  • Pagans are Polythiest right the im trying to shut down a New Age troll tying to tell me the Gods and Goddesses are just Ideals and not actual beings

  • @Joeyal123 They are real... and are always watching the actions of Men and Women... but to everything there is an order... and the God of all Gods is the Ruler of ALL the Gods.. our Mighty Lord and benevolent, Mediterranean God... Zeus... or Job and Jupiter if said in the Latin, Romance tongues....

  • @GeneAlchemist777 job ? as in job of the bible ? I pray to Isis in Latin

  • @Joeyal123 No not Job as in the Bible, but as in the Aeneid... you see how the Judeo/Christian beliefs have completely ruined all of our connections to our Ancient Gods?... to our Mediterranean God of all Gods.. Migthy Zeus... Job is another Name that the Ancient Romans called Him.. they also celled Him Jupiter, of course...

  • @GeneAlchemist777 Yes they have Gene and its sad in America they Recognize Satanist and Scinetology as a Religion but not Pagans and Wiccans

  • I believe in the Greek gods, and I am especially devoted to Persephone.

  • I'm of Greek and Italian descent and was raised Greek Orthodox (avid church going family) i got into polytheism last year and now i do look to the Greek and Norse gods, and i'm kind of going through the same stuff of finding others who worship the same gods too. not to mention i'm still a high school kid and live with my uber christian parents it sucks but. i'll get by

i live on Long Island NY but I'm moving to Raleigh NC this summer. if you wanna message me that would be awesome

  • @littlerudegirrrrl YOU ARE INCREDIBLY FORTUNATE TO HAVE THE TWO MOST BEAUTIFUL AND POWERFUL BLOOD LINES IN HUMAN EXISTENSE!!!.. SIR OR MAAM.... :)

I am of Iberian descent myself.. proudly Mediterranean in Race.. to have the genes of a Greek and an Italian is something that is a rare blessing unfortunately.. if it were up to me, I would blend the two, systematically!!!... :)

in Ancient times the tow Blessed Races have intermarry a lot.. :)

Ciao my Mediterraneans Brothers & Sisters!!

  • @GeneAlchemist777 ciao :D

  • I am a Hellenic Polytheist. I've just now gotten into it recently though, & I want to learn more about it.

  • I study and worship Aphrodite so please, feel free to chat with me.

  • I am 15, just started following this kinda... Im trying to learn more... Im in ohio and only temple thing is in dayton... a few hrs away...

  • Roman Christians oppressed the ancient Greek religion around 400--600 AD but there are records of stragglers as late as the 10th century in the Peloponnese. After that period, there was no organized movement but occasional individuals (including my namesake)

In the modern era the orthodox church has lost political power to the Greek state so belief has seen a revival. There is a reconstruction movement (that researches actual customs) that numbers several thousand. and growing fast.

  • I am a Roman Polytheist. But I recognize all forms of pagansim throughout that world. I believe there are gods from all cultural back grounds. Well anyway I am kind of in the same boat as you are. I know there are other Roman polytheist out there but they are out of reach unfortunately.

  • @VaccinesKillBabies where do you read history? from spiderman?

  • i really like the whole greek gods thing and i want to believe it but it seems very hard to believe. can anybody explain to me what this religion is all about

  • @chunxmkgee @chunxmkgee Hellenism is not religion to clarify that. Hellenism is a way of understanding your surrounding with knowledge and proofs, this is Hellenic Phillosophy, its a way to understand why your actions have consenquences and what is soul! Cosmoantilipsi is that every god/ess represents a force of the nature or even human nature, ill give you one hint, how could these people wich where the brightest and starters of everything could be so wrong with "god"?

  • I did not watch the whole video, because, any one intelligent enough to snap out of the religion that was forced down his/her throat looking to join another religion is at least not intelligent, it shows that the original religion has created the need to be servile.

There are other ways to "resurrect" Hellenism.

  • @Evolvedprimate yes indeed, knowledge

  • I am a Child of Apollo <3

  • @Yanitsaros then who do hellenic polytheists beleive is their god?

  • polytheism is wrong.

  • yur just asking to be raped arent u

  • Communities established in America, 4 states so far.

