* ICL 105*.

  • @vibrant93 i plan on doing the same build. can u message me a list of everything on the motor?

  • @foxrod90 It's really nothing all that crazy. It's a stock shortblock with a set of Ross dome pistons. Compression with a 56cc head was right around 12.5:1. Heads are ported street heats and it had a victor efi intake on it.

  • @vibrant93 does it have a main girdle or anything to strengthen stock block? always heard stock 302 blocks wont withstand 7k rpm.

  • @foxrod90 No it doesn't have a girdle. I think the combination of too much power and not the right tune then a stock block is in danger up at the 7k mark. With less than 400rwhp and not pounding on the car daily I feel as that goes a long way. I've been on this shortblock for many years now and it's never skipped a beat.

  • I believe I hear a gear drive.

  • is that the gearbox that is whining, or a supercharger? sounds like heavy duty gears to me.

  • @ilovegoatsecks Description says all motor, so it's NA. I'm thinking gear drive.

  • @ilovegoatsecks You were correct, it's the transmission. It's a pro-shifted T-5 trans which has straight cut gears. A lot of people do mistake the sound for a supercharger though.

  • SOrry for the lack of information... For a roller setup with this part number on ebay: 200673622334 as my head choice... Sorry youtube wouldnt let me post the link

  • @stangredemption Will the cam be a custom grind or are you buying something "off the shelf?"

  • @vibrant93 Not gonna lie probably off the shelf.. a small one on purpose... 512/512 lift, 260 duration or maybe IF possible on stock pistons on my 94 351w... I may do like a F cam or X

  • @stangredemption There's nothing wrong with off the shelf, heck I've run both the E and F cam's in the past. Just wondering why you'd want a sping good to 8k or more rpm then? You wont need something that aggressive.

  • @vibrant93 Because while racing the newer stangs that spin around 7-8, I shift before they shift so they hit power band last everytime and I lose..... If the car I race is a good fast one. I mean I raced a couple stock 99-02 stangs and not that impressive ... Not hatin on those at all but I know I need to upgrade. If corvette can spin 9 then I can too on a budget although I may barely see 8 or 9, I wanna have it available because im not basing off of redline, im basing of cam's powerband

  • @stangredemption It's going to take a pretty stout cam and a ton of good valvetrain parts to spin a pushrod motor up into the 8k rpm range. Especially if you intend to stay hydraulic roller cammed. If you want to go past 8k count on a lot of titanium, including intake valves. My new motor is going to be spun to right around 8k and I'm finding out that it's going to cost some coin to do so!

  • @vibrant93 GOod thing we have the torque.. we gotta choice LOL. Stay lower revving with low for the low end which makes us shift sooner or have ours high revving for that top end hp and shift much later Let me know the price outcome when you do lol

  • I here a very expensive transmission made for f1 cars or you have a bad ass gear drive

  • @stangredemption It's just a straight cut gear G-Force T-5. They are loud.

  • @vibrant93 So that's what a g-force tranny sounds like LOL NICE. and I heard they are unbreakable(What I heard).... Good stuff though.

  • @stangredemption G-Force is the name of the company. They build transmissions and the t-5 is one that they specialize in. I bought it direct from them. They put their gear cluster in it, a better main shaft, and the dog ring style syncros. Unbreakable? Eveything can be broke including this tranny. I broke the 3rd gear dog ring in it the 3rd year I had it in the car. It happend on the street too, not the track where one would think it'd break.

  • @vibrant93 wOW... hEY QUESTION CAN YOU POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. i AM TRYING TO GET SOME VALVE SPRINGS THAT WILL ALLOW AROUND 8000 OR MORE.. cAN YOU HOOK A BROTHA UP WITH A SITE TO at least snag a set of allowable springs?... SOrry for the caps, to much to delete and start over HAHA

  • @stangredemption For a solid roller or hydraulic roller?

  • Sick!!

  • How are you guys putting together 306 n/a combos that go over 120 mph?

  • @gtdrummerdude Compression, good airflow, and lots of rpm.

  • Nice Video and Sound

  • @Jamal1053 Thank you!

  • Badass car man! Check out my page. I'm also on anderson's site under customer cars, n/a. Love your LX!

  • how much easier is it to shift / powershift compared to a stock tranny?

  • @turfguy87 I guess I'd put it this way. In the 4 years that I've had the tranny the only missed shift I've had is when it broke the 3rd gear dog ring. It shifts like butter when you are on the gas. Daily driving is a different story. Double clutching up shifts and rpm matching for the down shifts.

  • @vibrant93 straight up you need to post more videos :-)

  • love the sound of straight cut gears, sounds like an old m22 rock crusher tranny.

  • thats some damn fine shifting.......

  • @turfguy87 Thanks!

  • what about the heads and intake???

  • what trans are you running? g-force? is it proshifted?

  • @biminifox Yes it's their (G-Force) dog ring, straight cut gear box. It also has the good main shaft in it. I've had it in the car for 4 years now and it's been good to me.

  • @vibrant93 wats the gear box really do?

  • @fourwheelerjock Not sure what you are asking.

  • @vibrant93 like the gear box in the trans wat do aftermarket ones do tht stock 1s dont do other than stregnth??

