@summertimegirl44 it wasn't really hard to learn for the basses, the tenor part seemed to be challenging for the tenors though. Cant really speak for the other parts. But I agree it could have been lighter
I am replying to a lot of these now. I enjoyed hearing this song, our groups have not done this work. I think the language was okay, there wasn't anything glaring. I little bit lighter and a little bit softer would make it sound much better. This is a smaller group, so really, light and quick should be easier. I'm actaully perplexed by the microphones right in front of you. Are they not going to hear you?
I hear you on the lightening it up thing. We had a lot of strong voices & its hard to do that with such strong voices, but that shouldnt be an excuse. Both of these mixed ensemble performances on youtube are kinda bad compared to how we did at competition though. idk about the mic thing, never really thought about it 0_o
its kinda an odd arangement, i dont really like how it goes fa na instead of fa una, but hey, awesome still :3
which arrangement do you have? in ours we repeat the 2nd verse and say it a bit differently, but hey, haha we could be the ones wrong, as a said, again still awesome performance!
yeah that was just som of us articulating the words poorly. it is fa una...I have the Vecchi arrangement, which I thought was the only arrangement but I could be wrong.
& we're probably the ones saying the words incorrectly, I realized after watching a few other choirs perform this.
i think i remember u from piano class, when i had it for the 1st 2 weeks of school.
but yeah y does larosa hate u??? lol
its good that ur doing solos, cuz i hear not alot of guys are doing it this year. I did some last year, i got an excellent at states. Thats really good that ur doing it though, u get individual "lessons" so to speak to improve ur voice, & its a fun experience. What languange does Larosa want u 2 sing in???
oh ok. well italion is pretty easy compared 2 German or french, so consider yourself lucky. a lot of the songs u sing as a group will be italian as well so just try & get used 2 it. Even now most of the solos im singing in college are italian. But yeah, i dont know if you'll ever sing a japanese solo...ever lol, those are rare...especially for a male voice.
Well, thing is... I actually speak japanese as well... And I sing songs in Japanese... If I could get a really old Malice Mizer song... I'm hoping she'd let me use it...
oh ok. well give it a try...knowing larosa though i doubt she'll let you. Plus its easier for her to teach you a song in a language she's familiar with. But like i said, go 4 it u never kno.
As i told the other guy yeah blending was an issue with us, but we fixed it for states. & yeah a few of us did stick out a bit, but hey its a madrigal ensemble. Either way we made huge improvements for states & got superiors...thank u for what i'm goin 2 take as constructive criticism.
hmm i appreciate your comments. this was actually at a concert, but we did it at a district competition and got a superior. But the judge did try 2 mix us up so we can blend better...well we're performing it tomorrow at states, so hopefully we sound better
To get into my auditioned choir at my college... I had to sight read this with a quartet :| (made it in though)

Out of all the YouTube versions of this, this is my favorite. Perfect dynamics, in sync, and I can hear all the parts. GREAT!

I think this was the best version I heard on youtube. It was light, sweet and had a spin. Excellent sound.

Name's John.... I'm a skinny white boy that's new to the chorus... I'm loud... Annoying.... and often hyper... Mrs. La Rosa hates me xD
And I'm going to be doing solo's... but I need to convince La Rosa to let me sing a song in a language I'm more accustomed to...

She wants me to sing in Italian... But I really don't know how.... I'm much more accustomed to Japanese (and of course English) really...

You're not blended! And the "Ch'invita" is "Che invita" should sound like "Keen vita"! I studied italian. You're out of tune by the way.