  • because you are a young, remember as an advise from me, be carefull, cause true ancient pure religion is huge and biiger than you can imagine, and there are a lot of people that might want to earn from you, before you start pray find and read some true religion and scientistic ancient documents, and one day you must choose your god, and path,

  • Geia sas! Euharistw for having so much pride enough as to create a youtube about this.I am a hellenic Polytheist. I have a small group of Hellenic Polytheists. I have almost the same story as you. I am a worshipper of Poseidon. May the Gods bless you and all of the other Greek Polytheists like us.

    Hail the Gods and Poseidon!

  • I am! I live in Vancouver :)

  • Since this video has received the most responses, I'll keep it up for awhile so that people can see this note.

  • I'm delighted with all the wonderful comments here. But I haven't received them because I hardly ever use the address to which this account is connected. I read them now and thank all of you. Since Youtube lacks logic, they've decided to not let anyone change the e-mail addresses associated with their accounts. So I've created a new one. I'm now Magkisa (minus the 83). So if you are one of my subscribers, just add Magkisa to your list.

  • we are so in this together!!! i am A hellenic polytheists. i do really believe in GODS AND GODDESS !!!

  • I'm a Hellenic Polytheist. The problem is most of the people I see who identify with the Greek gods are Wiccans, and I don't like the goody-good ideas they have. I describe it as if the Wiccans are the Catholics of Pagans, I'm a Pagan protestant.

  • I am a Hellenic polytheist, but I also practice many other forms of paganism, expecially Kemeticism, Odinism, the pagan ways of the Slavs, and the pagan ways of the Arabs. What I love about paganism is its love for nature and its respect for individuals. And honestly, the idea of one supreme being is BORING. I love having a variety, especially when the pagan gods have a better understanding of the human spirit than the god of the Abrahamic religions.

  • @DienervonWotan14 Odinism is Germanic not Slavic

  • @DienervonWotan14 I think you must keep to the Ancestral religion that your Race is from.. The Mediterranean Religion must be for the Mediterranean Race.. you say you practice "Odinism"?, LOL, fine if you are celto/germanic you should definately follow the Ancestral religion of YOUR people.. but to mix the beliefs of one to another, when they NEVER mixed in the past, when the Hellenic people saw celt/germanics as primitives.. is a mayor insult to our Mediterranen Gods & Ancestors of our Race!

  • i am

  • I admire you; blind and you could learn a language as difficult as greek and keep such a good humor. May the gods bless you.

  • I hear ya, and you may know this, please forgive me if I sounds like Im giving you basic information, but Hermes will lead the way!

  • in the past they used to belirve that the gods live in olympus. now there is nothing there where do you think they live now ?????

  • i do yay!!!! i live in UK, ENGLAND, KENT,

  • Is that a boy or woman???

And what the hell did she say at the begininng (the first few words)

  • I'm a Hellenic Pagan but I'm in the UK. I'm looking for Hellenist friends too.

  • lolz i like your video. I am a Greek pagan more or less (my parents are catholic and aren't church goers) i have had my first communion and all that but that's not what i believe. i haven't been a strict worshiper though i want to be i am not sure how... im only a teen

  • little boy or older woman?

  • Can somebody explain this religion in full detail to me because I was brought up Christian but lately I've been having a hard time believing it and I was just wondering if u could tell me about this religion because it fascinates me

  • I love your accent, You don't need to have a university degree to realize the malice and fraud known as Christianity. Unfortunately the Pagans in Greece perhaps up to 100,000 strong are anti-Semitic and Anti-American, to the Bone. They promote probaganda and non historical facts. They claim psuedo-Historical facts. So what could have started as a positive movement is turning into something as corrupt as Christianity.

  • I was going to laugh. But I realize you're blind now. So it would be wrong. I can't help myself, though. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Barbarians turned Hellenic Polytheism to paganism... so you better first understand the difference.. The only way to understand Hellenic Polytheism is by learning Hellenic Language and read the prototypes (not translated) ... And i ll give you a reason... ΑΓΑΠΗ means LOVE and ΕΡΩΣ means LOVE two totally different meanings translated with a single word.. and this is just a simple example.

  • Greetings from Colorado! I am indeed a Hellenic polytheist, if you would ever like to chat. Feel free to send me a message.

    Hail Apollo :)

  • @MsUncreativeusername I am a looking to practice Hellenic Polytheist and I would like help how practation it better.

  • I've just subscribed. I hope you find people with common beliefs. Έρρωσο (Be healthy).

