If there were slaves, they were Hebrew slaves. The story of Joseph is a tribute as to how the Hebrew people made it into Egypt, which the other movie in this series tells quite spectacularly. The Hebrew people originated as a dark skinned people; they were ebony at first. I really don't rely on history to begin with, however; it's usually fabricated, unreliable, and censored so as to protect the historian's civilization. I just read scripture; that tells me what's what.
One problem: there is no evidence that Hebrews built the pyramids. Slaves did build them, but they weren't Hebrew, they were simply Eyptian/African slaves. But other than that, this movie is spectacular, inspirational, has some of the most beautiful music that aided in the happiness of my childhood, and is unforgettable.
No wonder Dreamworks took an historical license, this is so implausible it's amusing. Even if you could use the Bible for historical reference. If the Hebrews were in Egypt at this time, there couldn't of been tens of thousands given the human population there, otherwise there would be some note of them in Egyptian history. No part of Egypt was that developed at that point, Egypt had several small civilations spread out along the Nile, but nothing as massive as shown here in one place.
I wish Dreamworks would do a movie of Esther. Thats one of my favorite Bible stories. The annimation is incredible, ten times better than Disne animation
As a kid, I got so lost in the music and the beautiful animation of this great story, that I didn't associate it with religion or anything until I was 12. I knew the story thanks to the "my first bible" book I had, but I never said "Oh! This is the exodus" (is that what its called? I'm not very informed) even though there is a note at the beginning of the movie. Dreamworks created some great stuff around this time.

You speak of good faith, yet Christians, Baptists, and so on have none. They speak blasphemies and morphs the Bible into what they want it to say. The Bible says "love thy neighbor" and you have a church preaching about homosexuality being wrong, etc. Christians do nothing in good faith. (And I was raised Christian, mind you).

This is one of the most magical movies from Dreamworks, next to Sprit: Stallion of the Cimarron and How To Train Your Dragon. Everything in this movie is outstanding: the score, songs, animation, and inspirational story. When I was old enough to comprehend the story, I watched it from beginning to end, and when the song "When You Believe" came on, I bawled my eyes out. This is one of the most magical movies from Dreamworks, next to Sprit: Stallion of the Cimarron and How To Train Your Dragon. Everything in this movie is outstanding: the score, songs, animation, and inspirational story. When I was old enough to comprehend the story, I watched it from beginning to end, and when the song "When You Believe" came on, I bawled my eyes out. It just goes to show you that miracles do happen if you believe with all your heart. I am a person that believes in God, cont.
