Unfortunately, The Agonist seems to be touring as an opener for a lot of bands. At most of the venues I've been too the sound up front is terrible. Unless they are already fans of the band they may not be able to make the music out very well. On the other hand, when I go to shows, I try to rock out up front even if I don't know the band. That said, I haven't had a chance to see them live yet, but they seem to play pretty well live, so hopefully I'll get to soon.

@RemusStelistu no not really, its more the amount of use of the bass, since i've been rolling without bass in my band for quite some time. and now we got some1 to look awesome while playing bass and... only the visual of our performance is really the thing that has became better of it. but if we would play like, some crazy bass crap, yes then we would need a bass more then guitar. its just about how the stuff is balanced in the songs u play.

well they're from canada, but they won't go any further east than their home town, which leaves out 1/4 of the country...so I cant see them without a 20 hour drive.

and im judging them based off of every live video they have, because i really like them, they just all suck live except for her, who is one of the best screamers i've ever heard, male or female...her voice sounds a bit worn out in this vid, though

i know, theyre from montreal...they just did a more extensive Canadian run. they arent done yet either. you dont really know what they really sound like until you have seen them live. they all sound killer.

And i've been to plenty of shows before, the atmosphere is often enough to make it seem amazing, its just plain obvious here (and in most of their videos I watch) that some of the playing is terrible. The bass drum has triggers, and right off the start his double bass is out of rythym. at 1:36 the bass player can't play fast enough, so he just slops around, but atleast he doesnt use a pick.

the bass drums here are not triggered. the bassist also is using a technique to mimic the kicks. again, its hard to tell from the mix of a video.