  • glory to zues god of all gods

  • Does any one know any Hellenic polytheist groups I can join

  • Well im glad to see they aren't complete assholes like the fundamentalist christians constentaly attacking others

  • I share your religion :)

haha I loved that "If you don't beleive in the Gods you are going to Tartarus!"

  • Hi, I am Jesse, from Illinois, i believe in all gods, and even are willing to get together to do anything to please all the gods that i believe in, since they are all so scarce around the U.S.

  • hi vipul from india

  • Kali Dynami from Ohio

  • perhaps if you arent finding what you need locally, you could consider relocating...itd be an adventure and surely Greek lore contains no shortage of legendary figures who had to take adventures or go on long journeys.

  • Heil from Ohio. Im a Germanic Heathen but there used to be a Hellenic Pagan group in Springfield.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm a Hellenic pagan, but I don't know what to do. XD

The life in my country is so different to the first world countries so I'm trying to live a normal life and be part of the cosmos, philosophy, and courage and dignity like the ancient Greeks

Sometimes is sad because in this country ruled by protestant Christians the intolerance is everywhere. Anyways I wish to know some Hellenes too.

bye! And glory to Artemis/Diana the great goddess.

  • Well o realize this has been up for awhile. Greetings from Texas. While we may not be close by, I do believe there is a great deal we could teach each other.

That said I feel I should say up front that I am not a reconstructionst. Ton of reasons. Long stories. But I am devoted to the Hellenic gods. And would welcome any discussion.

  • Χαίρε Ελένη. Πράττεις το όμορφο και το σωστό.

    Έρρωσο.

  • You are right! I'm a hellenic polytheist too! Spread your faith by your community, along your friends! I'm doing it along Barcelona, and it's groing up! Paganism are rebirthing! Only the localism and regionalism could provides it! This will arrive only when the globalization finishes!

  • Hail sister of Hellas.

I am down in the deep south, surrounded by bible thumpers... in Alabama

  • oh gods I am so going to Tartarus for laughing at this

  • I can't answer that. Only Zeus and Hermes can... But They've been laughed at before and still survive so... I doubt it.

  • I am a hellenic pagan but i live in France

  • It's amazing to see how we're all spread all over the world. Truly a beautiful thing.

  • Glory to our true Gods and Goddesses! I am politeist ever since i lived in the States. Now we are getting serious about a real reviving of our ancient religion. We are begining educating new priests and priestesses, building new temples in the frame of the United Aryan Temple. A foundation is soon to be registered, so hopefuly we will rase enough funds in order to build the first Theopolis, a city of the Gods, as fast as possible.

  • Greetings from Bulgaria, the home of the great Tracian souls, Orpheus and Evmolpes, who actualy brought most of the cults to Elada. That;s why one of the priests families in Athina was called The Evmolpides. All cults, Nordic, Slavic, Olympic and Roman will be treated equaly. And than shall be eternal peace! Glory to the Great Goddess Athina Parthenos!

  • Best of luck to you in finding some folks near you. There aren't too many of us around. I was in Pennsylvania but now have moved to New Mexico. Blessings from Gitana, Hellenion member

  • lol Geia sou! I know you and I love Hellenion. I've actually joined and am interested in taking the BAE course and perhaps, the Clergy one as well. Just a few problems with the papers need to be sorted out. Anyway, wonderful group.

  • I believe in the Hellenic gods

    lets talk sometime

  • Sure, why not? I love making friends. I'd love to see whom you're close to etc.

  • I personally don't worship the greek gods but I do worship the other celestial gods and goddesses and they share the names of the greeks. Astrology is a religion to me.

  • I love astrology but don't know the specifics. I always thought it was impossible for a blind person to do it but someone told me differently. So do you go deeply into it, moon signs as well as sun, houses, natal charts etc?

  • I'd be happy to join your group, we could talk about a lot of things even if we are all far away from each other.

  • Great. lol Maybe, I should make my own of all these new friends. *smile* There are many out there and different. Hellenic Pagan, Hellenic recons and Hercules Invictus are groups I joined. HP is very eclectic and sometimes drama-filled, which is unfortunate. HI is also eclectic and more on the mystical side. they do stuff in the real world and online. Nteresting aproach... HRis very recon and doesn't even allow talk of oracles but they're very good with history, quotes etc.

