im a big fan of Death but i cant agree if they are considered as the pioneer of Death Metal. Sepultura scored earlier with their 1986 album Morbid Vision.... a year earlier than Death's first album..
Pioneer doesen't mean that you invent something, you just help shape it. Nobody "invented" death metal, but Death just probably had the biggest impact on it. You had plenty of extreme thrash bands that were basicaly playing borderline death metal, Slayer probably being the most widely known, each contributing to it all, but with Scream Bloody Gore, Death basicaly made a mould for all future death metal - extreme gutteral vocals, fast beats, brutal mostly gore related lyrics etc.

Chuck didnt, and he paid a high price, but keep this in mind, after his death many people in the scene take this into consideration including James Murphy, who beated cancer.

Chuck had a terrible disease, but @cerelilqt said that Chuck died because there was not a socialized care system, i said that everybody have to pay their own health care, unfortunately Chuck didnt have an insurance, and he died because he didnt have the money for the treatment. If Chuck had had insurance, probably his recovery could have been possible. So Get an insurance.
@ricardofr13 - I think Chuck did have money for treatment, and he got it, but he died anyway. I remember reading about it, he'd had the tumor since he was a child, and even with the treatment, it'd done too much damage already.

@artha5 no. he didnt find out about his illness until after TSOP was recorded. He just grew tired of the growls, which is why he has the high pitched voice, and also why Chuck decided to start Control Denied. Maybe around the time he was recording the first Control Denied album was when he found out. Look on Chuck's wikipedia page, and check out the references. I believe I got it from empty words, his official site. Pretty reliable cuz thats where his mom posts

I agree with you dude. the jackson warriors have too much of a round neck, the xiphos paint job is too sticky and the stealth just had to high of action for me which is easy to fix. stealth all the way
Stealths come with high action for less tension on the truss rod which makes it last longer, they expect you to do it, you dont want stress on the truss rod in shipment
its because at that time chuck decided to change his vocal style, he was bored of his death growling, so he changed to a more high-pitch voice, you can notice that in sound of perseverance.
Chuck Schuldiner is my all time hero but can anyone else notice that his vocals sound really black metal live. I prefer his vocals on the album especially for this track but he sounds so much more evil live - its fuckin sweet!!!

the chuck signature model isnt nearly as good as his own guitar, they kind of get you with that. same with loomis and all the other signatures

@PathologistReport if you know how to work and customize guitars you could make it as good, most professional guitarists dont just use a guitar right from the factory, they work the shit out of the whole guitar to make it comfortable for them

Warriors are not good at all, the sound they give is so un natural and fizzy, Stealths are like the top of the line handmade BC richs, but warlocks hate em the stealth is their only good guitar

I agree with you dude. the jackson warriors have too much of a round neck, the xiphos paint job is too sticky and the stealth just had to high of action for me which is easy to fix. stealth all the way

Stealths come with high action for less tension on the truss rod which makes it last longer, they expect you to do it, you dont want stress on the truss rod in shipment

its because at that time chuck decided to change his vocal style, he was bored of his death growling, so he changed to a more high-pitch voice, you can notice that in sound of perseverance.

Chuck Schuldiner is my all time hero but can anyone else notice that his vocals sound really black metal live. I prefer his vocals on the album especially for this track but he sounds so much more evil live - its fuckin sweet!!!