  • -mac shorty headers -bbk offroad h pipe 40 series flows with new lx tips -sn95 5lug set up (4 way disk brakes. new pads) -355 gears -blk chrome lip bullit rims -tubular a ams -eibach lowering springs -koni struts -caster camber plates -b&m shorty shifter -high volume oil pump -high volume fuel pump
  • @vibrant93 what mpg can I expect out of a chp notch with all this -bore 306 motor ( 16k miles on rebuilt motor) motor has forged internals -rebuilt heads bigger valves -1.7 crane cams roller rockers harden push rods and lifters -e303 cam -new double roller timing chain -all new bearings rings and gaskets -typhoon intake -k&n fenderwell intake -king cobra clutch new flywheel throwout bearing and pilot bearing -msd cap and rotor -ford racing sp wires -newpower steering pump. -new ba
  • man you give it to that thing and it wants more

  • @Five0boy I know and that's the scary part being it's still on a stock block. I honestly cant believe this little 306 has had no issues over the last 6 years I've had it.

  • @vibrant93 my buddy has a stock 302 and his beastmodes every gear and will burry a 140 speedo.

  • @ghettosmirnoff That was about the most mullet-e comment ive read all day

  • @ThreePointThree i would say something right about now but i dont remember posting that comment. i dont have one friend with a stock 5.0 and the only 5.0 i have been in that burried a 140 speedo only had a stock bottom end with a girdle, victor jr heads, carb intake and sick holley ultra double pumper with MSD everything BBK longtubes super 40s and dumps before rear axles running 87 pump gas because hes broke. and that word beastmode is mine. so whoever posted that was a douche for knowing me ha

  • @ghettosmirnoff If you think a stock 302 "beastmodes" every gear I feel sorry for your experiances in slow cars.

  • @EliteLX i put stock but i meant stock bottom end. top end was built. sick car for a little 302. and i wouldnt feel to bad for me. my buddies are rockin out procharged 4.6 mustangs putting out 580ish and the rest of my buddies are rockin LT1 camaros and LS1 camaros with a side of WS6 TA lol. slow is in the passed. i was 20 when i posted that.

  • i took my e-cam with stock e7s to 7grand twice on accident before glad it didnt blow. nice car! hulls ass

  • that little bitch run bad mofo

  • Just went from a baby e303 cam in my 347 to a Trick Flow stage 3 cam.. I really considered an Anderson cam but didn't want to wait an extra week for the $125 for it since I haven't been able to drive the car in 3 months and it is my daily. I'm kind of regretting it now that I've seen your vids but the cam is already in the car! Very nice car man.

  • @jjsk8erkid just because I watched the video again I thought I'd comment.. my stage 3 trickflow cam broke after a week....... Had to put an f303 in the car. Pissed about it, but shit happens *shrug*.. at least frpp products are reliable.

  • @jjsk8erkid The cam just broke? Wow, that's not good. Did it hurt the motor pretty bad? Which heads do you have on that 347? I know it's your daily driver but I bet you could pick up a ton over that stage 3 gave you with a custom cam. I'm sure you are pretty bummed about what the f-303 has done for the car. I know the FRPP cam's are good cams but they have their places in the 302's.

  • @vibrant93 it's odd, only the timing gears shredded.. the distributor gears it meshed with were perfectly fine. And I had run an e303 cam in the car for 20,000 miles or so previously. . I currently have a small set of unported edelbrock performers.. Also on the small side. I built the car over the last couple of years, working off a part time, minimum wage job so things aren't ideal..

  • sweet combo keep postin..

  • details on engine?

  • It's a stock block/bottom end 306 with some Ross 12:25:1 pistons. Anderson N-91 cam, Victor EFI intake, 90mm t.b.

  • @vibrant93 what heads you running? Running any power adders? Low 11s N/A is cooking w/ a 306 and a OTS cam. Awesome running car

  • @Insanestang89 They are TFS Street Heats that were done up by JDC who use to port for Anderson Ford. ~308 intake, ~220 exhaust. Titanium retainers and keepers with their springs. It's been a best of 10.93 @ 200' elevation but that was a couple years ago. I've got some weight out of it since then and it went 11.00 in 98* temps last year with DA at 1900'. I think it's got a 10.70 in it but am too chicken to find out. She's on a borrowed time with this short block :)

  • @vibrant93 They are tuff lil engines for sure....What RPM you spinning it to? Ive always heard thats what kills the stock blocks is turning alot of RPM. I went old school w/ a carb and a old 79 forged bottom end non roller block in my 89 GT. Ive heard the old blocks are alittle tougher so when I spray the 200 next spring i guess we will find out if the machinist done his job. lol

  • @Insanestang89 I see you were turning 7300 above but what about your track runs?

  • @Insanestang89 I try not to spin it up past 7k on the street and that's probably why it's lasted as long as it has. At the track I usually pull 1st and 2nd gear at 7300 or so and come down to 7100 on the 3-4 shift. I think a good tune goes a long way and I try to stay on top of that. I'm switched fuel a week ago from Renegade 110 to VP-113 so it's a whole new tune process. A carb will make power for you, keep the tune safe and try not to spin it too much on the spray and you'll be fine.

  • @vibrant93 what kind of tuner or chip do you run,I have a stage 3 cam but not too sure of how the stock ecm will like it?any hint you can give me?89 stock bottom end and windsor jr heads bbk upper.

  • @burnindarubber I run an old school Ford Motorsport Extender behind an A9L computer. I did do the crystal mod to the A9L to make the processing speed a bit better but that's it. I've tried an Anderson PMS in the past but didn't have much luck with it.

  • @burnindarubber too much cam for the BBK intake, try a victor 5.0

  • Damn..

  • more videos. asap

  • what setup u runnin