  • I am a die-hard science-believer, especially in chemistry, physics and mathematics. But I know there are too many unanswered misteries around us and science can't give us answers, not now not never. That's why I turned towards polytheism (Greek and Roman) for two reasons: first is that monotheism is

illogical (Is God male or female? I have plenty of questions like that), the second is that having many gods is more logical if we are looking for an equilibrium in our lives.

  • Yes, I couldn't find an logic in monotheism either. Too much for one being and then, the notion of praying to a completely perfect deity. How can he/she/it understand me? I'd rather pray to multiple deities who've experienced mortal feelings and experiences, even if only temporary. Btw, I love the fringe sciences and the paranormal.. Butthe fact that you're into the hard sciencesand still agree with polytheism only backs us up further. Great job!

  • @Iceman5215 Year late reply, so just to get this clear; because you have questions that cannot be answered, you turned to religion?

That sounds like a reason plenty of people that are Atheists turn to religion, because there's no way to answer their questions yet.

    Omne ignotum pro magnifico.

  • I myself do not worship the Hellenic Gods but I'm Greek and have been brought up with all the mythology etc. It's nice to hear another pagan speaking Greek as I speak it too!

  • Γεια σας. Well, it's wonderful to find a sympathiser, especially from the Hellenic culture. If you read my profile or check out my other videos, you'll know just how much that means to me. Zito Ellada!

  • Many of us are isolated, especially polytheists. I've found plenty of Wiccans, but few actual polytheists who believe in pantheons rather than gender-based dualism. My beliefs are primarily Slavic, not Greek, but I'm always happy to see reconstructionism. I wish you luck.

  • Ooh! I've got a friend who's looking for Slavic pagans. I wonder if she found you, since she said she met someone on youtube. Her name's Karmen.

  • I don't think it's me. I haven't really met anyone, unfortunately, except for a helpful Russian who gave me a link to a website, I would love to get in touch with others with a similar path.

  • She's actually not a follower but is very interested in Norse andSlavic religions...

  • I see. Well even so, if she is looking for more Slavic pagans, she could always get in touch with me.

  • my girlfriend is a hard greek wiccan then i know someone named eric on stickam who is a full blown hellenist if you want to chat with them i can send you a link to a way to communicate with them

  • Yes, I'd love to speak withthem. Imight know one or both if they're on the Yahoo groups.

  • Not a problem. The more the merrier. Even meeting those of us who are far away can be nice. *smile*

  • I am hellenic, but I live in England. :))

  • Που είσαι; Στην Ελλάδα; Sorry if you don't know Greek. I just asked where yare you, in Greece? In any case, I hope we can become friends. Even if we can't worship together in person, I think it's important that followers of The Gods band together at least virtually to form a community.

  • I am Hellenic Polytheist. But I am very far away. :(

  • Well, follow your heart and let go of any inhibitions or preconceived notions if you can. You may be surprised at who's there. And good luck with everything. Keep me posted on your progress if you want. *smile*

  • lol Mortal priestess? I've heard alot but certainly nothing like that. Wikipedia has information on her (spelt Hecate in that case not the usual Hekate) but we all know it's not always the most accurate, so take it with a grain of salt. Still, it's worth a look. In any case, if you feel She is calling to you, your best bet is to answer Her. She's a very powerful goddess and friend to have in times of need. that said, I haven't experienced Her personally so can't speak for myself.

  • im not quit sure if it is hecate or not but someones is trying to get ahold of me

  • is hecate a goddess or a titan ? (random i know but its killing me)

  • Her birth has been attributed to Perses and Asteria (titans) and to Zeus and Hera (Olympians) However, most consider her a goddess. Many honours are given to her and she is honoured by gods and humans alike. However, the whole croan thing is a more modern idea and has no basis in ancient texts. Read Theogony (ll. 404-452 (actually start a few lines before with Deathless Styx for wonderful information.

  • thanks iv heard alot, some say titaness others goddess and one person said a mortal priestess i just wanted to know befor i continue worshiping

  • Well, there are several groups and resources for us on and offline if you want to join or look around. Feel free to message me so we can chat.

