The record companies trade votes to have artists they want to win certain categories. Faith Hill was not upset that someone else won, but that she was told that she was going to win. Of course, she cannot tell the world how award shows work, and destroy the award show illusion. The record companies would not be pleased.

Faith Hill is a beautiful person, my favorite country artist for @13yrs. I think the best singer, she has done so much for this genre, so much to help people in Gulf region since Katrina. I loved Faith Hill's Christmas special last Dec, she hasn't even has an album for 5yrs, yet gets invited to do her own special. That shows how respected this gal is in Music today. I'm looking forward to her new album/CD. Faith has many fans who adore her!!!

Faith Hill is a beautiful person, my favorite country artist for @13yrs. I think the best singer, she has done so much for this genre, so much to help people in Gulf region since Katrina. She promotes literacy and adoption. her personality is adorable, so genuine and warm is her smile, nothing fake to it. Faith has been working on a new album/CD, looking forward to it!!!

Faith Hill has a lot of class, is a special person, beautiful and talented. I think she was joking, so what if not. A lot of people were surprised, noone wins 'Best New Artist' and 'Top Vocalist' at country awards shows the same night. Everyone else has had to put in a few yrs first before winning.

ok...after reviewing some other videos...i agree it's not altered...probably some mix up...you gotta admit that I'm sure there is rivalries between singers. The thing is, even if she meant it as a joke, it just didn't work for her. I live in Nashville, and for years she'd been called "Faithless Hill" because of the shameless way she flirted with every woman's husband/boyfriend on her climb up. Then, while was was engaged to her record producer, she entered a relationshp with Tim McGraw - while wearing another man's engagement ring! She's no longer the ingenue. It's time she stepped aside for someone else.

I am not a Faith Hill fan. I think I know one song that she sings. This is clearly like a joke. Nashville is known for having no sense of humor and so it doesn't surpirse me that many people did not think it was funny.

ok i don't know what happened cause i didn't watch the CMAs or the Ellen show later but from what i saw of this clip she looked shocked and then angry...then to say later it was a joke kind of makes it suspicious...i'm not gonna judge cause it would bug you if someone that new beat you out after you'd been in the business awhile but the new will come and the old will have to step down eventually and if they're worth anything then people will still be listening to them years after they retire..