  • oh that sounds lovly

  • goddess of magic

  • You don't even know what you are talking about and you will judge people. The ancient pagan religions (ie. not Wicca or "witchcraft" or any of that "magick" schtick) are just as complex as any "modern" religion and some of them are arguably more civilized (the Greeks and Romans condemned human sacrifice unlike Abraham... and the Romans originally didn't even sacrifice animals until influenced by Middle Easterners).

  • Oh, I'm so sorry Mr. Scholar! How rude of me, a college graduate with honors and a follower of The Gods for seven years to come between you and your massive learning of some myths in high school. Take a look at the nonmainstream texts of the monotheists. You might be surprised. But what should I know? I'm only a silly pagan after all. Let Hermes hold your tongue from any more foolishness please!

  • yeah actually i am going to Johns hopkins university, one of the top colleges in the country. you and your delusional fuckheads believe in a bunch of shit about some stuff they made up in bc times. they made it up to explain unknown things such as lightning and zeus. some stuff in christainity is bullshit, but jesus was real and crucified so i believe. so back the fuck up

  • Apparently, they forgot to teach you how to debate civilly and how to ask questions with respect. Perhaps you don't believe in that because respect can't be seen or perhaps you only feel that your religion deserves it. As for Jesus, he may have existed and may have been crucified but so were many others in the Roman empire. It was a common practice. And if you want to talk about real people who were wrongfully killed and who accepted it let's discuss Sokrates.

  • Vickerys, I know that you may feel threatened by our religious beliefs. For whatever reason, many Christians do. You can't read mythology like you would read history because many myths use stories to encode spiritual truths about the Gods. I mean, do you take everything in your Old Testament as fact? This would indicate that you cannot wear fabric blends and that you must quarantine moldy clothing at your temple/church. Calm down and consider using less profane language.

  • Doesn't look like you learned much from high school or your John Hopkins College. Surely, it seems like you never aced at mythology, polite manners, or grammer. Wash your mouth out before you lecture us on the nature of the Gods.

  • And you never learned to spell "grammar." :-P

  • How funny.. You discovered Hellenic Polytheism in December while I just discovered it too and it is the month of December, lol.

I wish I lived near you or other Hellenic Polytheists... Great video!

  • I'm not sure where you live but there are probably some of us nearby in one fashion or another. There are many groups for you to check out if interested and I can help you find those if you'd like. Also blogs and online and offline communities.

  • Greek religion!!!The real genesis of the world!!!You are in a Great path ...my dear!!!BLESS YOU!!!

  • Your comment truly touched me. I'm sorry that it took me so long to respond. In any case, I have alot to learn but The Gods are in my heart and soul. They mean everything to me for without them I'd be nothing and have nothing. In any case, blessings upon you as well. *smile*

  • Hello. Don't think I'm near you, but I'd like to say a quick hello. YouTube professions of faith and demands for actual worship are always 100% welcome, nice offsets to the montages with scrolling text.

  • Hi there. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. In any case, my videos are just plain and while that can be boring sometimes, I didn't mean this one to proselitise etc. I mean, the people can contact me if they don't know where to start or can do research on their own if they wish. I was just looking for friends and co-religionists.

  • Ah, I was just commenting that this was a nice change from the music-accompanied slide shows. (They're nice, too, but there are a lot of them.)

  • YIASOU RE TIFANITSA

  • I am an Eclectic Hellenic Pagan (If you want to use titles, I usually just use Pagan, plain and simple). Athena is my principal goddess, but I do include most of the other gods in the Greek pantheon

  • The reason why I rarely use the word pagan is because so many people think pagan = Wiccan. I have no problems with Wiccans but I don't practise magic and I find the stereotype very annoying, even though I know most people can't help it. Btw, I don't remember if I said it in the video, but I'm very close to Hermes and Athena brought me to the religion. *smile*

  • Wishing you the best of luck in finding fellow worshippers in your area. I am in Ohio and will be joining Hellenicon in the near future. Mark.

  • I know bunches. Sinfultictac, RomanPhilosopher, SpykeVampyre. All Hellestic Pagans in one way shape or form.

  • Are any in New Jersey or New York? I'm trying to follow a more reconstructionist, as opposed to a Wiccan/newage path, but I welcome all sorts of friends. Btw, I forgot to give some contact info incase anyone wants to contact me off youtube.

Feel free to add me or to chat.

  • Sorry guys. lol I forgot to give you my location! I'm in New Jersey, very close to New York. So either of those are fine for "local" friendships.
